Great little guitar with a sweet sound. It's absolutely perfect for those with smaller hands and build.

Nice little guitar

By Scott Lewis from Muskegon, MI on January 31, 2024

Wanted something smaller to play on the couch. The sound won't fill the room like a dreadnaught, but it sounds very nice, and will fill a room when plugged in. Looks great as well, don't see any issues with the finish. Very happy

Yamaha accousti guitar

By Brian from New York on January 12, 2024

I was looking for an entry level acoustic guitar so I could practice without having to drag out my amp and electric guitar after doing some research and asking the people at Sweetwater I chose the Yamaha APXT2EW It looks good sitting in the stand I like the sound and action of the guitar and it`s smaller size means I can sit in a comfortable chair and play when I want This is a great guitar for the price I highly recommend it.

Perfect Size

By Paul Zitzmann from Florida on November 13, 2023 Music Background: Casual player for 50+ years. Yes, an old fart!

I bought this guitar to mess around with while relaxing in my lounge chair because of it's size. My main instrument of choice is the bass so I was surprised at how easy it plays, even with my "bass fingers". The guitar was ready to play right out of the box, no adjustments needed. It also makes a fine addition to my home studio setup. The wood is beautiful and the built in tuner is great. 5 stars for sure.

Unbelievable

Little Boss

By Jason Rundel from CONWAY, AR on November 10, 2023

This little guy is smooth, sleek, responsive and has handled any thing I throw at it. The finish is beautiful. You could win a bet when it's plugged up no one believes that sound is coming from that little guitar but it does it.Very pleasing I will all my acoustics sounded this good , I have 33 this one sleeps at the end of my bed and we don't separate much during the day

great sound

By Lory Yano from Virginia Beach on May 25, 2023 Music Background: guitar, mandolin, mandola, 'ukulele

My wife has played guitar since she was a kid and has had a lot of top acoustic guitars, but she really digs this Yamaha. The sound is terrific, and the size is perfect-- fits her like it was made just for her. It is smaller than her two custom parlors, but the tone is that of a full size guitar. Intonation is perfect up the fretboard, and the build is clean. Hats off to Yamaha.

SWEET LIL' GUITAR

By Jeff Willig from MD on May 24, 2023 Music Background: Gigging Musician

This guitar is exactly what I wanted. It's compact enough to make it the perfect travel guitar, yet sounds great plugged in. It came nicely packaged, as is always the case with Sweetwater, and the action was nice, right out of the box. Add the gig bag, and the fact that it's beautiful, and you've got a 5-STAR guitar for sure.

Sweet Lil' Guitar

By Jeff Willig from MD on May 16, 2023 Music Background: Gigging Musician

The guitar came nicely packaged, as is always the case with Sweetwater. The action, right out of the box, is perfect, it sounds great plugged in, and it is absolutely beautiful. I was disappointed that I didn't get any candy with my order, but the sweetness of this little guitar more than makes up for that.

Incredible value. Fun to play, and sounds great!

By Blake Laing from Ooltewah, TN on October 1, 2021

I bought this to teach my kids to play, but I really like this little guitar myself. I play a lot more when I have this little guy within reach. The value for the price is really incredible.

Great Little Yamaha guitar

By Gary Yates from Virginia on August 12, 2020 Music Background: Been playing for 45 years, but not professionally

Purchased this very guitar. Love it. It doesn't sound big and boomy like a full size dread, but I love how easy it is to play and the built in tuner and pickup makes it sound very good plugged into a Fender amp. Don't expect it to sound like a full size guitar. Bought a 2nd one for my granddaughter who I hope wants to take lessons. Perfect size for a child to hold and play. I did not like the tuners, so I found a direct drop-in Grover deluxe kluson style exactly the same size...
These tuners have a slot instead of a hole in the side, but have a hole down the center which when you stick the string down into the hole (about 1/2 inch) then wind the string around, it is very easy and quick to string. As easy as locking tuners IMO. Guitar is worth every dollar and I think anyone would enjoy the sound and ease of playing this guitar and it can easily be taken anywhere.BTW, I did not get this from Sweetwater because was not available at the time.

Nice

Yay Carl Petersen performs exclusively with the Yamaha APXT2 Family of guitars

The smaller size of these guitars makes them ideally suited to deeper alternate tunings and aggressive playing styles.

Yamaha apxt2ew - 3/4 acoustic electric

By G Johnson from Fort Wayne, IN on December 28, 2016 Music Background: Singer Songwriter

We decided that our 7 yr old grandson was earnest about wanting to learn to play guitar and wanted to give him something easier for him to play. He was struggling with holding a full sized guitar. They are in an apartment so acoustic with an electric option was key. When Brian LeMert showed us this Yamaha, it bought the guitar search in focus.
Price...GREAT.
Built in, easy to use tuner that runs off the battery.
Battery really easy to get to and replace.
Easy for him to grab chords on.
Sounds good in both acoustic and electric modes.
It comes with a gig bag. It is light, easy to carry, hold, store, and fit into a full car. The best thing...he played it four different times on Xmas day. Best testimony ever, eh?

Travel buddy

By David Capes from Houston on December 16, 2022

I purchased this guitar to have a guitar I can travel with. It has a bigger sound than I anticipated. Plugged in the sound is better but it is a nice practice guitar. The tuner works well. The bag is too lightweight for lots of years hanging out in airplane overhead compartments. Overall I'm pleased.

Beautiful

By Ron Lehner from Grantsburg, WI. on June 2, 2017

I don't really care what others may think about this little beauty, it kinda grows on you. Had it for 2 weeks before finally tightening up the truss rod 3/4 turn to get the action I wanted; hold a nickel between the low E string and the 7th fret in an upright position. Don't let the small size fool you, this sleeper just sits by my desk and waits its turn. Great little addition to my entourage which is driving my girlfriend crazy. I think this makes 23 guitars collected over the years, but hey, who's counting. Love em all...

Yamaha APXT2EW

Good Quality

By Bob from GA on January 20, 2018 Music Background: Electrician

The build quality is great. Very playable. The only problem I have is with people saying how great it sounds. It sounds very good for what it is, which is a small bodied guitar. It does not have the sound of a full bodied guitar. It has a kinda tinny sound. It"s not strings. You don"t get the resonance from this that you would from a larger acoustic. I got this to have within arms reach to grab and play and it is GREAT for that. But don"t buy it for tone or easy playing. You have to press down just as hard on small acoustic guitar strings as you do big acoustic guitar strings. Overall I"m glad I bought it.
