Tweeds have a decent clean sound but you'll need to turn the amp volume down to achieve it. Try the '65 Deluxe Black Face (Fender 1 package) with some JBL's for a good clean tone (and old biting surf, Buffalo Springfield and Byrd tones). Or try the '65 Super Reverb. Most of the magic of the Tweed is in the light crunch to crunch sounds and the responsiveness. For the two channel Tweeds ('57 Bandmaster, '57 Custom Deluxe and '57 Custom Pro)- don't forget to put the jumper in for the crunchier sounds. The only slight negative is that the AmpliTube software is a little taxing on CPU performance but this can be overcome by freezing tracks, muting unnecessary tracks, turning off unnecessary reverbs, delays, etc. in addition to turning off external anti-viral and other software.

I don't normally write software reviews but I feel I have to counter some of the negative reviews with my positive experience with suite! These plug-ins completely changed my mind about plug-ins. I especially like the '57 Custom Pro emulation. With my direct monitoring in SONAR (a free software suite is available for SONAR from Bandlab), I have NO Latency. People that are complaining here are not doing something right. I've installed this suite on various computers for friends with no problems.

...BY FAR the worst $... I have ever spent on ANYTHING. The tone of these amps is complete garbage. Im not even exaggerating when I say that if you crank them up, they are painful to listen to. Right when you think it can't get any worse, the latency is unbearable, and no it isn't my computer because my computer is only two weeks old, brand new. if you are working with a DAW that doesn't support 3rd party software, like pro tools first, you'll be finding yourself another DAW. And to put the icing on the cake, when you call IK Multimedia, all you get is a reference back to their website. I don't care if they drop the price of these to free, DO NOT GET THEM

I got the IK Multimedia Mesa Boogie Software Suite and was ..and still am really impressed! So I watched a couple of videos online reviewing this software and it looked/sounded awesome as well. However, Ive been very disappointed with most of the tones in this suite. It just doesn't sound like a Fender and no where near the quality that is demonstrated online. The only saving grace is the effects and cabinets that come with this suite. They are very nice and I use them a lot...with the Mesa Boogie amp settings.

Instant Regret, tone wise it"s ehh ok, but only if your just jamming by yourself and not recording. None of the tones sound good in the mix and this has easily the worse Latency of any plug-in I"ve ever used. Save your money and by a small Fender tube amp or better quality software. I wouldn"t have given it one star but you don"t have that option.

I decided to get my feet wet by buying the AmpliTube Fender 2 Collection from Sweetwater. As the Super Reverb was one of the amps, the choice was easy, I have been using computers to make music for 32+ years.

The s/w is fairly easy to use once you get past integrating it with your system. I had some false starts, but I beat on it until it gave in!

While there is minimal and/or subtle difference between the tweed amps and the Super, the various patches offered tonal fun. Once I got down to business with my strat, I started to forget there was no amp involved! I slipped on my RockSlide and had hours of fun.

All in all, a professional package from IK Multimedia that I will find useful.
