I use it in my battery powered pedal rig
Mine is not the intended application for this "podcast mixer". I wanted a very small mixer just to mix the output of my battery-powered pedal rig with a microphone and then send a single signal to - wherever. This runs very well on only 5v USB (most mixers need 12v and up), and runs along with my pedals on (2) Joyo 05 batteries which would NOT power the Yamaha AG06fx which I tried before. I am usually running into a battery-powered Mackie 8" Thump Go speaker. Why don't I use the two channels on the Mackie for this? Because when all is said and done, the mic preamp on the Mackie is kind of anemic for my purpose. So I need a mic preamp in the chain, and the Yamaha AG03 does this just fine, and also gives a nice last-stage boost to the (acoustic piezo w/ effects) guitar signal. My first thought about the two effects buttons on the mic input was "how cheesy" but they are not as cheesy as some others I have heard and I actually like them since it's mostly a talk mic. Now if it were a full time vocal mic you would want some more EQ, but since I am not a singer it doesn't get much singing use.
I take the second balanced line out from the AG03 and run it through a Radial Ice Cube transformer/isolator and then to any external device that I want to connect to. I had some ground hum issues but the Ice Cube has solved that for now (permanently I may hope, fingers crossed.)
