Love these monitors!!!
I was ready to upgrade from my multi-media Mackie CR5-XBTs's speakers, and was not sure what to get. So I called up my guy at Sweetwater, Vern Weller. We talked about the major players, Yamaha, Adams, etc. Towards the end of our coversation, I said "I just want my guitars to be clear and crisp, my bass to pop, I want to hear the drums, cymbals, kick drum" etc. He replied, "Ok, I have what you want. They're called Focals..."
LOVE, love, love these monitors!!! Now, I can't say that they are better or worse than the venerable Yamahas, etc. as these are my 1st set of "real monitors", but I can say they sound amazing! I can hear highs, the mids, the lows, the punches the crashes, the rides, the guitars... truly sublime! They also make great playback speakers for your regular music!
