I love this banjo!
I am a beginner and started out playing on a borrowed Washburn B9. Since I am new to playing the banjo I can't offer an expert opinion other than to say that I love the look, feel and sound of the B11. I also need to mention that the staff at Sweetwater is second to none when it comes to customer service. Whether you are buying the most expensive instrument available or a set of strings, they treat you like you are very important to them. Thank you to Nate and the rest of the Sweetwater staff!
Good choice
I was shopping for another banjo. I had owned a similarly priced banjo from another company but wasn't real impressed with it. I'm so glad I chose the Washburn. It sounds great and the action right out of the box was perfect. There was no need to get it adjusted or serviced in any way. I wish the action on some of my guitars were as low as the action on this banjo! I'm very happy and the hard case that came with it saves another added expense. Figuring the savings from not having to buy a case added to the cost of having the action adjusted means I saved... off the purchase price. I highly recommend Washburn banjos. I have never owned a Washburn instrument before this but I will check them out on any future purchases.
over all very pleased
havent played in years, wanted a good banjo at a good price and i think i found it.the sound is really good playability is really good and best of all stays in tune very well after tuning and set up i really like it for the money would highly recomend and as always sweetwater was fast and helpful thanks guys steve g
A great, inexpensive but well made instrument.
I haven't played a banjo for almost 20 years, and this was a great way to get back into it. It sounds great, is easy to play and looks good, too. It's not a fancy one, no decorative inlays or scrollwork etc. It is just solid and well made.
I've been playing mostly bass and some guitar for the past couple of decades, and am having to relearn a lot of fingerwork, especially with my right hand. Since this one is a lot easier to play then my old banjo, so it's been a fun transition.
Would have liked dual coordinator rods but it's not really a big deal for this price point. The tuners are a little stiff as well, but again, nothing I can't live with.
It does come with a nice Washburn hard case, which is pretty rare even among higher end stringed instruments. Usually they'll come with a gig bag, if anything at all.
