Best for their purpose

By Michael from Virginia on July 24, 2021 Music Background: 50+ years as a performer and recording and live sound engineer. I've been there.

My main gig is as a recording engineer but during the summer, I do quite a bit of large scale live reinforcement. When I do not want to subject my Schoeps and Sennheisers to the whims of weather, I break out my dozen or so AT 4041s. I know of no other mic that offers the professional sound these do for the price. The price, while not qualifying these as "disposable": mics, is low enough that if one or two are destroyed by an unexpected rain storm, I am not devastated.
I will add to my collection as the gigs warrant.

These mics are great!

AT4041 Studio pack rocks

By Bruce Campbell from San Francisco Bay Area on April 27, 2018 Music Background: 40 years as a drummer

Absolutely the best pair of drum overhead mics I've ever heard for under 1,000 bucks. Crazy crisp sound, reliable, smooth range crossover, just a delight to own. And they're matched at the factory. Hello? I even use one on the HH and one overhead for smaller gigs.

Nutso value and high quality to boot.

AT4041

By John Rosenfelder from New Hampshire on June 28, 2012 Music Background: amatuer musician and sound engineer

Has worked very well individually for live sound on mandolin and fiddle.
Good for recording acustic guitar. Have also used with just one Galaxy PA6S on mando to balance sound with the rest of the band.

Great for acoustic instruments

Works well for recording or live sound on mandolin, guitar and fiddle.

Audio Technica AT4041

By Rob Carlson from Fairfield, CT USA on May 28, 2013 Music Background: singer songwriter, producer

Great mics for acoustic instruments and drum overheads, with the crisp "transparency" I was looking for. I also have a 4050 for vocals. Audio Technica consistently delivers quality at a very reasonable price. You could spend four times the money on a Neumann and get a mic that was marginally better. but not by much.

INCREDIBLE value

By Dan from Ann Arbor, MI on June 7, 2011 Music Background: Pro Musician

Can't be beat in the price range. Way better than the Rode NT5 or the SP C4.
