Good beginner guitar
Recieved this guitar two days earlier than estimated. Tuning was easy with the built in tuner and it plays great with factory strings. Easy to fret even for a beginner.Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get into playing an acoustic
Great sound
The first one I bought, had a broken battery area. However, I sent it back and they sent a replacement within one day. I bought this acoustic/electric guitar because it is a name brand (Washburn), it is made of mahogany wood, it has a built-in tuner, it's a cutaway and it's a full size guitar. Since it is a full-size guitar it has a great booming sound. The action is great and it has minimal fret buzz on the low E; not too much. Like everyone has stated, the gig bag is nice, but it does not offer any protection whatsoever. Also, it does not have a strap button for the front; only the back. I definitely recommend this guitar. I don't think you'll find anything like it in this price range.
Great guitar
I was looking for a nice guitar to take with me on trips and camping. I am a big guy and did not want a smaller "travel" guitar. This guitar is intended as a starter guitar. It has a great sound and nice fretboard. The sound through pickup is excellent. Having a built-in tuner allows me to carry one less item. I am very happy with this guitar and would recommend it for beginners or old timers like me who just need an extra guitar around.
Beginner Guitar
Not only did my sales rep give me CHOICES regarding a beginners guitar, he gave me choices in my price range. Two guitarists have been using MY guitar in church instead of theirs because the distance between the strings & frets is better than the guitars they use. I am still in my first couple weeks of learning, but having a GOOD beginner guitar has kept me motivated.
My favorite guitar for my shows
I am very happy with sound this guitar gives me,especially with Washburn med strings. I have a martian d 28 I think this gutair is almost as good.
Sounds great
Great guitar I had to install a strap pin but overall good sound great quality and for only that's a steal
Would have Given A 5-Star
I just don't like the strap that is connected to the headstock which I think is a small issue. I just bought a strap button and install it myself. The guitar sounds great right out of the box. I don't think Sweetwater did a 55-point inspection on this but that's ok. For the price point this is a great guitar. The guitar sounds great and has a warm tone in it. I would definitely recommend this for a practice or even gig. I will use this for my practice and use my Takamine for gigs.
Not bad for $
I bought this as a spare guitar to plink on at work. I didn't expect it to be a $5,000 Martin or Taylor, and it isn't. It sounds OK; not great, but OK. It doesn't "breathe" or shimmer; it just makes decent sound. The intonation is good, the neck, while a little thicker than I like, is playable and the built-in tuner is nice.
If I was comparing this to other "starter" guitars, I'd give it a slightly higher rating. I used to teach guitar and I always made sure the students had a guitar that was EASY to play. If you give them something with high action, they're gonna get frustrated. This guitar fits the bill.
