Ibanez AEWC400 Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Indigo Blue Burst High Gloss
Ibanez AEWC400 Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Indigo Blue Burst High Gloss Reviews
The AEWC400 from Ibanez is a beautifully designed acoustic-electric with great tonewoods and fine appointments normally only found on more expensive instruments. Featuring an all-maple body, the AEWC400 delivers balanced, full tone with rich projection. A smooth nyatoh neck and walnut fingerboard are instantly playable and responsive. The onboard Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez AEQ-SP2 electronics also give you wonderful amplified acoustic tone when you are ready to plug in.
This guitar is honestly perfect!
This guitar is very beautiful, for one thing. It's much prettier in real life. The guitar came with tuned strings, and arrived very quickly after we ordered it. It's very easy to play and has a smooth sound. The neck is smaller, which suits me, because my hands are pretty small. I have always had a slight issue with playing barre chords, but I was able to play barre chords easily with this guitar. I noticed some other people said that you had to twist the tuning peg a bit to actually tune the string. However, I didn't have a problem with that. Honestly just a very pretty-sounding guitar, no regrets buying it.
An excellent acoustic-electric guitar with advanced design features.
I have played this instrument for nearly two years and it remains my favorite acoustic-electric. The fit and finish are impeccable with two exceptions: 1) Fret ends are not as smooth as they should be on a $ dollar guitar, especially above the 15th fret. They pose no impediment to ease of playing but Ibanez needs to address this simple feature. I've found this to be true of other Ibanez guitars in this price range.I don't expect rolled fret edges but I do expect smooth ones. 2) The fret inlay dots are too subtle and difficult to see. This is another Ibanez feature which I believe needs to be addressed. Block inlays are not necessary but inlays that are easily visible are. The cosmetics are nearly impeccable and the design contours support comfort and ease of playing. The design of this guitar is what prompted me to buy it and I've reported before these features are both practical, aesthetic and cleverly designed. The onboard tuner is excellent, as is the Fishman equipped preamp. The guitar comes with an extra bridge saddle and a truss rod. The truss rod is effective and easily controls the neck relief. I prefer light gauge strings as I like to solo, and with the exception of string bending, soloing on this guitar is a breeze. Although unplugged it cannot compete with my Breedlove Passport acoustic electric, it truly comes to life once you plug it in! It is, after all, an acoustic-electric. It's a great guitar and I play it daily!
Read MoreI love this guitar!
I bought this guitar 4 months ago and I happy super happy with it. It caught my attention because it was pretty, and I selected it because the reviews said it plays great. I have not been disappointed on either of those points. Out of the box it was beautiful! I've looked over every inch of it, and the finish is flawless. I forgot to order a set up from Sweetwater, but it was still very easy to play out of the box. I later had it set up by a local luthier, and man! It's smooth as silk now. My Sweetwater rep, Benjamin, was very supportive and called more than once to make sure I was happy. Five stars all around!
Amazing guitar
Guitar looks even better in person. Ordered on Thursday and got it today (Monday). Incredible product and service all around. Love Sweetwater!
Great Guitar
I bought this guitar back in March and have hardly touched my electric guitars since. It sounds great plugged or unplugged and I get compliments all the time on its sound. Shout out to Sweetwater tech staff for setting it up just the way I like it.
Even prettier in person
The flame on this is so 3D, looks better than the pictures can show so that was a pleasant surprise.
Plays wonderfully and I like the arm carve more than I expected. For the price it's a wonderful guitar. Very happy with this purchase, Ibanez is really doing awesome with these acoustics in looks, sound, and value.
Really Nice Guitar!
All the usual great service from Sweetwater. This instrument is nice and lite. It molds itself right into my body and plays like a dream!
Excellent guitar for beginner/intermediate
The guitar is absolutely beautiful. Sounds and plays great. No fret buzz and the finish on the neck is super smooth allowing your hands to glide up and down the fretboard. The curves of the body make for a very comfortable guitar. My only complaint is that when tuning, you sometimes have to turn the peg pretty far to get any actual change. I'm not sure if it's the tuners themselves or if the nut could just use some lubricant. The guitar stays in tune well though so it's not a huge problem. All in all I wouldn't change my mind if I could go back. I think it is an excellent addition to my collection.
