Fender Acoustasonic Player Jazzmaster Acoustic-electric Guitar - Ice Blue Reviews

6-string Acoustic Electric Guitar with Spruce Top, Mahogany Back and Sides, Mahogany Neck, and Rosewood Fingerboard - Ice Blue

From the couch to the stage to the studio, Fender’s Acoustasonic Player Jazzmaster is a reasonably priced way to break into the hybrid world of the Acoustasonic series! While it may look just like everyone’s favorite surf and shoegaze 6-string, the Acoustasonic Player Jazzmaster’s solid spruce top and mahogany back/sides deliver an impressive unplugged voice that beautifully translates through an amp or PA via the under-saddle piezo pickup. Looking for something a little more aggressive? Simply switch to the Acoustasonic Shawbucker pickup to capture everything from high-gain riffage to soulful strumming. What’s more, a blend knob allows you to mix between these two ends of the tonal spectrum to get the best of both the acoustic and electric world! Finally, a modern deep “C”-profile neck and comfortably contoured slim offset body conjure up an effortless playability that your typical dreadnought can only dream of.

Surprisingly fun guitar, even for a beginner

By Steve R. from Michigan on June 7, 2023 Music Background: Beginner

I've had this guitar now for over 6 months approximately and I have no complaint at all about it. Other then MAYBE the difficulty in getting proper strings at a quick notice. Sweetwater has them and they're delivery is very fast so it shouldn't be a big concern. The customer service can't be beat by any big box Guitar place. Impossible. And having a sales engineer is now a requirement for me! Spencer Kennedy has helped me with gear, especially as a beginner, and he's been so professional and understanding of the issues I face. This particular guitar was kinda my dream guitar…I love the fact you can make lay it acoustic or electric. It's especially convenient when you don't even need to plug it in to get acoustic notes!
I will say, don't buy any Acoustasonic think that it's gonna sound like a good acoustic. It just won't. And it won't sound like a perfect electric. So don't assume that either. Though the electric is very nice and amazing to hear from a guitar that looks like this one does! And don't bother with the American model, you're not gonna need all those options and honestly, the 9 volt battery in the Mexi model is way more convenient and last a very long time! I have a Tele besides this, but it's a lefty. I'm left handed, so assumed it would be fine. And it was…until I shattered my arm and wrist while skateboarding. I had to teach myself again how to play, only right handed this time! The embarrassing part is that I almost sound better as a righty! LOL
I'd recommend this in a second for anyone that wants something a little unique, but extremely functional and beyond fun because of all the option in tone from even the Mexi model. If you're considering getting one, stop. Just do it. You won't be disappointed. Especially at the Mexican models price being as affordable as it is. It's great for beginners all the way to real guitar players that do this for a living.
