Rode Caster Pro meets Roland Bridge cast
I've only owned this for a short time. I own Rode Casters, Roland Bridge and a Focusrite Vocaster 2. I like gadgets.
The 3-8 channel over a single USB-C lets me get Tidal on one, Game on another, Chat on another, Phone (TRRS) on another. It does it and does it well.
I've tested this with the SM7B and a Earthworks Ethos. Phantom power is easy to use for condenser mics needing it (Ethos). This has been tested on Windows 11 and a Macbook 16 Pro Max. Headphones tested - Sennheiser HD650, HD800S. Beyerdynamics DT1990 pro, 990 pro. My Hifiman HE6sev2 planars non of these types of devices can power those correctly, but I did try.
The power switch on the back lets you select USB or the A/C power adapter on the fly. A few have this feature of the plugins, but not with the selector as well.
I have not tried the include Steinberg software. I template this up in Adobe Audition.
Conclusion: This is a better product for converging Live Streaming, Podcasting and Voice over. If you're doing Twitch/Tik-Tok is it worth twice the price over the Roland Bridge Cast? I say definitely if you have the cash, if not the Roland is solid. For Podcasting I prefer this over the Rode Casters for footprint, build quality and the usb port convergence. The Focusrite Vocaster is my least favorite device mainly because of quality and support issues.
