You won’t get more versatility for the price
I recently purchased this guitar as to keep around so I wouldn't be upset if my kids destroyed it. I made my decision based on the variety of pickup combinations, since you won't find an S style guitar with this many pickup options under $ anywhere else. After setting the action and intonation (factory setup was as expected at this price point), I'm very happy with my decision. If you have been playing, the 25" scale takes some getting used to, but the pickup combinations alone make it worth every dollar, and it might become the kids' first guitar one day since it would fit well in smaller hands. The mint green pick guard on the ivory body is a nice touch. Zack at Sweetwater was helpful and as always, Sweetwater doesn't disappoint in the customer service department.
