Baritone Ukulele with Acacia Top and Body, Rosewood Fretboard, and Fishman Kula Electronics - Natural

The Lanikai ACST-CEB is a beautifully crafted baritone ukulele featuring a solid acacia top that delivers full, classic bari uke tone. The ACST-CEB features a wider nut for a slightly wider neck that makes playing the ACST-CEB more comfortable. A gorgeous rosewood fretboard offers great response as well, whether you're chording or playing melodies. A NuBone nut and saddle also provide tonal support to the already tone-rich acacia body. This baritone uke is ideal for living room jams or warm nights on the beach around a fire with friends. When you are ready to plug in, the Lanikai ACST-CEB also has a Fishman Kula preamp onboard for stellar amplified tone. Uke enthusiasts here at Sweetwater love the ACST-CEB for its playability and tone.

Sound Quality

By Andrea V. from Las Vegas, NV
Music Background: Music Teacher & Ukulele Nerd

This is my second baritone ukulele purchase. My first was from a well-known high-quality and high-cost brand that I won't name. While I've only had this uke for a few weeks I already notice the vast difference in sound quality and resonation that comes from this Lanikai. This uke is a joy to play, it's easy on my fingers, lightweight, nice tuning mechanism, and beautiful to the eyes but I cannot stress enough how wonderful the sound is.

Good value

By Sweetwater Customer

Dealing with Quinn by phone was pleasant. Although he stated unfamiliarity with ukes, he did offer opinions about sound quality with different woods available for this instrument., and quoted a good price. He told me it did not have a strut in the neck, but, fortunately, it does, as it needed to be tightened to correct a mild bowing affecting the action on strings closer to the body of the uke.

Two of the strings had a buzz, which was corrected by a set of new strings, which were FedExed to me almost instantly by anther Sweetwater sales engineer (thanks!). This agent told me that this product is not inspected.by their company, but shipped as packaged by the Chinese manufacturer.

It arrived 6 days later than estimated, which was frustrating because the provided tracking link would not provide more information beyond, "On the way", and "Delayed".

The uke was very well packed and arrived in its modest padded case, looking beautiful. Compared to my Cordoba baritone uke, the unamplified sound is not as loud or bright. I assume this is related to heavier internal bracing and solid Acacia top. Different strings probably influence this comparison, as well. The neck is thicker, and I'm trying to get used to that. Although I haven't weighed my ukuleles, this must be a full pound heavier.

The accuracy of its tuning up the neck is very good, as is the sustain, particularly on the D and G strings. I'm enjoying playing it with a portable amplifier with a bit of reverb. The preamp equipment seems to function well.

Overall, I'm not wowed by this ukulele, but OK with giving it a whirl. If I were to do it over, I think I'd try the maple version for a brighter, louder sound.

Great sounding Uke

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Serious hobbyist .

Had mine for about a year . Sounds nice . I play through an amp but it still has a great ukulele sound amplified. Had to do a bit of work to it out of the box . The action was way to high to play for a little long period of time , so it needing setting up , but now it is right and I love it . Still trying different strings to find the best sound . They do make a big difference .

Awesome sound and playability

By Radella from Florida

The 1st one had a defect in the electronics but Sweetwater made it right I got the exchange the very next day. Thank you so much for taking care of the issue so promptly. This baritone plays like butter and sounds awesome. I love the all wood look, from the binding to the marking dots. A plus for me is that it has a truss rod.

Love this instrument!

By Sweetwater Customer

Great sound right out of the box. Very nice to play, the neck is super comfortable, the frets smooth and the action seems just right. This thing is a joy to play!
Sound is great, both alone or running through my little desktop Yamaha THR10II. The tone is warm and full, but not as bright as some of the spruce tops.
Glad I went with a solid soundboard--it makes a difference.
Sweetwater service was fast and accurate, friendly and professional as usual. A 10 out of 10 at this point!
