Slammin’ drums
This extension really gives you that huge, reverb-ish metal tone that's necessary for the genre. I would recommend this plugin to anyone.
Addictive Drums Metal ADpak
Excellent addition to the Addictive Drums product. The kit sounds brutally aggressive even before adding the extra triggers. Well worth the price if you are recording metal songs of a heavier variety, (think Gothenburg type sounds). Most notably, the kick retains definition and depth even among a barrage of detuned guitars.
XLN is great, and metal is their specialty
My love for all things Addictive Drums borders on ridiculous. I feel about this software the way guitarists feel about their favorite axe. I'm an XLN fanboy, I would actually wear hats and shirts with their logo on it. Every one of the AD products, from the base set to the ADPacks to the individual kit pieces are incredibly detailed and real sounding. I have bought every product these guys have released except for a couple of the midi collections in styles I know I will never work in. Well, XLN being from Scandinavia, metal is really these guys' forte. Unlike the other companies that basically seem to thin out the kick and turn up the volume on a rock kit and call it metal, XLN really knows what goes into a metal kit, from the pieces to the recording to the FX. Not only does the basic kit sound good on its own, the tons of presets that come with this ADPack feature about every style of metal kit you could possibly want, and the included midi files, played by Arch Enemy's Daniel Erlandsson, will inspire you to keep cranking out tracks just so you can use the drums. If you're even looking at this product, it means you probably should buy it. I'm 100% satisfied -- no, make that thrilled -- with this ADPack and AD in general.
Awesome
I use many different programs to create drum tracks. I like addictive drums because it's easy to use, and sounds good. The metal ADpak is my favorite so far! The kit sounds great, and even the presets are good! if you're looking for heavy, tight and deep drums, you've found it!
great addition to addictive drums
I love the metal adpak.I could always get great drum sounds, but with the metal adpak there is very little tweaking to the presets.drop the addictive drums on your track and stand back.addictive drums is my go to plugin for drums.
sounds great, using for most of my tracks!
I like the heavy sound of the kits available in this adpak. The ONLY thing I don't like about it, or maybe it's a function of AD, is that you can't mix pieces from the metal pack with the standard kits.
Great for all kinds of modern metal
It's a great drumkit for modern metal - apart from the snare drums. The kick sound is punchy and hardly needs the triggers, and the toms are appropriately dry, but the snare is weak and subdued. Accordingly all the presets have poor snare sounds and you would be much better served fitting one of the standard snares into your kit. Apart from that, if you're doing modern metal - progressive, gothic, symphonic, melodic, death, whatever - you want this.
