Clean channel is exceptionally dynamic
The lead channel is a bit over the top for me (most will like it), but the clean channel is truly amazing! It runs the gamit from chiming strat tones, to warm, full jazz humbucker tones that stay clean with the gain dimed! It takes pedal great, without losing its dynamics. My Phase 95 sounds more throaty and vocal then with any other amp I have. Overdrive pedals stay touch sensitive and dynamic. I really love this amp.
My only wish is that it had reverb.
PRS 50 ARCHON TUBE COMBO
I had just placed an order for this incredible PRS combo amp. The only negative ( which is not) is not able to receive it until the end of November 202. I can't wait to with my PRS Santana Guitar through it. Wish me luck!
Incredible
Super good clean channel that takes pedals really well
Super hot lead channel that breaths fire.
Not too heavy or bulky, compared to my Peavey classic 50 410 combo. I'd love to run it through some cabinets to see what we get but we'll have to wait, the 12" stick speaker sounds fine.
The only (sorta) down sides are that the effects loop is a little noisy and the lead channel is a little dark. I mitigate those by giving a little more presence and having a noise killer pedal in the loop.
Overall very happy I picked it up used through Sweetwater. Always top notch service.
Good...not great.
This is a very good amp. Just lacks bottom end in my opinion and too thin with all the gain dialed in. I know...what do you expect out of a 1x12 configuration? Well...I had a little shootout vs. my old trusty Blackstar club 40 mk1 with a 1x12. (The amp I was hoping to replace with the PRS). The Blackstar was way thicker with better thump and headroom. I think I will try the Blackstar venue 60 mk2. But keep in mind were talking about tone...very subjective.
