Ultimate Support AMP-150 Ultra Compact Amp Stand

Ultimate Support AMP-150 Ultra Compact Amp Stand Reviews
The Ultimate Support Genesis series AMP-150 is one of the most innovative amp stands you'll ever come across. In addition to all of the wonderful engineering Ultimate Support puts into all of their Genesis series stands, the AMP-150 completely eliminates the need for an additional mic stand, by offering you a built-in boom attachment right at its top. All you have to do is cradle your amp onto the grippy rubber of the AMP-150's arms, attach your favorite mic boom to the threads at the top, and point your mic back at your amp.
Buying a second one
I've settled on this one. Packs up small and light; never stops working. Buying a second one. High quality, low price.
Nice Little Stand
Thus far I love this little amp stand. It holds my combs very nicely while reducing my footprint and weight load. Though I rarely use a mic on my bass amps, I do love the option to mount on the stand. Also it was surprising that the stand has the ability to adjust the angle, I just didn't catch that ability until I used it.
So Far So Good
I've seen the reviews on here about the back leg failing, but so far so good.
If this only lasts a year, then at $ I'll take it.
I run house sound at a local bar venue, and one of my biggest problems is guitar amp volume, the classic "your calves don't have ears".
The first time I put a guitar player's amp on one these I staired in joy as I watched them turn it down them selves.
The small foot print is also a plus when the stage gets packed, place it in its furthest leaning back setting (back leg fully in) and you can get it pointed at an average height guitarist's head only a foot or two behind them.
I will definitely add a second one to my next order.
Not perfect
The small folding amp supports prevent the front legs from folding up(out of alignment). With this happening the rubber sleeves on the tips of the supports get stressed(split) when folded up for storage. The vertical pole needs some kind of cushioning pad to protect the back of the amp from getting scratched. I had to place an adhesive felt pad on the pole to protect the amp. Not sure if I want to keep using this thing since setting it up and putting it away is where the "wear" comes from.
Great at first
I thought these would be great. Good price. Compact. But then the back leg on the both the stands I bought gave out. There's nothing to stop them from collapsing. Avoid.
Sturdy compact stand!
A buddy of mine recommended this and I'm really glad he did. Points my Rumble 500 bass amp right at my head so I can hear it very well. Very well made and folds down very compact for easy transport. Great product at a reasonable price!
Nice Stand
Stand folds up nice and compact, has 3 different settings for the angle of the amp, has less footprint than other stands I have, should work out well.
Cool idea, poorly executed
I had two, both broke within a year. The locking mechanism is just not sturdy enough. My amps are 40lbs, which is well under the 75lbs they're rated for.
I'm disappointed, since I really loved how compact they were when folded, and how easy they were to set up and take down.
Works but has things you need to know
Worked great - while it lasted.
Very compact amp stand. I could fit it in my pedal board case along with a guitar stand. Love that you can adjust the angle too. But it only lasted maybe 4 years? Part of the plastic broke so one of the legs won't take any weight at all. Never used this with anything heavier than possibly 50 lbs. Usually no more than 40. Of course I didn't save my receipt, so the lifetime warranty isn't covered. Might get another one, but checking out other options too. Like I said - it was nice while it lasted!
Breaks Easily
I have some nice Ultimate Support stands that I have bought in the past, and they have been good quality pieces of gear that I have relied on.
The problem with these stands is that the body (that holds the arms and legs) is extremely weak and breaks easily. I had 2 of these in my studio holding small combo amps (Bassbreaker 15 and Blackstar Studio 10), and they both broke in about a year of doing nothing but holding little amps.
I generally don't write negative reviews because most gear made these days is quite good. However, I have no respect for cheap junk and would probably not buy Ultimate Support products in the future, as their quality has really gone downhill.
Small Footprint Works Great
I have owned multiple amp stands going back 30 years. This one is a small footprint on stage and holds any of my amps. The kickback is adjustable so you can get you perfect sound. I will order more of these
Handy, portable, but needs improvement
1.) Collapse and carry design is outstanding. Love that feature!
2.) On mine the locking mechanism for the mic extension tube broke, the plastic around the rivet gave out. Manufacturer design problem, too weak.
3.) I used to put a pretty heavy amp on the stand, probably about 60 lbs. It was very tipsy trying to set the amp in place, balancing as you set it down was important or it would flip to the side, but once the amp was in place it was quite stable.
I would not buy another unless Ultimate fixes the weak rivet, because the extension tube is not only useful to mount a mic but important to properly support taller amps.
Perfect
It holds my Deluxe Reverb. Perfect angle for having the speaker face me as I play in my home. This tilt allows me to keep the volume a little bit lower than it would otherwise have to be.
Fantastic!
This stand folds up very nicely for transport. I really like the way it positions perfectly so I can hear my amp/tone without having to crank the amp and overload our stage volume.
Works Great
I have two of these stands. They're sturdy and hold the amplifiers at the perfect angle for playing while seated in an orchestra pit. The legs lock securely both when holding an amplifier and when folded. The stands fold compactly and easily fit within my gig bag unlike other amp stands I have used. I did have to re-secure (glue) the rubber feet in place as they are just pressed onto the legs. Otherwise, highly recommended. It goes without saying (but, I'll say it anyway) that Sweetwater service is second to none.
Enables You to Play at Lower Volume
I use an Ultimate Support Amp-150 Amp Stand for my Fender Mustang 3V amp, and I am very pleased with it.
I play solo as a guitarist/vocalist.
By getting the amp off of the floor and angling it I can play at a lower volume level and still cover the room I am playing in.
It folds up into a very compact package for carrying.
I would highly recommend it.
Solid
Works great. I bought two for a Fender Blues Jr. and a Marshall Class5 set up in my living room. They function well and the setup looks classy enough to be left out all the time. Didn't think I'd use the mic stand part, but attached the boom of a mic stand I had lying around and it works really well. My only wish was that I could adjust the angle a little shallower (i.e. that the rear leg would extend a littler longer) but it's pretty minor.
Sturdy and Practical
Solid as a rock and, with the addition of a small boom, perfect for micing my 75-lb. Pro Reverb.
Not a good value -- broke after light use within two years
Good concept- poor quality components in the "stress points"
My amp is a Rivera 55-12 -- weighs 47lbs.
