Beautiful, bright, and unique

By William Logan from Columbia, SC on August 2, 2023 Music Background: Player for 50 years - now mostly for my church and for fun.

I wanted to just enter an intial review of my new Guild Aristocrat P90 guitar. I was looking at several different guitars with P90's. Guild, per review, had great workmanship and the Franz P90's had a great reputation. I have received that guitar. It is beautiful and the Franz P90's deliver exactly that old-school P90 jazz sound I was looking for through my Roland JC-40. What a beautiful combination. The workmanship on the guitar is great - fret edges, finish, hardware . . . no complaints. I highly recommend this ESPECIALLY at the price.

Quality

This guitar is made so well. The p90s have a warm , classic sound. I highly recommend the Aristocrat as an all around guitar for most styles of music. Fantastic !

Guild Aristocrat P-90

By Jim Coop from Atchison, Kansas on December 15, 2021 Music Background: Forty Years Of Rock 'N' Roll

After forty years of playing guitar, and going through multiple configurations of guitars, I have finally found the one that I cannot put down; THE GUILD ARISTOCRAT P-90. In this guitar I have found the smooth sound that jazz musicians like and the biting overdriven sound that inspires most of the younger musicians I meet. Give this guitar a test-drive, you will love it! The finish is impeccable, and with a minor adjustment to the neck relief, it plays with very little effort up and down the neck. Buy whatever guitar suits your pleasure, but don't buy a guitar without trying out the Guild Aristocrat P-90 First.

Very cool !

I was thinking I would have to change pick-ups , but these pick-ups sound great. No finish issues. The strings it comes with are 11 to 49 , and I play with 10 to 46, but these are not to bad to play with. The guitar sounds fantastic through my 70's Super Reverb amp. I am very pleased with playing clean or overdriven , this thing sounds great. For the money I don't think you could do much better. I am very happy I got this guitar.

Stunning guitar

Another excellent guitar from Devin and Sweetwater. Sounds great, love the P90's. You can't go wrong with sweetwater, I'm at seven guitars and counting(waiting on another Ibanez, that will make eight), also pedals and amps. I recommend the Guild super quality for the price. Cheers!

Meh! Ugh!

By Sparrow from NY on August 3, 2023 Music Background: Experienced

Guild had great potential with this one, but they almost totally missed the mark.
I'm an eternal optimist, so first the bad:
The body is chambered (ok). While unpacking, I noticed a rattle inside the body. I thought it obviously would be something loose in the electronics compartment. NOT!!! The rattling is in the chamber - very, Very, VERY annoying. Fit and finish are terrible. Buzzing and strange overtones all over the fretboard.
The good:
The chamber is resonant, so the guitar doesn't sound dead.
Surprisingly, the pups are very musical. I think they were a good choice for this guitar's architecture.
