Best in class

By Wilber B. from Miami Beach, FL

We tried a Headrush Looperboard for church, but transitions still felt clumsy. The Aeros let us map sections, stay locked with MIDI, and keep volunteers oriented with the color screen. Everything flows more naturally now.

The BeatBuddy’s Best Friend

By Darrick L. from Miami Beach, FL

As a drummer running BeatBuddy, I tested other loopers but the Aeros stands out. It follows the BeatBuddy's part changes, starts, and stops perfectly. The band stays locked in, even during complex arrangements.

Capturing Ideas Instantly

By Keaton B.

I dislike losing ideas to slow menus, and the Aeros solves that with a clear touch UI and easy quantize settings. Saving to an SD card makes it a portable writing hub. It feels like a mini workstation that fits on my pedalboard.

Live Stream Ready

By Dante Z.

For streaming, the Aeros combines reliability, speed, and visuals that keep viewers engaged. The arrangement grid ensures I always have the next section ready, and touch faders let me adjust levels mid-chat. Viewers notice the polished transitions.

Clean Low End for Bass Players

By Pablo C. from 20737 Roscoe Blvd Unit 301 Winnetka, CA 91306

Most loopers make bass sound muddy, but the true stereo signal path here keeps the low end defined even when layering chords and percussion.

MIDI Precision Without the Hassle

By Carlos V.

When synced via MIDI to my synth rig, the Aeros keeps time flawlessly for the entire set. Switching between quantized and free-time loops is effortless. This level of precision without slowing me down is rare.

Seamless BeatBuddy Integration

By Stephanie M.

As a band leader using the BeatBuddy, I need everything in sync. The Aeros changes sections, pauses, and selects songs right along with it. If you own a BeatBuddy, this looper is a perfect match.

Best Choice for Church Leaders

By Wiley T.

When running church music, the Aeros offers MIDI start/stop, tempo sync, and the ability to run parallel and sequential loops together. Transitions feel natural and creative possibilities expand far beyond other loopers I have tried.

Friendly Arrangement Power

By Richard C.

my old looper could handle two tracks, which worked for simple verse/chorus builds. The Aeros gives me six tracks per part across six parts and stays perfectly synced via MIDI. Quantized or free-time recording with a visual timeline makes my drops land exactly where I want.

My New Favorite Looper

By Leonard.Wyman

This looper lets me craft songs the way I would in a DAW but directly on the floor. The 6x6 layout turns arrangements into a clear map on the color touch display. Quick visual feedback and undo functions make it essential for my live gigs.

Excellent but complex

By Doc from Brickport NY
Music Background: 50 years playing guitar. 20 years as worship leader.

The Aeros looper is excellent and there are many how to videos. However none address my application. It will take me some time and communication with SS support to get up and running. I am not looping at live shows; rather I want to set up permanent tracks for 50 songs with Beat Buddy drums and rhythm guitar. So far I have not found a video that addresses this.

Powerful Unit. Hard to use.

By Aaron R. from YUKON, OK

I recognize how extremely powerful this is. But, it is very complicated and just isn't for me.
My representative Derek Kemp helped me get this returned for another device.
Sweetwater always does right.

This is a very clunky device. It is hard to use.
The timing in the unit feels off and I can't get tracks synced.
I am passed the return date and regret buying this.....

Great looper but very deep

By Randall J. from Hawaii
Music Background: Church and Polynesian show player

As a newbie looper, I'm able to use this looper to accomplish creating tracks that I use for performances. I regret to say I have yet to utilize it in the manner it was intended. I still struggle with parts creation and playback, even after watching quite a few YouTube videos. This looper allows me to create the background tracks I need with a much smaller footprint than a laptop computer, but I know there a lot more I can do with it, just lack the knowledge or skill to pull it off.

Waste of time and money

By Chris C. from Waxhaw, NC

This thing is way too complicated. Loses songs. Then it just stopped recording altogether. I barely used it. Every time I tried to work with it was an exercise in frustration. The manual is not helpful at all and customer support is email only, and says they will get back to you in 2 days. Totally unacceptable.

Goodbye Ditto.... Hello Midi synch....

By Don F. from Ohio
Music Background: Amateur for 30 years....

I have been using a Ditto X4 for the last couple of years. Although the midi synch was close with the BeatBuddy, it does not compare to the Aeros. Learning the basics took about 15 minutes and within a couple days, songs were coming together quickly. Highly recommend if you own a BeatBuddy or just love looping.

Brilliant looper

By Chloe from Tampa
Music Background: Semi-pro

Finally a looper that pushes the state of the art of looping forward! Love how you can see the loops on the screen, the song part section function and the hands free mixer with the foot wheel. Best looper out there by far.

Update to my March 2022 Review, Recent software updates have moved it to a 4 star review from a 2 1/2 star review last year.

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Experienced hobbyist. Play out 2 or 3 times a month

Last year I shelved the unit for playing live because of not being able to use set lists and effectively managed your recorded songs. ! wanted to be able to quickly change to the next song using my foot in the set list without having to go to the full menu of songs. Also had some syncing issues when stopping and or stopping the loop mid song, it lost it's sync with the Beat Buddy drummer.

Both of these issues have been fixed in recent software updates. It is much easier to create set lists, have back up of songs using the external SD card along with the internal memory. With the use of the slide out menu it is easy to go to the next song using your foot. They have fixed the sync issue after pausing and restarting the loop, or to start a prerecorded loop mid song.

Singular sound has been very responsive after listening to users comments about their product and seem to be continually rolling out new updates.

Singular Sound has a user forum and will respond to comments/questions. Plus they do answer their emails within 1 or 2 days to help you figure it out if stuck.

I give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star review only because of the learning curve.

Long story short it is now a great unit to use live and as time goes by am able increase how I use it with multiple parts. The Aeros is now my go to looper. Started out mainly in 2x2 mode but now working on some new songs using the 6x6 mode. So far so good. :)

Also check out the gold addition, not much more $$s with much better foot buttons.

Overrated

By Luke from FL
Music Background: 20 year guitarist

Owned this and Beatbuddy for about 2 weeks. Sold both to get Boss RC-500 and much happier with a lot more $ in my pocket. Singular Sound does not live up to the hype. The software is buggy, buggy and buggy. The hardware is ok. Should be about half the price. Couldn't even get "reverse" as they are "working" on it-like everything else. Some junk video from the development team said it works with midi maestro though; just have to spend another $ and deal work probably more buggy software headaches. Done! Sticking with my buddy Roland.

Just ‘okay’

By Sweetwater Customer

Works as advertised, and is in a sturdy housing. Good size. But the screen responsiveness is very poor. Often touching it results in no results, requiring multiple attempts. Also it only does one thing really, so for me it's overly simplistic. Maybe okay as a floor pedal only, but as a desktop looping solutions, I'll pass.

Not for gigging musicians!

By Jonathan from California
Music Background: Cloudship

DO NOT GET THIS PEDAL IF YOU ARE A FULL TIME MUSICIAN! If any thing happens to the screen it's not even covered under warranty. If you play every weekend, you know the odds of stuff happening to your gear increases, especially on dark stages. In my case I drop a power supply on the screen and when I powered it on the screen was cracked. The only thing they offered was a 30% discount on a new pedal

best looper ? easiest to use !

By Sweetwater Customer

Had a few cheaper loopers and this is by far the best looper for making easy visual tracks. Sound quality is above others and may be the easiest to use? Already released firmware updates since purchase so the team is continually improving it. In my setup of guitar and keyboards, I treat this like another instrument to use in phrasing, design, practicing, compositions, experimentations, and recording.

Overpriced, Poor Service Troubleshooting, Integration with BB less than expected

By Rick H. from Greer, SC
Music Background: Accomlisthed, Lifelong w/ multiple instruments, pro some years

If you didn't think the Beat Buddy was overpriced and one dimensional, then pairing it up with the Aeros at over twice the price, will provide a combination that is clunky, inconsistent, and poorly supported. This is the worst musical investment I have made in 30 years. Beat Buddy service personnel do nothing more than paste questions, requesting videos, which I provided, and clearly don't understand the features and troubleshooting of their own product. This experience was a nightmare, and it was mostly due to a defective Singular Sound cable. The SS tech would not call me as I had requested, and I troubleshooted this joke-toy combo pair on my own. SS needs to train their staff in more than pasting verbose text on an email, and thinking that cuts it. Disappointed with product, and its poor integration with BB, and most of all the factory not even willing to apologize or re-reimburse me for a bad breakout cable. I have over $1000 is this bundle, and I can't return it, and I don't even want to use it any more. I will sell it, and take the loss. Done with Singular Sound. Crappy product, crappy support.

Super inspirational !

By Tim K. from Coatesville, PA

I purchased this after already having a beat buddy and midi maestro for a couple years and so glad I did ! Very inspirational tool for your music mind and very fun to fiddle with and discover all its functionality, I play my helix with a couple other choose boutique pedals through my line line 6 power cab and it sounds amazing, I never been more satisfied with a purchase of a recording device in my venture of guitar over the last 30 years , for some it might not do everything you want it to do but what it does do is 2nd to none ,I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a looper pedal especially if you have or looking into getting a beat buddy and/or mini Maestro

New firmware updates make this a BRAND NEW product!

By Mickey K. from Nashville, TN

I agree with some earlier reviews that the initial launch of Aeros was buggy, but Singular Sound has released frequent updates (they download automatically on your looper because the Aeros has a WiFi chip) and now it does EVERYTHING promised and MORE! Honestly, this is head and shoulders above any looper because of all the updates.

Any other company would stop development once they got your money, but Singular Sound has released like 40 automatic updates over the last 3 years and it seems like the updates and new features are becoming more frequent.

Do yourself a favor and get this looper. It's already the best looper out there (I've bought them all). Much like you, it gets better by the day.

A

By Chet G. from Captain Cook, HI
Music Background: 60+ years performing, 53 years studio work/producing, 20+ years looping

I was really, really hoping that this pedal would be a step up from my Digitech loopers - mainly by allowing more than 2 channels and one loop. The 6 x 6 option was intriguing. So I bought one last June (2021).

First, if you're going to use this pedal in a live looping situation, you had better spend the extra money for the Midi Maestro as well. There's just no way to operate it smoothly while playing your instrument with just the 4 pushbuttons provided. So now we're up to around $ for a LOOPER. (I already had a beat buddy that I rarely used in performance 'cause it's noisy.)

Which would be all right if it WORKED. Alas, even after updating to the latest firmware (3 times), this thing still has FATAL bugs in the software.

The latest problem I uncovered has been cutting off loops that were already recorded. I recorded 5 tracks in 2 parts using different instruments for one song. The song was playing back fine. I came back a few days later and it would only play back the first 2 minutes or so of the song. I took the card to my computer and my computer said the card needed checking. After cleaning up the card, I found that the loops were OK, they were full length and played fine in the computer. But when I played the song back in the Aeros, it didn't play the entire song as recorded - same issue.

And of course, they've never seen fit to give us the ability to import loops into a song, so even though I have completely useable loops, I cannot use them in this looper.

And the connector on the Maestro is flaky - it often loses contact with the looper and I have to push the midi connector in hard and then re-boot the Aeros. Another performance deal killer.

(Oh, and the beat buddy is still noisy).

So, kids, this Professional musician who's been looping for over 20 years has $ of hardware that he can't use for performing and doesn't trust for practicing.

Good working loop station, but a bit complex for using live

By Steve
Music Background: Played in various bands, now doing solo or due laid-back gigs.

Have had for a few weeks, It was a very appreciated Christmas gift.

After a brief learning curve was really liking how you can sync this to the Beat Buddy.

Now getting ready to go live, when things fall apart.

1. You have to knell to the floor to change songs.
2. You can set a set order, you have to scroll or search for the next song you want to do.
3. When you are life you need a much simpler interface, the unit kind ruins stage presence.

On the forums Singular says some of the features needed for live are under development but that does not help me now.

Debating right now as to sell it or hang of to wait for future up dates.

Bottom line, it is very powerful, like advertised similar features as you would find in a DAW.

For now I need something simpler to operate live.

The king of looper pedals?

By Stephen C. from Janesville, WI

Are you a guitar looping pro looking to up your game? Are you frustrated by the limitations of conventional looper pedals? Then look no further than the Aeros Loop Studio! This looper pedal is housed in a reasonably compact form factor but delivers on a ton of audio looping power... just don't take that power too far.

Don't be deceived by the word "studio" in the name, this pedal is primarily focused as a performance tool, either just for jamming along with yourself or in a live setting. With up to 6 full loops you can play along to (in stereo!!) with practically unlimited duration for most scenarios, this is basically the ultimate live looper pedal. While any live musician could take advantage of this, it feels most at home on a guitarist's pedalboard which is where I keep mine, and basically does anything I would need a looper to do in that context. I could see live keyboardists or vocalists loving this during performances as well.

From a live perspective, they absolutely nailed the user interface. The screen is touch-sensitive, but you never need to actually touch the screen while you're playing as you can do almost anything from the footswitches (which are really solid by the way and have a satisfying "click"). The color and size makes it trivial to see how many loops you currently have and where you are in a loop's position. This interface does this better than almost any looper I've seen; the newest loopers in the BOSS lineup get close but aren't quite there yet.

However, if you are looking to integrate this into an electronic music setup or studio, make sure you understand what the Aeros can and can't do. I think Singular Sound have made a great product here, but it seems like they sometimes oversell the possibilities. Sure, it has the possibility of being used as a sort of 6-track tape machine, but even after many great firmware updates it just does not excell at this. Only recently has the MIDI capabilities originally hinted at been delivered in a firmware update, and its MIDI clock syncing implementation has been buggy for a lot of people, including me. Which if you're trying to turn the Aeros into a tape recorder could be a deal-breaker.

In conclusion, this is an excellent looper and fulfills its original purpose with flying colors, but I would advise against trying to make this out to be something more than it currently is or you might be disappointed. Singular Sound is still active with firmware updates and communicates with their users pretty openly, so who knows, maybe one day it will be a killer recording device as well. But generally it is wiser to buy gear based on what it can do today and not what it might be able to do in a future update.

Best looper EVER!

By Sweetwater Customer

Hands down best looper over ever used! Simple to operate, sound quality is amazing and when linked via midi to the beat buddy it makes for some amazing fun.

A year later

By Jesse D. from FLETCHER, NC

Decent looper but not at all what they advertised. I went all in and purchased this looper, the midi maestro, and beat buddy only to be disappointed. It lacks so many features! You can't delete tracks individually, can't trigger part changes effectively with the beat buddy, has next to no available midi commands available (can't even trigger record/overdub using midi foot switch) and is basically an overpriced beta test product. Glitches all the time and has phantom noises in the loops. Very limited in inputs and outputs.

Not good and here's the worst of it.

By Ztonemonster from USA
Music Background: Musician, Songwriter, Producer, Recording Engineer.

The deal breaker for me is there is not a functional undo feature or a delete single track option.
Worse than that if you hold down the Play-Stop All button a window comes up to "Delete All Tracks" which is the most destructive command in digital history! why would anyone do that is beyond me. It gets worse if you select that option, that's it everything is gone. There is no warning that says "Are You Sure You want To Delete All Tracks". OMG, Even a cell phone will warn you and ask if you're sure you want to delete a text but not Singular Sound. If you search long and hard there are directions on how to undo a track recording or an overdub but they are very unreliable and work rarely in actual use. Be advised, there is a small window of forgiveness to use undo and if you miss it the track becomes totally useless and the only option is to mute it otherwise you get to delete all the tracks just for the fun of it I guess. I must have lost 5 to 10 "songs" because of these issues and it's extremely annoying and frustrating. The **** thing actually deleted all the tracks in two songs without touching the on-button window or the lower right foot switch. Rrrrrrrrrrrrr! After all that I updated the firmware and now the midi-sync between the Beat Buddy is completely screwed up. That aside, IMHO there needs to be a simple way to "undo" period. If I'm having these kind of problems just making songs playing live is impossible. Overall the looper is not seamless like the manufacturer videos want you to believe. The manufacturer should really add another button selection when you're viewing the volume controls to all six tracks. In that view there is a mute/un-mute button for each track but in that same window there should be a "delete" button to delete a selected track. Last, if you read the forums these problems have been going on for a long, long time so maybe Singular Sound just doesn't give a care. Bottom line, save your $... and save yourself a lot of grief.

Best looper by far - and constantly improving!

By Billy from Orlando
Music Background: Pro

Already the best looper by far. Been using it for about 4 months and it's rock solid. Never crashes like the headrush looperboard I had previously. Every month or so there's an update over the wifi which makes it even better. Singular Sound has an awesome forum where they're very open with what is being worked on and they listen to their customers and implement suggestions. I even had a small feature I requested actually done which is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen a music company do.

CRASHES...A LOT

By Allen D. from Brooksville, FL

I think this is a terrific idea, which is why I purchased such an expense pedal unit. It's a great concept that is not executed well. It constantly crashes. To the point that it's almost better not using it, if you want to save your loops and work. I can't tell you how many times it crashes while trying to save a project. It crashes most of the time when I'm trying to load a previously saved project. It's horribly unreliable. Not sure if it's hardware or software. I believe it's hardware. I don't think it has enough processing power.

I would advise NOT buying it. Wait until their next version. It's simply not worth the frustrating experience at this point.

I wanted to love this thing...

By Nicole from Florida
Music Background: Professional musician and audio engineer

I really wanted to love this pedal. Tiny foot print, a multitude of options... who wouldn't want it??

But after getting it, and working with it, I realized there is one HUGE issue for me...

First, I only loop my guitar—no Beat Buddy, no MIDI Maestro— so it is always set to "Freeform." The first couple of months I had it, I suspect there were issues with the firmware or something, because at times, I was unable to select "Freeform," and at other times, I could only select the 2x2 mode while in "Freeform."

To be fair, after I updated to the latest firmware (via WiFi, those issues went away)...

Still, not the best way to try and get started...

Second, and most importantly... NO STOP BUTTONS anywhere to be found. Normally while looping, you have Rec/Overdub & Stop buttons...

There is literally no stop button.

You have to toggle over to the Mixer screen (from the wave-view screen, which is where you initially record the loop) and select the track you want to mute, but the loop continues playing underneath (albeit muted) until you "Stop All."

For the life of me, I cannot figure how this would be helpful/useful in literally any situation (unless you are using a BeatBuddy to keep track of where you are I guess)...

Unless I am looping more than one track, I only have visual cues from the wave-view screen to try and guess where my muted track is to come back in in the right place, but, I can't even do that unless I want to toggle back to the wave-view screen (FROM) the mixer screen (where I have to be to mute my tracks).

I am trying to play music, not be a tech while using a pedal.

I have to put this thing on Reverb unfortunately.

I am super sad to even write this review, but I contacted Tech Support, who was super nice, and we tried every which way to try and accomplish what I wanted to get done. No dice; and they said there were no plans to even expand functionality to include a "Stop" button (I even offered to buy the MIDI Maestro for expanded functionality. Still no dice).

I guess this setup could be fine for some. Without a "Stop" button, this pedal is useless to me :-/

Half Baked!

By Ron S. from Maine
Music Background: Recording Artist

I really like the concept of this looper, and some of the interface execution is good. But... This is half baked looper. It's lacking quite a bit of midi functionality, and that's not great. It seems almost that they are dragging their feet quite heavily on finishing the standalone Aeros looper, because they want to sell you the Beat Buddy and or Midi Meastro products. While I'm sure that these products do a very fine job of expressing full blown midi functionality with the Aeros, who wants to spend Eighteen Hundred Bucks on a Aeros Looper pedal+.

It's obvious to me, that the Aeros looper could do midi very well, but it's just not there unless you buy one or more of their other pairings. If you look at most of their videos online, and then the text on their website and community, one can easily see how much emphasis they place of having the other products coup[led with the Aeros. Quite a bit! It leads me to believe that they will develop future midi features verrryyy slowly in hopes of selling the pairings.

Singular Sound also promises many future features, expounds on the many new engineers they've hired to do the coding, but I say they should have released a much more completed product before charging a premium price for a half baked product. And PLEASE de-couple your other products from the timely and proper development the Aero.

I end up feeling played, rather hard by Singular Sound.

It's OK, but not for studio or intimate settings.

By Tony

This is a super slick and seemingly well built product, but I ditched mine because the buttons click too loudly. Some folks may like the positive feedback of the loud click, but it's really annoying for studio work or intimate settings. Sticking with Boss RC-500 and RC-505.

One other thing. I found Singular Sound customer service to be substandard.

Good Start...with quirks

By Allen

It was hard deciding how to rate this. It is a great pedal concept, and it has a lot of potential. You can loop 2X2 or 6X6. It's fairly easy to use. Nice color screen, and the rounded switches are terrific.

So why only 3 stars? Several reasons.

1) Not an ideal or intuitive home screen layout. Several of the menu tiles are a waste of space, and actually hurt this product, in my opinion, significantly. Why? If you want to capture a creative idea, you have to menu dive. In addition, when you go to open a new song idea, the Aeros opens up the last song idea that you had. This is a slow process. It takes a while to open the last song idea. Not great if you're trying to capture a spontaneous rhythm or solo idea.

2) One of the tiles is an "Update Tile". I've NEVER got this device to update over the wifi (which is a problem for many on their forums). Making this tile a waste of valuable space. The fact that is doesn't even work after being out for over a year is not a good sign.

3) Another tile is "The Manual". This is great, but how long do you need access to a very short manual? Ultimately, another wasted space.

4) After starting a new idea, it's a pain to make small adjustments to the tempo. You better get that tap tempo perfect the first time. Once you start recording and need to go back to slow it down or speed it up incrementally (if you realize it's just a little off), you have to delete your project, and then menu dive to make an adjustment. Not intuitive, for me, at least.

5) It suffers from random glitches and freezes up from time to time. Sometimes erasing or not saving a song idea. I've lost songs going back the next day only to find it wasn't saved (even after saving it properly).

Conclusion: Cool pedal. Great concept. It's not fully realized. Who knows if it ever will be. They have released a few updates over the year, which is nice, but the features I mentioned above are not something they have current plans to fix or change.

Ultimately, I needed to dust off my Ditto looper for those spontaneous moments. The Aeros has the potential to be your only looper, but doesn't appear that will happen. I would recommend owning a standard looper first. I don't use it as often as I would like because of the layout and cumbersome processes.

AWESOME

By Mark K. from Beautiful Melbourne Florida
Music Background: Pro musician for 50+ years, retired, loving life and my wife

I own a lot of loopers by TC and Boss plus some you never heard of, you'll find them ALL on Reverb very soon. The Aeros has landed and it is amazing.

The Aeros display kills every other looper out there. Finally I can tell exactly where I'm at with zero guess work. Combining Aeros with Beat Buddy (both by Singular Sound) is a match made in Heaven. Fills, alternate parts, simple and reliable navigation, mono or stereo, excellent sound quality, it's the best looping system ever!

The buttons are kind to my feet, I like to play barefoot or in socks, these big mushroom head buttons are easy on the feet.

The sound quality is incredible, I'm playing it through my small Bose PA and the Aeros delivers big high fidelity sound quality.

The Aeros physical size is just as big as it needs to be, much more convenient than my big Boss looper that feels like an aircraft carrier (it's currently collecting dust in my storage room). The build quality on both Aeros and Beat Buddy is very good. Solid and made of metal not plastic.

Hard sync with the Beat Buddy drum machine is liberating. OK my Boss had tight sync too but the compact Aeros and Beat Buddy team are so much easier to use and it's simple to trigger fills and alternate parts which makes the music more interesting and engaging. Dare I say, more like a band?

Can you tell I'm a fan of this dynamic duo, Aeros and Beat Buddy.

Not the cheapest way to loop but definitely the best. I recently had major cancer surgery and recovery is painful and slow but these two gadgets combined with a few other pedals and amps have made my days a lot brighter and recovery a lot more fun. The photos are from my kitchen where I'm sitting next to my wife while she does miniature oil paintings of birds. She's my biggest fan and she loves the music I'm making with my Singular Sound products.

Thank you Sweetwater, fast shipping, great prices on the products I want. I could not be happier. 10 out of the last 10 items I bought from Sweetwater shipped the same day I ordered them and arrived here in Florida in 3 or 4 days, WoW. Thank you again, it's why I keep buying from the best internet music store.

BTW that's my new Gibson SG Tribute in the photo another amazing instrument from Sweetwater.

Good music to all!

King of Loopers

By Michael C. from McKinney TX
Music Background: Professional, classically trained pianist, guitarist and composer.

The best of the more complicated loopers like the Boss and the Boomerang 3. About as easy as it can get for something that will do this much. I especially like saving to SD card and bring loops in as tracks to DAW. Audio quality is great and no glitches that I've seen of heard so far. I wish they could eliminate the double taps but I'm sure they'll update this device and maybe we'll get an even simpler looper. I like this pedal a lot and can recommend it if your looping needs go beyond just a single, ditto style looper.

Very powerful for the footprint

By Victor
Music Background: Gigging musician

Design is very clever. Very easy to use and small footprint. Was able to sell my RC-300 monster and get this little gadget, which is even easier to use and more powerful. Really love the onscreen mixer that lets me fade the individual tracks in and out with the scroll wheel during a performance. Sound quality is excellent.

Amazing for a beginner or advanced looper artist

By Greg from NYC
Music Background: Longtime hobbyist

I've been playing music for quite a while now but just recently got into looping. I started with a simple looper (ditto) and realized that I'm not that good at the precise timing required to close the loop on beat. Also for long loops sometimes I'd forget where the loop start/stop point was which threw off my timing too. That took me down the rabbit hole of looking into all the different loopers out there. I tried a bunch of different ones and then finally settled on the Aeros because of the visual feedback. Now I'm finally getting into looping! It's just way easier with the quantization timing options and the visual feedback. And I can tell this thing can do SO much more than what I'm using it for so I'm excited to grow into my new looping skills with this amazing device. I highly recommend it for the beginner or the advanced looper artists.

Amazing

By Todd from Wichita

Comparing Aeros to other loopers is a like comparing a spaceship to a horse and buggy. I'm not one for long reviews. Just my 2 cents.

I frickin' LOVE this thing!!!

By Jessica H. from New York
Music Background: semi-pro

I just got this unit and there was a firmware update available (version 3.0) as soon as I connected to wifi (how cool is that?!!). I love that updating the software is as easy as updating your phone, this is the looper for the 21st century. I love how I can see the waveforms of the music as I record, looks gorgeous and also gives valuable visual feedback which makes it easier to loop. It feels more like a recording studio than a pedal (I guess that's why they called it the 'loop studio').

Also, having 6 parallel tracks and 6 song parts make the musical possibilities practically unlimited. Genius. I've seen some people say that this unit has a bit of a learning curve, and I think that's true only because you have so many options of how to loop. Do you want the song to be quantized or freeform? Do you prefer just having a verse/chorus section and have easy immediate access to all functions (what they call 2x2 mode - 2 song parts and 2 parallel tracks) or do you want the more powerful 6 song part/track capability (6x6 mode) that requires a two step process to first select the part and then activate it (since you're not just switching between 2 parts like 2x2). Each setting has it's own advantages and disadvantages but I love having the option. And since there's a touchscreen, there's an on-screen explanation for every setting, so you don't even need to open the manual.

Also the hands free mixer with the scroll wheel -- love it!!

I love how much power this thing has with such a tiny footprint. But I want even more, so I'm thinking about getting the MIDI Maestro to give it even more capabilities. I love the modular approach, you can keep it simple (still super awesome) or you can go crazy and get really advanced and customize it to your style. Been playing with this non-stop. Can't stop. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Awesome looper for new to looping.

By Dean from Kent ohio
Music Background: Hobby room jammers

Love it makes it easy for creating loops.never tried looping before and the tech makes up for my lack of toe tapping ability and by the 3rd loop it's starting to sound like something. I'm running a tr-8 through midi with a guitar and bass. The latest update has really fixed the bugs and it seems like it's being updated often with better features. It's a keeper and keeping me sane while socially distancing.

New firmware update made it perfect (May 8, 2020)

By Shannon from Texas
Music Background: Pro

I've had this looper for a few months now and I really loved it right from the beginning. It was missing a few things (like storing on the SD card, muting at the end of the measure / loop settings, etc) but they've been coming out with new firmware updates regularly and the latest firmware version 3.0 solved all my last issues I had, so I can honestly say this looper is now perfect for me.

I've used the Boss RC-300. the Boomerang 3, the TC Electronics X4 and the Pigtronix Infinity, so I've had lots of looping experience, but none of them come close to how good the Aeros is.

Things I like about it:

1. Sound Quality - amazing. Like a studio.
2. Visual display - beautiful and just makes looping much easier and intuitive.
3. 6 parallel tracks - so many possibilities
4. 6 song parts - full arrangements on the fly!! No other looper can do it like this.
5. Hands free mixer with the volume wheel
6. Wifi updates! Can't believe this is the first pedal to ever do this
7. The company really listens to the users and improves things. They have a very active forum on their website and take everyones suggestions seriously. I've requested improvements from other companies, and they NEVER actually do it. This is huge.

Best looper out there by far

By Bob from Las Vegas
Music Background: Pro

Gorgeous visual display makes looping so much easier -- I can SEE the music I'm making. It's a gamechanger. Sound quality is the best I've ever heard in a looper, truly studio level. The combo of parallel tracks and song parts makes this extremely powerful, I'm making multi part song arrangements, not just little loops I layer over. Love the volume wheel and the hands free mixing of the tracks, makes the performance much more dynamic and interesting. And everything in a small compact unit that fits right on my pedal board.

And they're improving this consistently. I tried the beta firmware (2.17.2) from the Singular Sound forum (April 14, 2020) and it has so many more features and improvements, it's like a whole new product. The company is very active in responding to customers and taking suggestions so I feel confident this will just keep getting better. And it's already the best looper I've ever tried.

Works as advertised

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: 40yrs

I disagree with the negative reviews. I do not have any sync issues with beat buddy, sd card works, wifi works. You do have to learn how to use it.
Customer service i have not needed. i do agree that the start/stop on the upper left is not the best location. I originally had a ditto 4x that had a fatal crash within a year of purchase.

No SD card function nor additional listed functions - March 15th 2020

By TexasSession from Austin
Music Background: Professional

My only real frustration is the fact I researched, bought and started the process of using the Aeros looper based on the printed specs here at Sweetwater on this product page and watching the videos. I have just learned after hours of trouble-shooting and trial and error that some of the BASIC relevant, real-world required features listed are not available or active, not even the built in SD card reader. These will be for 'potential' future updates. The main challenge with this reality is that these are LISTED as features and functions that come with the unit. The SD card is shown in all Aeros demo vids, shown in the manual and all printed specs including this page, the 'compare loopers' page, manual etc as an INCLUDED feature. The level of irresponsibility by wasting a user time, selling a product by listing feature that does not exist is beyond understandable. I feel incredibly frustrated. I now have no looper, but I do have a super negative taste for Singular Sound. My sales person loses a sale, SW pays for shipping twice and the company loses any possible trust or potential for future purchases. I am 100% cool with knowing a feature is 'coming' at some point with an update, I can buy knowing this. I can get arond Aeros clunky undo function, earse function, lack of count-in for new tracks, and multiple missing features... But when I buy a product specifically BECAUSE it includes a basic useful feature, listed and shown in the product videos and then receive the product, trouble-shoot, read the manual, update the unit, just to find out I was duped, lied to or misled just so the sale could happen, that is a 100% deal breaker for me. Poor customer service Aeros. Really foolish approach on such a great sounding looper. Just list the truth. I can't imagine why that would be so challenging for you.

Looping for advanced loopers

By Cameron D. from Nevada
Music Background: Full time performer/musician

I have had the AEROS for a couple of weeks now. So far it's really cool! Very compact, and has great sound quality. It's definitely more complex than my RC-300 setup but there's potential for a lot of different things that you could never do with the RC. You can save specific parts of songs or sets of loops like part 1 and part 2 = verse and chorus etc and seamlessly transition into them all in time with the loops you've set. Really cool. It's almost like having a mini DAW and loop pedal in one. You can also send out a click track signal from an output which could be extremely useful for doing loops with other musicians. This is something I've always found difficult with the RC and other loopers because some musicians have trouble playing along to loops without a click or something.

However, some of the things I like about the RC-300 the AEROS cannot do YET. Like tempo detection, i.e., starting a groove, taping record to loop it, and then the pedal automatically sets the BPM based on what you're playing. However, according to the company, this is something they're planning on implementing.

If you're a veteran looper, there is definitely some next-level stuff this thing can do.

Not Even Close

By Victor from Princeton
Music Background: Professional giging guitarist.

I prefer the Boss RC-3 over the Aeros Looper. The pedal layout (on off) on Areos is on the top left. It’s very easy to hit another switch. The synchronization with Beat Buddy is glitchy and can come out of time making it useless and non musical. The Areos has firmware still in production- NO SD Card, No Bluetooth, No WIFi Apps, No iPhone of iPad apps, No USB functions. No ability to save on SD cards. It’s to finicky and unstable to trust for live performance in my opinion. I’m Sending it back! Unless you have lots of time and you want a headache and you know that it’s going to glitch out on you and fail I would stay away from this product for now maybe in a year or two they work out the kinks and it will become stable. This seem like a promising product but for my uses it does not deliver. The only functionality that was positive was that you could start the Beat Buddy and that would trigger the looper. However if you try to start the loop or from the Beat Buddy I could not get that to work . Also other a few other things to note. Also other a few other things to note. The pedal build has some issues that I could see down the road there’s a huge opening for the SD card and it feeds directly to the inside of the unit and you can see the like Tronics I could see moisture dust and dirt easily getting in there since most of us have the pedal on the ground. The pedal build has some issues that I could see down the road there’s a huge opening for the SD card and it feeds directly to the inside of the unit and you can see the like Tronics I could see moisture dust and dirt easily getting in there since most of us have the pedal on the ground. If you have other petals next to this pedal on the side it’s very easy for the pedal to touch the on off switch. This is not a huge issue but I’m concerned if your petals are not mounted firmly and they slightly touched to the side they could turn the pedal off. The construction of the unit is not as solid and strong as a boss stomp pedal. The mini synchronization between the beat buddy Has glitches and will at times come in and out of time if you readjust the tempo one unit may not communicate to the other and there will be out of time issues. I found when I change songs that were saved internally on the Aeros looper it did not communicate or re-populate the information to the Beach Body and vice a versa from the beat buddy to the looper so every time the song was switched I would have to make sure that all the beats per minute or on both units before starting. Ultimately down the road maybe this product will be more reliable and will be usable but from my usage there’s no way I could trust us on stage for a paid performance.
