First Impressions
I came here for probably the same reason you're here - portable, cost effective recording interface, and as far as I'm concerned it is all that and more.
Pretty much since I started playing, I've play through the Scarlett 2i2. Recently though I've been trying to be more portable. Though the Scarlett is pretty much a pack-and-go itself, I didn't really want to pack it in and out of the studio setup, so I went looking and found this gem, the Prosonus Go.
So, first impressions:
Software 4/5
The driver was a little frustrating to get going, but after a few trys and a computer reboot it was good to go.
Build 3/5
The overall case quality is questionable, just small plastic, and the outputs seem lower end.
Controls 5/5
The knobs are just stiff enough and have great response.
The recording and processing of this interface is actually really good.
Also the phantom 48v for mics powers them just fine and records nice and clear.
Overall I'd say if you want long life out of this thing, it will not disappoint you, however you will need to take care not to just toss it around. Very good addition to the sound room and beyond.
And as always Sweetwater is quick and handles everything very well.
Perfect
Does everything you really need for at home use
Great Little Interface
This basic audio interface works great. I use it primarily for rehearsal and gigs. Low latency.
Just what I needed
I bought this for my son, as his original Audiobox went belly up. All he needed was a headphone out, speaker outs, and an input for his guitar. This has all of that. Very easy to setup, and works perfectly. Seems to be no decline in sound quality from my Studio 1810.
Great little travel interface
I got the AudioBox Go to use with Ableton Live on a laptop while I travel. I haven't used the unit very long, but so far it does everything I wanted it to do, and it's easy to use. Lightweight, buss-powered, and reasonable latency. Is it going to replace my Focusrite and MOTU interfaces? I don't think so. But, this interface is a great value for the money.
Cool and simple Presonus Audio Box go!!!
Paired this with my Presonus Eris. A very compact unit, simple user interface; Does not cost a ton of money but does the job well; Comes with software (and other free stuff). If your starting out and want an on-the-go interface, this is worth the money and it is cheap! And as always, thanks to David Winkert on his advise on this product :)
Really cool!
So my application might be a bit different….I am using this alongside my PreSonus 26C interface live as a headphone preamp.
I use Gig Performer and set these up as an aggregate device on my Mac. Then I can route my signals to this interface just as a headphone output. I also take in an FOH feed to it via the analog input and I can mix my in ears between my direct keyboard feed and my FOH feed.
Sonically, this is awesome! So much better than my older analog headphone amp. Because it is digital, I assigned unused sliders on my Arturia controller to volume control and I can do mix adjustments. It's a super clean signal path and sounds awesome!
Wow!!!
I got this for a quick little recording interface to throw in the laptop bag. The quality was shocking and at this price I am thinking about a 2nd one for my desktop!
Cool
This little thing is pretty cool for the price very portable good sound for what it is also the headphone volume is a super plus
Does the Job
I needed a very simple easy to use interface for my iMac so I could use external speakers. This product was recommended and it does the trick. it is simple and easy to set up and use.
Handy interface for phones and tablets
This is a great little audio interface for phones and tablets.
It has worked well with iPhones and iPads, with the iPhones sometimes needing a power boost in a lightning interface that includes a charging connector.
A variant of the product that includes level meters and a weighted base or tripod-mountable would be appreciated.
Light enough to use as an audio attenuator for mic-level inputs on cameras.
Poor latency, bad driver
This was super disappointing. You really get what you pay for I guess. Latency makes it unusable - at least on PC with the default official driver
