LR Baggs Align Equalizer Acoustic EQ Pedal
LR Baggs Align Equalizer Acoustic EQ Pedal Reviews
If you like your acoustic-electric guitar's core tonality, then you'll be able to bring out the best in it with the LR Baggs Align Equalizer and preamp pedal. Switchable input gain and a Volume control allow you to dial in your signal level perfectly, and that's just the start. The Align Equalizer's 6-band EQ and highpass filter have been tailored specifically to the most impactful frequencies when it comes to acoustic amplification, giving you the ability to emphasize girth and power, woodiness, airiness, or presence on demand. Guitarists at Sweetwater appreciate its notch filter, which effectively minimizes resonant frequencies without sacrificing your tone. However great your plugged-in tone may be, it can sound even better with the LR Baggs Align Equalizer pedal.
Dial out the feedback
Great for dialing out the feedback on my hollowbody jazz guitar!
My Baggs EQ Pedal is a major disappointment.
Sound challenge solved!
I purchased the LR Baggs Align Equalizer Acoustic EQ pedal primarily to use with my LR Baggs Banjo Pickup bridge. That bridge is a passive pickup and I didn't have a preamp for it. I cobbled together a weak solution using a Fishman Powerchip preamp and an EQ pedal, but I was not totally happy with it.
So, I got this one and - problem solved! The three input level settings allow it to be used with passive pickups and instruments with onboard preamps. Add the six band EQ, notch control, phase switch, and hi-pass switch and I quickly arrived at a great sound for my banjo! It also works great with a guitar with a magnetic pickup, and my Dobro with a passive pickup.
I like the fact that you can operate it with 9v battery.
It did everything I needed!
EQ SUCCESS
The little box does exactly what I needed. It lets me fine-tune the sound before hitting the DI (LR Baggs Session DI), which has a good notch filter, but I want the sound as pristine as I can get it, so I have less concern over having to adjust the DI's EQ function.
Lovely LR Baggs EQ
Solid little piece with excellent clarity.
It does all of the acoustic EQ things you need.
Feels heavy duty (it is not a light pedal).
An excellent addition to your rig if you need a separate Notch Filter.
And it pairs very well with other preamps or acoustic amps.
Tried it on acoustic guitars, violin, stand up bass...does the job every time.
LR Baggs Align EQ pedal
This is the pedal i should have purchased a long time ago. it would have prevented me from spending countless hours re-searching and hundreds of dollars, plus multiple returns etc in the vicious circle of tone chasing. this pedal can clear up muddy tone, piercing highs and boomy bass while giving you fairly complete control to change at will, plus the boost function as needed. i have found this useful in the home studio as well as when playing with others. a must have pedal for amped acoustic guitars, regardless of pickup system.
AS ADVERTISED!!!
Had major feedback @roughly 120hz with both my Fender acoustasonic strat and my Taylor 810e…
No matter what setting I played in indoor, outdoor, church, home… tried using my multi effects pedal to get rid of it with no luck.
Stumbled upon YouTube video from LR Baggs showing same feedback issue and how easy it found the feedback and isolated it. Incredible how much cleaner you can get your tone and adjustability in your tone with the 6 band EQ.
WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
Cleans up muddy passive pickups
I've only had this pedal a couple of weeks and used it on one gig. I like it a lot. It brightens up the passive pickup in my dreadnought guitar. I also switch to a OO acoustic, and I think that the adjustable frequencies on the EQ are more suited for the dreadnought, but it still sounds good. I like the fact that you have so many gain, level, and high pass options.
Just what I was looking for
Played live twice so far, lots of adjustability
Pretty happy with the pedal.
Thanks Cory for the help.
Adjustability
My Chet Akins Epiphone SST Has only volume and tone controls guitar sounded fine but I wanted a little more adjustability the LR bagg Align series equalizer pedal has done the trick. I haven't used it live yet but this weekend and I'm sure it will be what I was looking for.
Thanks to Corey at Sweetwater for his assistance and also reminding me that I had a $50 gift card that I had forgotten about.
Nice Unit
When playing my acoustic through an LR Baggs Synapse PA, I had the expected quiet, annoying low end rumble. I wanted a HPF and a bit more tone control. This unit works really well. The HPF took care of the low end and I was able to dial in a really nice overall tone. Well made and works great. Of course, Sweetwater service is unbeatable.
Nice clean EQ
I run this in the effects loop of my Tonedexter preamp. It puts a finishing polish on my tone. LR Baggs make dependable gear.
LR Baggs Align EQ
I wouldn't say blown away. But works great and I recommend it for acoustic players. It does it's job well. I was a little turned off when I seen it was made in China. But I got past that. Just didn't expect China from a boutique company like LR Baggs. And would gladly have paid another 25 to 50.00 for it if it was made in America.
