Ahead Armor Cases Snare Drum Bag - 6.5" x 14" Reviews

Before ordering this Ahead Armor snare case, I had looked into this line (of cases) and was told at a known drum shop, that they prefered these cases to the other brands. After ordering three sizes for my drums, I understood why they recommended this brand. If you want the best and can spring for these beautiful, thick, sturdy, well designed cases - don't hesitate. These handsome cases are thick, lined and contured to accomodate some of brackets and lugs that may be mounted to the shells.

I have a ton of these bags and they work great. They have plenty of padding and a rugged zipper. They do seem to run a little large on the depth size. I always order them 1 inch shorter than the drum for a snugger fit.

this is the third one i have purchased for my snares. they are all holding up great and give good protection - BUT there is a side benefit that i would not recommend you trying. After a gig on a lake in the Austin area, i was carting my drums back to the truck down this long floating walkway. the snare was on top of the pile and rolled off into the water. I had to run back about 50 yards to the bar/restaurant to look for a long pole. finally found one and retrieved the bag and 6.5x14 Ludwig supraphonic from the water. Even though the bag had been floating in the water for about 10-12 min., The snare was barely damp from a slight amount of water that had seeped in around the zipper. i would not recommend the bag as a flotation device. But it saved my snare. Oh by the way Sweetwater is a great place to shop Best customer service i have ever seen

I am a huge fan of the Ahead Armor Drum Cases/bags. I love how they have utilized the slight teardrop shape to make room for tom mounts and snare drum strainers. Nicely constructed for years of service. I love these cases. Great buy!

Hold my 6 1/2 x 14 inch Black Beauty perfectly.

I have two of my kits in these cases and another kit in another brand of similar soft cases.
The other brand hasn't faired as well as far as ruggedness, that's for sure.
I also had a mishap with my 'precious' black beauty snare that is in one of these Ahead cases... slipped out of my hands and fell on the asphalt from about 3-4' directly on its side :-0
I freaked!
I took it inside and found no damage whatsoever... so I am a firm believer in these cases.
The 'other' brand soft cases would not have done that. I have knocked them over and accidentally backed over them w my car and they tore easily scratching the hoops.

So if you are a gigging drummer and want some soft cases that can take the abuse... look no further!!

Great case using for my Black Beauty snare!

If you're looking for a snare case or set of cases, I strongly recommend you consider Ahead Armor Cases. The quality of this bag is impeccable, and the design is just what working drummers need. The fleece inner lining is a great touch. The bag is heavy duty and I'm confident it will protect my Mapex Black Panther Wraith snare. Also, I want to put in a plug for Josh Lively at Sweetwater. Love, Love, Love this bag. It fits my 14 inch ludwig snare from the 1970 perfect. The zipper is easy to use, and dropping the snare in is easy. It feels sturdy and the handle is perfect for my hands, I am 5'2" and it is easy to lift not to heavy. It stows great in my car for gigs. I was very surprised by the whole package.

I was really surprised when I received the set of cases. They are a lot more heavy duty than I was expecting.
