Zildjian A City Cymbal Set - 12/14/18 inch
Zildjian A City Cymbal Set - 12/14/18 inch Reviews
Whether you're looking for control or portability, you'll find it here in the A Zildjian City Pack. The 12-inch New Beat Hi-hats bring the time-honored light-top/heavy-bottom "chick" to a new low-profile format, with a fast decay and focused pitch that stays out of the way of other instruments. Up top, the Zildjian 14-inch Fast Crash delivers a quick, cutting blow and fast choke that's great for many styles of modern music. Finally, the capable 18-inch Uptown Ride, with its unlathed surfaces and extensive hammering, delivers tight, defined sticking and a dark, throaty wash with tremendous musical potential. Percussionists, session players, and working drummers will all find something to love in the A Zildjian City Pack from Sweetwater.
Very versatile kit with a small footprint.
I recently purchased this kit for a new project I am working on making a hybrid kit. With the addition of an A Custom 16" FX crash and an A Custom 8" splash, this kit will provide the necessary tools for the job. Thank you Jimmy for being patient with me while I found the right set.
Well made and terrific sound
I'm very pleased with these cymbals-a versatile set that can played in both smaller venues and larger ones.
Love the ride, a nice set
The ride has a very nice dryness and I like the size of it, and although the bell is more or less non-existent, still a very fun and playable ride. The crash is also nice. My least favorite component was the hihats. They are okay but I'm not in love with them and will look to upgrade them down the road. I'm sure they cut through the mix though, pretty loud for 12" diameter.
Overall, not a bad deal for a good quality cymbal set and I'm happy. Solid four-stars, would be five if I liked the hats a little more.
Oh that ride baby!
This ride is amazing, as everyone seems to know. The hi-hats are basically new beats but quieter. As you can imagine these are good for little kits (I got it to go with the Tama cocktail kit). I'm honestly not that crazy about the 14" crash. It really just kinda sounds like a hi-hat top / big splash to me. BUT...it's basically free when you buy this pack (the ride and hi-hat by themselves are essentially the same price). So if you're like me, you can probably trade it in and spend a little bit of cash to get a different crash.
Great small kit cymbals!
I bought these to pair up with my Ludwig Breakbeats kit for smaller gigs. The cymbals sound amazing just like Zildjian A`s should. If you play one of these smaller drumkits I would definitely recommend these cymbals!
I love this pack!
As soon as I found out about this new pack, I was hooked because of the 18" ride. That ride is really something special for its size. It looks fantastic and sounds fantastic. Also the little hats are so much fun. The crash is great, but its just a crash that's all, nice little extra. When you make individual price calculations of each cymbal its like you get the crash for free!
In conclusion, this paired excellent with my little Sonor Safari kit. I'm extremely satisfied.
If you want a fun little set of quality cymbals, get this now!
