Awesome Acoustic Amp

By Bob C. from Victoria ,TX
Music Background: Amateur entertainer.

I had Alex help me to pick the right amp for my needs, it was an upgrade to what I had. I'm very please with this selection, and it has great sound. much better than my last inexpensive amp. Alex answered all my questions and help me to setup a account with Sweetwater. A huge thanks to him for his professional service and knowledge.

Save your money and get a Bose or something else. This thing is not even a good bedroom amp. I just tried one out. My S1 still rules big time.

Big sound, little package

By Sweetwater Customer

I bought the Acoustic 100 to replace my Fishman Loudbox Mini (pre-bluetooth). That was a great little amp. Then this puppy came along and made the Loudbox pretty much obsolete. Great sound, cool effects, small footprint... what's not to love? Well, the excess bass for one thing. Took some dialing-in to get the right tone from 2 Taylors -- one 6 string & one 12. The indicator lights on the top panel are super bright; so much so that they blot out the labels, so keep a glowstick handy until you memorize the position of the lit indicator. It's a lot of amp for the money, & the Taylor girls dig it once I got the tone chemistry right.

Bass hum makes it unusable

By Wes

Maybe it is just my beloved Martin, but this Fender amp is essentially useless to me. I bought it new and haven't used it for a single recording and rarely even in practice. The reason is the low end, A and E strings, buzz out and overpower everything else. I have to tweak the EQ on my guitar so that it sounds like a banjo to even use this amp, which of course makes it useless. I've tried adjusting the Low knob to zero, putting the amp on a table, using different cords, putting distance between myself and the amp - nothing works. I plan on trading it in locally.

Get the Loudbox Instead

By Greasy B. from KENT, OH
Music Background: No Grammy nominations yet.

Been using a Fishman Loudbox Mini for years for solo gigs. Love it. 'Cos I started playing in a trio, thought I'd upgrade a bit. Got the Fender Acoustic 100. It looks cool and sounds great. But when I A/B'd it next to the Mini, it just wasn't as loud, when what I wanted was more volume. So in my not really very humble opinion, I'd say, if you're looking for this type rig, go with the Loudbox Mini (It's cheaper, too.)

I wound up ordering a Loudbox Artist. Lots more dough, but I know I like the Fishman line.

Perfect for my solo performances

By Pete R. from Virginia, USA
Music Background: Part-time gigging singer songwriter

I went with 4.5 stars only because I've only played one gig with the amp so far. Nevertheless, I am extremely pleased with this piece of equipment. The sound is clean and clear, the EQs and effects are well tuned and musical, and the combo jacks make it a very flexible mini-PA. I run my acoustic guitar through a preamp pedal into channel 1 via XLR cable, and a dynamic vocal mic into channel 2. I can also run my BeatBuddy drum machine into the AUX channel via a Y-style 1/4" to 1/8" stereo cable. I have to use the volume knob on the pedal to control the drum mix, but that's simple enough. If I need to play music before/between sets, the bluetooth connects easily to my phone. I've also experimented with running my electric through pedals into the amp, and that sounded fantastic, too! On top of everything, the natural wood finish just looks good and visually complements my Martin acoustic perfectly. It's very lightweight and the built in handle makes carrying it very comfortable. My wife (who OKed the purchase and who has a discerning ear and an eye for design) had only good things to say about it after the show. In small coffee house, it had all the volume I needed at no more than half volume. I am sure this will work great for any show I need to do where the house doesn't provide a PA. I also purchased the cover (which is well made and fits great, with an opening so you can use the handle) and the footswitch (which I haven't really had a chance to use yet; I am looking forward to experimenting with the pre-set effects options). Highly recommended.

Don't waste your money

By Sweetwater Customer

I bought the Fender Acoustic 200 in August of 2020. I was good until it wasn't. Now when I turn on the amp I get loud popping and humming sounds along with annoying distortion and that is without plugging in with my acoustic guitar. When I do plug in it the feed back it unbearable. If I try to connect with the Bluetooth it gets even worse. The amp is unusable. Now the amp is out of warranty, it has been discontinued by Fender and they have no parts for it. Don't do it, if you buy this piece of junk you will eventually regret it. I chose the one star rating (I really dislike) only because there isn't a minus star rating (totally disgusted and a waste of $). Since it has been discontinued the price is down, but if you really want the throw away bucks go for it.

Fender 100watt acoustic amp.

By Scott F. from Westfield, Illinois
Music Background: I’m a solo artist (see UTube video of my original “For All Time”. I play local churches and events.

This small amp has been a tremendous addition to my stage. This versatile amp allows me to use 2-separate guitars on stage and run them both into a PA while using the amp itself as a monitor in smaller venues with no monitors. It also allows me to run my acoustic and a microphone through the amp with separate EQ's.
I love the sound of the acoustic voices amp and its versatility. I love it so much I bought a 2nd one.
But this amp for your acoustic work. I haven't found anything better and that is confirmed from the reviews from the crowd.

A Powerful and Silent Amp

By David M. from Syracuse, NY
Music Background: Professional Band

I was originally looking at less expensive and less powerful (in watts) amps. After some guidance from my Personal Sales Engineer, I decided to suck it up and pony up the money to buy the Fender. What a great purchase and sage advice from Delvin.

First off, the extra power is well suited to the duet with which I currently perform. The duet is acoustic guitar/vocals and drums. The amp is loud enough to play with live drums and the mix between the two channels is awesome. I use one channel for guitar and the other for vocals. Both stand out as separate sounds and recreate the outcome we needed.

The amps is well made, very good looking and easy to operate. When you are not playing or singing, the amp is dead silent! I don't use a lot of the built-in effects, but I find the Room and Hall reverbs very useful for live shows. The amp is powerful enough to mix extremely well with the volume of the live drums.

Sound. The sound is excellent. If you have a decent acoustic pickup built-in to your guitar, this amp recreates the percussive bass and shimmery highs of the instrument.

Spend a little extra and pick up this little baby. It is definitely worth it!

Fender 100

By Ted from Sheffield Village , Ohio
Music Background: Played music all my life

I was downsizing from a big sound system and decided to replace it with something more compact. I expected a little more clarity when using mic. I am not playing large venues any more so I think it will probably work. The digital effects are very good. You can't expect the same sound from one 8 inch speaker compared to a full range cabinet. My Alverz acoustic sounds fantastic. My hat goes off to Carlos and Andrew for great service. There are many places you can buy the same thing but people make the difference. Thanks Carlos and Andrew

Very Versatile Tool

By Barry H. from Austin, TX
Music Background: Long time player, novice studio geek

I have had the Fender Acoustic 100 for about a month, along with the Mustang MS4 foot switch. I wanted a quiet, smaller acoustic amp for my home studio. The Fender has delivered. I have used it on a wide variety of acoustic instruments including a Taylor 514CeN (Nylon string), a 1982 Ovation Legend, Takamine 1998 EF, and a Fender Acoustasonic. The amp performed very well with all of these, even my Lanakai uke. The amp delivered a clearer and crisper tone to the Taylor stock pick-up which a times can be a little muddy especially with the nylon strings. Even the old Ovation was acoustically more articulate. The effects are quiet and subtle enough for acoustic instruments that typically do not need heavy reverb, chorus etc. One can really avoid external pedals for most applications. It is all in the box. The pre-sets are easy to use and the foot switch is a mandatory accessory if you ask me. This is one stop, do it all amp that is portable, and most of all very quiet and accurate for studio use. We like it here at Nanogram Studio.

New Fender Amp.

By George M. from Dayton, Ohio
Music Background: Just wanted to play guitar starting in the mid 60s. Not Sorry. Good Choice.

It is working out just fine. I think it may not have the frequency response on the high end I expected. I am not doing any gigs with it; I just bought it for my own use and enjoyment at home when I play. It is a nice amp. It has enough power to gig with, small to midsize rooms. If you are looking for an all-around descent Amplifier, this could be the rig for you. Honestly, I wish it had a looper. MY BAD. Get with the folks at Sweetwater and they will hook you up. Good People, Good Products, Good customer Service.

Fender Acoustic amp

By marty L.

This really a pretty cool amp. It does everything that it states, and it is wonderfully simple to use. the only drawback is that I thought the one hundred watts would have had more volume. This works great for smaller venues, and I even used it outside with some success. I have yet to try it in a band setting, but I love the ease of use of the amp and the sound, and it's super light.

Great Amp!

By Darrell from Little Rock
Music Background: Pro

I use this in a small venue. It is a small lounge and steakhouse and they like easy-listening music. It works great. It has all the effects you need and it can be loud but can catch the nuances of your performance. The price is more than right for this unit. Be sure to get a cover too. This amp is nice looking so you want to keep it that way. Add the footswitch and you can change effects for voice and guitar with the push of a button. The listeners often comment on my smooth sound and this amp is a part of it.

Not a bad amp but lacks power

By JC from Pacific Northwest
Music Background: Been playing guitar for over 25 years

I currently decided to update my old Fender Acousti-Sonic 100-watt amp with this new much lighter version. The new one is nice and very easy to transport but it lacks power. I was thinking of returning it but decided to keep it as a practice and recording amp. If you're looking for a solo performance amp for small venues this new Fender Acoustic 100 is okay. Also, the effects are a bit on the weak side so additional effects pedals are recommended (especially chorus).

I LOVE THIS AMP! BUT THERE IS ONE PROBLEM

By Sweetwater Customer from OH

I picked this amp up a while ago and really enjoy it. It has plenty of amazing features. Below are a few pros and cons I have.

Pros:
-Super Light Weight and easy to carry.
-Great sound and perfect volume for for a small size venue.
-Two individual channels for your guitar and a mic.
-Over a half dozen presets that all sound great.
-Direct outs to run up to your soundboard if needed.
-Bluetooth to play music from your phone in between sets.

Cons:
-NO MASTER VOLUME, all of the other portable acoustic amps I have used had a master volume knob, this system you have to adjust both your guitar and mic separate.
-May not have enough punch for an outdoor venue

Versatile Acoustic Amp

By Mike S. from Lake Stevens, WA
Music Background: Casual multi-instrumentalist, worship leader.

I have had this amp for over a year and I love it. It is always a good feeling when you find a piece of gear that works for you and doesn't leave you restless for something else. I play my acoustic and Ibanez semi-hollow with it. The on-board effects are usable - the Chorus+Delay is my go to. Of note, I purchased and returned a Fishman Loudbox Mini before bringing the Fender home. The Mini without question is a good amp, I just found this one to be better for me.

Some good points, some not.

By Joe from Baraboo, WI
Music Background: Old hippy coffeehouse type

I didn't return it, so that tells you it's basically okay. I play a dreadnought with a Seymour-Duncan Mag Mic, and a Cordoba Fusion nylon strung through it.
All functions work as described, and the effects are good. Plenty of wattage, no problem there, either.
But the sound just doesn't pop. There's no brilliance. Everything seems a bit dampened…. Even Pandora sound muffled.
But it IS dependable. It is what it is.

Excellent Tone

By Jimmy F. from East Brunswick, NJ
Music Background: Pro Musician

Bought this for smaller, solo acoustic shows and it's perfect. Lightweight, small footprint, looks great and the sound quality is fantastic. The Bluetooth is great for breaks and you can play music from your phone. If you do want more volume for performing, the XLR outs go straight to a house system or a PA system or speaker. Excellent job by Fender!

Great Acoustic Amp

Nice features

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Somewhat experienced as guitar player and sound man

I bought this to use as a PA, music player, and an acoustic guitar amp. The downsides: I have to turn the bass nearly to zero to get the guitar to sound good to me. I have a Fender Telecaster Acoustasonic. For practice, the volume level was adequate, but I want to use the pair at an outdoor show and the amp was barely loud enough even with volume all the way. No distortion but no more head room to keep up with a live band outside.
The amp does sound good, but it'll need miked. The Bluetooth function works well.
I haven't tried the PA in a live setting. I am regularly asked to be the sound guy at various functions, both microphone and music are needed. I haven't use the amp for this purpose yet but it appears as if it will work out for that purpose.

Bottom line, nice acoustic guitar amp, too much bottom, not loud enough for a medium size show.

almost everything you will want

By Biff B. from Pittsburgh Area
Music Background: Keys, Synth, Drums, Guitar, Bass, Music Production and Recording since 1964!

I recently purchased a Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster, and I thought that I should treat it to an acoustic amp. I already own a Fender Villager 12-string Acoustic-Electric and an Epiphone Dot-Studio Semi-Hollow guitars, so my thinking was that I can really put the Fender Acoustic 100 thru the paces. There are a bunch of acoustic amps on the market right now and I was looking for a "brand" name with the best bang for the buck! I finally decided that there is a perfect spot in my home studio for the 100. So maybe aesthetics took precedence over performance. First impression was that it is gorgeous! Well put together yet very light. Smaller than I thought (but aren't they all). As far as the sound. the Acoustasonic still sounds very natural when plugged in. The unit comes with an 8" woofer and a small tweeter built into the front of it. Two negatives for me ... it is Not 100 watts, maybe 40. And, strong to all the way up to 11! The other is the frequency response has all the lows (fullness) that you could ever need, especially with my 12-string, but not enough highs. For all three of my guitars, the bass is set at "0," and the treble is almost all of the way up, and I'm using the mid like the old VOX "tone X" to fine tune the tones. This is a little weird because the Acoustasonic is basically modelling guitar. There are a variety of different pickups on these guitars with little or NO feedback. Great versatility for a little amp, I would recommend to anybody. I've been playing professionally for most of 55 years. I thought Nick at Sweetwater was very patient with me as we waded through all the different models.

fender Acoustic 100

By John f. from South Carolina

This Amp has excellent tone to complement my Martin electric. Definitely, the most bang for your buck. Very easy to dial in the sound your looking for without sacrificing your natural guitar sound. It's like having two amps in one with the second channel with separate controls,if you want to Mike it, or play with a buddy. Great practice amp!.
The guys at Sweetwater are very professional, and care about your experience with them and it shows.

Great amp but bass

By William S. from Philadelohia MS
Music Background: Worship leader and full ti,e minister of music 30 years experience

Great acoustic guitar amp - makes some guitars sound better than any acoustic amp I have ever heard. However, the Lr baggs element and true mic pickups have extremely loud bass on the E string. Some may like this, but I do not. Recently I added an external eq pedal and just turned the lowest bass frequency down. This worked, but I can't say that it helps the over all sound, especially through the house. I would advise people to try it out with the guitar your plan to use before purchasing.

I must say, I was a bit surprised...The clean and clear sound was just super. With just a little adjusting, I have the amp sounding just like the natural sound of my guitar. I really like the selection of effects as well.

Incomparable acoustic tone

By DonM from Charlotte, NC
Music Background: 60+ years as pro and now hobbyist.

I took the oportunity to sit down with a number of acoustic amps at the local guitar shop. This one simply blew the rest away. Using my Taylor T5z into each amp, the Fender has the most realistic acoustic tone of any of the other models. The low end is particularly impressive. It turned out to be one of the easiest decisions I've ever made.

Fender 100 acoustic amp

By Dennis C.

The selling point for me was the Blue Tooth feature as I am a poor guitarist. I used the amp to play one of my favorite songs through my tablet. This particular version of the song was remixed and cleaned up, the sound through the amp was crystal clear, I then went through some classical guitar music and the amp was just wonderful. It is small and compact my loves the fact it looks like a piece of furniture.

Fender Acoustic 100

By Ken M. from Gulf Shores, AL
Music Background: I've been playing for pay since 1964.

I've had one of these amps for several years. I use it for a number of applications.
I do a solo/single as a guitarist and vocalist. I use this amp in this way on gigs:

I play a semi-hollow body electric in restaurants and small bars.
I run my Fender Champ line out into it on one channel and I plug my vocal mic into the other channel.
I go line out from this amp to a powered monitor which I move according to volume needs.
Sometimes it's aimed just at myself or, when a place is larger or more crowded, at the audience.

On breaks I use the bluetooth feature to play Youtube music in my favored genre at very moderate
levels and it sounds great.

...I had no idea if I'd use it for acoustic guitar at the time but now it's a stalwart, light,
and appealing looking part of my set up.

The effects features are incredible for vocals and guitar. I use the Hall effect for voice and the Reverb/Echo
effect for guitar.

The overall sound quality is excellent.

Fender Acoustic 100

By Peter N. from Idaho

For my acoustic band this was a great fit. It sounds great, I use a Grace bix pre-amp with my Takamine Santa-fe that is equipped with the cool tube and it all just sings. I also run this through the PA for bigger venues, enough power with the pre-amp. No need for the 200 w I did purchase the cover, that should be included! The foot switch for me is not needed for live performances.

Great amp

By Marcus from Oregon
Music Background: Been playing since for over 50 years.

I play a Takamine EF-291, a relic from the early 90s. Still, it plays beautifully through the Fender Acoustic 100. It took very little time to adjust my preamp (Boss VE-8 "acoustic singer") to accommodate the Fender. I'm still working on toning down the bottom E string, but the vocals are incredible.

Highly recommended. Great price. Very good amp.

Fender Acoustic 100 amp

By Mike from Rochester, Mn

I was glad to see the great reviews on this amp. As a beginner acoustic guitar player having only played on the small amp that came with my guitar package and occasionally on an electric guitar amp I have for my electric I noticed a substantial difference in sound quality and I'm no expert. It's just so obvious. I played on it at a guitar store on demo and the tones were so warm and rich that I played on it for about an hour or so with different guitars wondering if it was just me that notice it's superb quality. Now I know. A must have for fantastic true acoustic sounds.

By timothy f. from ann arbor, MI

Only giving it a 4.5 because the first one would overdrive after 30 mins or so. Sweetwaters excellent service is sending me another one right away. It's a great amp, very bright especially if you have a fishman on your guitar. you will need some sort of stand as it is pretty small. one you get it into position it will amaze you. the effects are great. I bought a pedal and that gives you more controll over them. The 100 is plenty loud enough for me and I have never had to turn it past 50%. I play a Taylor 710 through it and it sounds fantastic. Buy this amp, you wont regret it.

Great amp

By Jon S. from Orange CA
Music Background: Drums, acoustic guitar, singing song writing

First off Reid Bright was a super helpful tech Thanks. The amp has great features and sounds very good. I haven"t had much time to play it yet but when I took it out of the box the cloth speaker cover wasn"t stretched properly over frame before they attached it and it looks baggy on one side. That bothers me but I really don"t want to deal with sending it back. I"m not sure if it was a returned amp.. I"m not sure. I like it and when I have some extra time I"ll be really happy to play some songs through it.

This one's a winner !

By Randy B. from Eastern Washington
Music Background: Performing artist

I'm part of an acoustic guitar duo ( Hawk Creek ). My partner and I decided it was time to get matching amps, both for stage presence and also just to upgrade what we had. Went to a local music store and did a comparison between Fishman, Roland, Behringer and Fender acoustic amps. Saved the Fender for last. The minute we plugged in, the difference was very noticeable. Warmer, richer than the others. The onboard effects for each channel and the (light) weight made the choice a no-brainer. We've used it in areas that sit up to 50-60 people, and they easily handled the mix, imaging, volume needed. And..they look fantastic !

Great amp!

By Sweetwater Customer

Was going between this and the fishman loudbox mini for mostly at home play. Decided to go with fender for the larger size 9100w versus 60w), the fender brand name, and the effects which are great.

Would highly recommend this. I play mostly at home and the size is great. Effects sound great too. Highly recommend getting the MS4 foot pedal as well- has a built in tuner and lets you set 3 presets for effects.

Bass is very strong on this so I had to dial it all the way down. My hummingbird has a very strong pre-amp so I think that may be related to it but once turned all the way down, avoids the booming bass.

Amp also looks great - unique design!

Sweetwater is great to order from as well- came in 2 days!

Centerpiece when I least expected it

By Matthew K. from Colorado, USA
Music Background: Performer / Song Writer

There have been many gigs the past year where I wasn"t able to haul every bit of my signal chain... to include my vocal channel strip, PA system, various pedals, etc. This Fender Acoustic 100 amp has been my constant for amazing sound and confidence. I would dare to say sometimes it just sounds better through this indepent to any other item in the chain (if you dont need a PA... if you don"t need to FX overkill).

Some of the best built-in effects I have ever needed. Simple knob (more/less) of each effect, but somehow it always works out. Thanks for a great product, Fender.

//p.s. I bought the SFX or stereo model of the acoustic amp series. Too much speaker noises. Exchanged for a replacement and had the same issue. This 100 model is as clean as clean can get.

By Crazy m. from Quachita mnts. Ok.

The tone of this amp is amazing! The effects are sweet indeed! I use a yamaha ll6 which has an pasive
pickup so at first i was thinking for 100 watts the volume could be better then remembering most active guitars have preamps that boost signal i tryed my tc spark signal booster and couldnt believe the power of this amp! The amp doesnt have a pre gain so the booster becomes one, even minimal imput gain makes big volume improvements! Simple trick that makes the amp become the 100 watts it actualy is but be carefull you dont get blown away dude!

Outstanding Tone From Fender !!!!

By Jeffrey O. from Woonsocket, R.I.

For the last year, I've been using a Fishman Loudbox Mini which I really loved but was limited as far as effects were concerned. So I wanted to make a change and after reading reviews about this amp, I decided to give it a shot. Now some folks have complained about Fender Acoustic amps not being very loud and that is because if your guitar has passive pickups, then the signal is going to be weak thus resulting in a weak volume. Using active pickups resolves this issue . This amp even though it is a 100 watt SS combo , is somewhat weak when using passive pups like I do with my BBT Taylor . I resolved this by turning all the tone knobs up to 100 percent which now make the guitar channel on a even keel with the Mic channel . I do love the effects on this amp and discovered that by buying a Fender MGT-4 Footswitch, which I did , that turns this amp into a beast , especially as far as the volume is concerned. By using the footswitch , you are able to control the depth of your effects , are able to use a built in tuner, and also have access to tap tempo which is a blast . Some might disagree but I think this amp blows away the Fishman in terms of tone and sound and, it's also lighter being a swelte , 17 lbs. This one's a winner !!!!

Great sounding amp

By Beau from Minnesota
Music Background: Live and studio guitarist

Killer little amp! Sounds great, has a lot of options in regard to effects, bluetooth for listening to and playing along with music from phone etc., gets loud enough to cut through without losing sound clarity, very light and intuitive! I highly recommend it!

Wow serious tone

Not much to say besides that this amp rocks, cleanest of tones. Turn the high, Bass, mid, all in descending order and you"re in heaven. Can't see why you"d need a 200w model, this thing is loud enough already. Haven"t tried with vocals yet. Like always my Sweetwater rep; Ty is the man, got my gear to me in just 2.5 days!

It's a bit heavy to tote to gigs. But for tone? For flexibility? punch" gentleness? I believe this amp could drive my car.

Very nice acoustic amp

By Sweetwater Customer from San Francisco, CA

It was between the Fender Acoustic 100 and the Fishman Loudbox Mini.

1.) Bluetooth capability
2.) Headphone jack
3.) USB connectivity
4.) more special effects
5.) identical twin channels mic & instr
6.) more attractive cabinet

Bought the Fender Acoustic 100, very happy with purchase.

Worth every penny. Thank You Fender!

IMHO, there is no question that the Fender Acoustic 100/200 Series amps are some of the best acoustic amps available on the market right now. I couldn't be happier with it. It's a bit 'pricey', but, if you want the best possible sound for your acoustic playing, and you buy one, you will quickly realize that it's a small price to pay for the outstanding amp that it is. It's simple to use, beautiful in design, and is chock full of great "usable" features.

*My only gripe (a little annoying, but not a deal-breaker) is that the only option in using the 'tap tempo' feature, is to buy the 4-button switch. Otherwise the tempos for the FX are 'set'.

Fender acoustic 100

By Rex S. from IA
Music Background: Musician for 40 years

I bought this to go in tandem with my Washburn Resonator which I have not yet received. (4 weeks now) and playing my other axes through this has been pleasurable and clean. The bells and whistles I suppose I over looked when I ordered it. But they work well and are very adjustable.

Superb

By ~bonifacio~ from southern California

It's less than a day-old in my hands. I've tested it with my acoustic guitars (1/4" jack); mandolin and classical guitars (XLR using Audio Technica clip-on instrument mic); vocals. To me, the sound is nothing but superb. Although it's only an 8-inch, I'm impressed by the single full-range speaker -- solid, unconstrained. It's homey looks is a pleasing presence in my living room, garage and in my church. So glad I got it.
