Our team has had a pair of these for the last 3 years and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with how consistent, dependable and easy to use they are. Build quality is great. Sound quality is great, and the form factor is perfect for those of us that record directly into our cameras. We have a Lumix kit with the hot shoe xlr input and these mics provide great clean levels to go direct. Rarely do we need to add an additional recorder or mics to the set up. Recently we pulled out the handheld mic that we also got in a separate kit and it linked up flawlessly and gave us no issues while doing a walk and talk around the Kansas City Crossroads district. I would highly recommend investing in the AVX system. I'm curious to find out how many of these mics I could add to a set before having crosstalk issues. I guess we'll have to find out!

I was looking for a good and inexpensive wireless mic to use in video recording. I asked for advice from a variety of people. I was thinking of something in the $200-300 range. This Sennheiser system was certainly way out of the price range that I wanted to pay. But various sound and technical people said if I could afford this, it would be way better than one of those $200-300 systems. And they were so right. This mic set-up will last me for years. It feels solid, has fantastic sound, and is so easy to set up and use. I can plug it directly into my DSLR camera using the 1/8 cord that's included...or I can also use the XLR line-in with my new Beachtek Micro Pro audio adapter and then into my camera.

I am definitely glad I bought the Sennheiser. I know it's going to last which is the reason I was willing to pay more.

I can't imagine using anything else now that I've got my Sennheiser AVX system. The receiver plugs right into the XLR jack so there's no need for wires to get in the way.
The digital signal has been terrific, both indoors and out.
The microphone quality works great at reproducing the human voice.
The rechargeable batteries will save a lot of money down the line.
Solidly built with metal housings that will last a long time of real-world usage.

I have been using the AVX for a few weeks now and it's the best wireless mic system I have ever tried. I have owned several wired and wireless mic systems over the years at all price ranges. I had been using the Audio Technica wireless system 10 for a couple years and I was pleased with it until I compared it to this. I was always spending time in post trying to clean up the Audio Technica to open up the condensed feeling I would get. The price difference between the 2 has grown a lot since I bought the Audio Technica. Sennheiser not only sounds the best but is the easist to work with. I spend less time editing the audio in post than I ever have before. I know some people may think paying 900 for for a wireless mic system but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. It's just that good and if you want to step up your audio game than this the system for you

The ME2 kit of the Sennheiser AVX wireless microphone system has made my one-man YouTube production much more efficient. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up, and once you set it up the first time, just turn on the mics and go!

The rotatable XLR connection plugs right into my audio mixer, and the mic clips on my shirt, I'm ready to shoot much quicker than before!

Plus, the audio quality is superb! It's easily on part with my Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic and Procaster desktop mic after post-processing. A level of quality I've never had in a lav mic before.

My only real complaints are that the buttons - primarily the Power/Check button on the receiver and the Power button on the transmitter can be very hard to press without long nails. They're fairly mushy and unresponsive.
The battery on the receiver is also much lower-capacity than the transmitter, so it needs charged more often, BUT this is somewhat made up for by the receiver also being Micro USB chargeable, thus meaning you can plug it in to stay charging very easily.

The wireless range is great, battery LEDs and battery indication on the LCD screen of the receiver are useful, and it always stays in-sync.
