I led a small cohort in my church in which monthly we would interview leaders across the country. Needed a mic to place in the middle of the room to pick up everyone's voice without breaking the bank. This thing understood the assignment! Works great

I use a MBP in clamshell mode and needed an external mic for voice commands and other day-to-day type of voice input. This picks up great, stays mostly unnoticed, unlike a more traditional style desktop mic. Works great, very happy with this purchase.

Having had to listen to this for a year, I can say for sure the amount of electrical noise this picks up is ridiculous.

Too noisy for my taste and very small. I preferred to buy something more expensive that works right. The Behringer BU100 works perfect and it's bigger.

I volunteer at a substance abuse center, and with COVID-19, we've been trying to use Zoom for all-important discussion meetings. We still a number of in-person attendees in a large 18 x 40 ft meeting room, but that has opened a bag of worms trying to hear everyone while keeping the setting focussed on the issue, not the technical aspects.

I had an idea that a boundary mic would be a perfect choice, and Sweetwater made that happen incredibly fast. We tried it out for our first meeting and it was perfect! The clarity of subjects all over the room was excellent, and the big-screen speakers gave us no problems.DOn't you love being right?!

The ATR-4697 USB is inexpensive, unobtrusive, and a snap to set up. We added a couple of USB extension cables and just use an open USB port. That's it! Even a bunch of shaky recovering addicts can get it on the first try.

Not only is the mic perfect for its intended purpose, but the customer service guys at Sweetwater will make you just want to come up with something to buy. They are super fast and friendly, almost seeming to know what you need before you ask.

From now on, they are my first call for any video/audio needs.You won't regret using Sweetwater. What you would regret is using anyone else.

I purchased this item for a friend who is not too technical and who needed a straightforward, easy to use mike to stay in touch with his family scattered around the nation. The ATR4697 arrived by mail without fail, I plugged it in my friend's desktop and ta-dah! the installation proceeded on its own, without requiring any efforts on our side. The computer set it directly as the default mike, and we were ready to go! (ok, if you use Skype you will need to go to its settings and select the ATR4697 as default microphone, but I bet you can all do that). The quality of the sound is excellent. My friend placed the mike on his desk next to the monitor and does not need to yell into it for the other interlocutor to understand. I really can't imagine how this product could be any better. No frills, all substance, easy to use. P e r f e c t!.

AND, dealing with Sweetwater was a pleasure. They shipped the item on the same day I placed the order (within a few hours). They followed up with a phone call to make sure the product we selected was really what we needed. Their website is super-easy to navigate, and the price was the best price I could find for this item.

I purchased this to use with an old Windows 7 laptop that I converted to Linux Mint when Windows 7 support ended. The laptop has a built-in microphone, but the sound quality isn't great. The laptop recognized the microphone right away, and automatically adjusted the input level. Based on feedback from a couple of ZOOM meetings, the sound quality is good.
