Beautiful to look at, natural acoustic sound, full resonance, punchy when needed.....and I haven't plugged into an amp yet. Offers much, much more than the price point. Don't think about it, buy it!!

APXT2EW 3/4-Size Thin-Line Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar-Natural
Had been looking for a smaller sized, easy to play guitar with a good sound that didn't break the bank. My issues with larger sized guitars revolve around damaged shoulders not allowing me to play comfortably for any length of time. The Yamaha fits my needs totally. My shoulders are much happier as is my bank account. I would highly recommend this guitar for those having a need for a affordable, smaller guitar with a good sound quality.
Best travel guitar ever
For such an inexpensive guitar, it sounds great and is petite enough to play on a bus. Stays in tune unbelievably well. I took it to Vietnam and it travelled like a champ, on busses, trains and planes. Plug into an amp and it sounds like a big grown up guitar. The fretboard is great for small hands. It plays easy, and the finish looks super cool. I LOVELOVELOVE this "cheap " guitar!
This is a competent little workhorse.
If you need or want a travel workhorse this guitar fits the bill. As it stands alone its tone and volume is more than adequate. If you plug it in you will get a powerful controllable sound. The action is great and it fills a niche for those who are looking for a smaller size with plenty of punch. Try one out. You'll be surprised at what you can do with it.
Yamaha APXT2 EW Mangowood Top acoustic/ electric guitar
I bought the black spruce top one awhile back and gave favorable reviews all across the board. I wanted this mangowood top for awhile now and this is no exception. Attractive looks, nice intonation, and playability. Sounds good unplugged. Sounds great plugged in. And with a price that doesn't break the bank, this one's a keeper! Very happy with this purchase! Yamaha guitar
Great for the money ,plays well
Great beginner guitar
Bought this guitar for my girlfriend to learn to play on, she's a small lady and this guitar fits her perfectly. I find it easy to play with good action and it sounds really good too. The Mango top is really cool with an exotic wood pattern, like no other guitar I've ever seen. Great guitar for kids or smaller people like my girlfriend.
I LIKE IT
Just got it today, I sat down looking at it and thought wow sure is small, It needed a tune up, Any guitar no matter how well that is boxed up will go out of tune, It was freezing cold when I unboxed it. Warm, Cold, and wood does not mix, Only thing I did not like is the action was to high, Easy fix I just took a 16th of a inch off the bridge saddle and a 32nd off the nut. plays great and is a well built guitar. very pretty, I like low action I change it on all my guitars I have 6 of them 3 Gibson and 2 fender and this cool little Yamaha, plays great, Good price to.,,, TY Sweetwater.
Fantastic little string friend
Purchased this as a travel guitar. The tuner and preamp work great and make it a fun little guitar to use with a sampler on the road. The guitar itself had a little rough spot on the edge of the sound hole but otherwise looks and feels very nice, smooth neck and good action. This guitar stays in tune well too. I've lugged it around through several temperature changes and environments and it rarely needs tuning (though with the built in tuner it's really quick). Great guitar for the price. Did pick up a better bag as the one that comes with it isn't padded, but wish I could find a bag about 4" shorter to perfectly fit this. Nonetheless for traveling it fits in a mini acoustic case inside its regular bag great so when you travel you have a padded option and a lighter throw over your shoulder option.
Satisfied Customer
Yamaha has a great reputation so I decided to purchase this as a travel guitar and for my 11 year old daughter to use. It's very comfortable and not bad looking. I'd actually say that this guitar is excellent in its price range. Because of the low cost it doesn't meet the requirement for Sweetwater's 55 point inspection so you may want to take it for a professional set up. Mine was good to go out of the box. The action was good and the sound is not bad but it sounds great when plugged in! I've seen a few negative reviews, but I wouldn't expect more for an instrument well under $300. I never wanted a travel size or a small guitar before but now I appreciate them. I don't hesitate to play it anywhere.
Excellent Starter Guitar
This is a nice set up for a new guitar player. It's got it all! On board tuner, and you can plug this in to an amplifier. It's nice looking and has a gig bag. The price point is decent for someone that's new and just beginning guitar playing, and doesn't want to put a lot of money into the craft just yet. This is a 3/4 size guitar. I chose this size because I am a ukulele player and I wanted something I could easily manage. The guitar is well-made and has decent sound for the price. There is a bit of string buzzing, but the buzzing can be managed by proper finger pressure and placement. This guitar is a great purchase for someone just starting out. I'm happy with it.
Good for the price, but color is off
The "Natural" wash shown in the pictures is NOT the same as the guitar you get. The video linked provides a better showcase of the color - it's much lighter. Bit of a bummer but oh well. For the price, it's a good guitar. Very small, but still has a surprisingly rich sound not plugged in.
Calidad de sonido
Yamaha es Yamaha en cualquier liga,no importa la madera,su sonido es bueno,aún sean de precio economico.Musico de talento toca hasta en una alfagia de 2x4.
So disappointed
Springs missing from the battery box. Impossible to tune. total garbage. I have been playing guitar for over sixty years and have purchased several guitars and a resonator from Sweetwater. Where was the prior shipment inspection? I have lost all faith in Sweetwater and will not make another purchase from them.
the shape the finish
The cutaway is too much and makes the body like a deformed shape
The finish is dull, dark, no style, no binding
