A solid, yet reasonable one

By Prince from New York
Music Background: Church musician

This product is incredibly made...a solid, yet, a "soft shell" case surely worth the money! @Sweetwater, the only place where I deal with, have such a professionals, with patience, and knowledge, guided me through till I get it here to me. Special thanks to my favorite one Carmen Uhazy, and Jeff Retter were very patient and great in communicating through out this process. Appreciate it.

Great gig bag

By Sweetwater Customer

I keep my Taylor 414 in this bag permanently. It's sturdy and much lighter than the hard cases. It's much more practical for me to grab the guitar and play while using the aerocase then having to deal with a heavy hard case. It works well with humidipacks. I'd have no problems using this for gigs. I

Good quality construction but I miss having an internal compartment

By Sean from Youngstown, OH

I bought this case for a 2008 Taylor 214e(non-cutaway). The fit is great. The padding has some flexibility but the case is still sturdy. There is plenty of room inside for a hygrometer. The lid shape easily allows a string mounted humidifier to be installed in the sound hole. The materials all seem to be of good quality.

I only wish they would have put a simple pouch or a piece of Hook/Loop fabric inside to allow attaching a hygrometer. The fabric/velvet is seamless and there is no internal compartment. I glued the ends of a small strip of fabric inside and clipped a hygrometer to the center of the strip. There is a lot of room around the neck/upper bout to allow this.

The external pocket is a good size, easily allowing a folder of sheet music be stored there. The pouches in the external pocket are all quite deep though. So if you put picks in them, you have to fish them back out.

Great

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Gigging musician

This is a super sturdy soft case. It's clean and the lines are sharp. I think about the cost of my guitar and then what the quality is the protects my guitar while being able to have shoulder straps and it is a no brainer. This is the bag to have if you value your expensive guitar.

Great quality case

By Sweetwater Customer

Between hard case and gig bag. Nick lining, neck support, padding and semi rigid too and back. Perfect for me transporting Taylor 224ce-K DLX from home to lessons. Would probably go to hard case for ling travel, but wouldn't hesitate to pack in the car for a road trip and know I was plenty protected. Just one single front storage pocket but there is a smaller pocket within that.

Travel Bag Just Works

By RC

The Aero Case provides significant protection for your guitar when traveling without the weight of the standard Taylor case. It also provides an outside pocket to store music sheets, a portable guitar stand, picks and capos. It is a well thought out design with very sturdy zippers. I wish Taylor would make one of these for the T5z guitar. It is also fairly priced for the quality of manufacturing and attention to detail.

High Quality Case

By Ken from Las Vegas
Music Background: Picking and grinning as best I can.

As is to be expected, this case is Taylor level quality. That being said, it is a case, not a gig bag. It will keep your Taylor snug and secure. The trade off is size. In some ways it is bulkier than the hard case. I also miss having a compartment inside the case although the pad to secure the neck is a nice level of security. The case is also nice looking. To me Taylor brown speaks quality. Also a shoutout to Sweetwater! Their service is top rate.

Nice Semi-Hard Shell Case from Taylor

By Jim K. from Memphis
Music Background: Been playing since I was 10 years old.

If you want the ultimate protection of your large investment in a Taylor guitar in a portable format, consider the Taylor Aero series gig case. It is more of a case than a traditional gig bag. The upper and lower portions and sides have a hard component while offering the solid straps for easy travelling. The case is well constructed with protection in mind. I had a very good Gator Gig bag which was nice but I wanted more protection for my Taylor 814ce Deluxe. I looked at many different bags/cases and finally, with the help of my Sales Engineer - Simon Whitehouse, selected the Taylor Aero case. It is a solidly built base and snugly holds your guitar. The handle is also comfortable and secure, unlike many other gig bags.

The one negative is that it is much heavier than a traditional gig bag. You also feel this when you strap it on your back. It would be nice if Taylor put another pocket or two in this case as the well made zipper case is somewhat limited. There is no internal storage either for straps/picks/tuner etc. That would be a nice addition.

Like a hard case with shoulder straps

By Billy from Norfolk, VA
Music Background: 20+ years guitarist. P&W leader

This is way sturdier (and heavier) than I expected. It's pretty much built like the hard shell case and gives my Taylor 414ce a snug fit. I wanted something with shoulder straps and a pocket big enough for my iPad to keep my hands free going to and from playing. Since protection wasn't my primary need, I probably would have been happier with a lighter gig bag, but I don't have to worry about my kids knocking it over and damaging the guitar with this one. I suppose that peace of mind is worth the additional weight.
Storage: not sure what the zippered mesh pocket is intended for since it's too tight to put most things in - I stuck a pack of strings in there. The other pocket has an elastic opening which is nice for keeping my picks and capo from scattering around the main pocket. I keep my IEMs and clip-on tuner, and iPad in the main pocket and since my guitar has a cutaway, I can keep my strap in the main case.
Hope this helps someone considering this case.

Just What I Needed for My Taylor 517e

By Jeff S. from Wilmington, NC
Music Background: singer/songwriter, worship leader,

I recently bought a dream guitar... a Taylor Grand Pacific 517e. It came with a stunning beautiful case as well with floral design on the surface. It is very sturdy and a little on the heavy side. However, knowing me it would not be long before I clumsily knocked it up against something and would get hose mystery gouges and white streaks. I wanted something light weight and sturdy for my everyday use and travel. I was planning to get a Taylor hardbag but saw a YouTube video about the Aero Case. In the video they were throwing it out a 2nd story window, jumping on it, knocking it into walls, and closing doors on it. They even hit it with a truck... all with a guitar in the case that came out unscathed. I was sold, but first I had to find out if a case designed for the Grand Auditorium would fit a Grand Pacific. After a few inquiries, my Sweetwater Rep, Andrew got back with me with the news that it was a perfect fit. I bought it and am very happy. I also love the fact that I can tuck the shoulder straps away when not needed. The pouch on the front has plenty of room for the stuff I carry... strap, capos, strings, tools, cable. I highly recommend the Taylor Aero Case!
