VOX AC30 Screamer!

By Dale Rose from Port Angeles, WA on September 14, 2022

This amp is amazing. It's got such great tone and has inputs and controls that really make it versatile. I bought this amp primarily for crunch and it does not disappoint. It's got classic styling and has a great look and would be a great addition to any collection.

Outstanding AMP & Salesman

By JOBE JUDE from OH on January 27, 2017 Music Background: Studio Owner & toured 30 years

This has to be the most overlooked amp on the Market !!!!! Just give it a try and this will become your favorite TUBE amp for life.... When you hear what it does to the overall tone and chimmey-sparkly highend it's all over for you..!!! It will be coming home with you... I am using the VOX AC30 in the stack version for studio use only....But don't let the 30 watts scare you off for using this tone Monster live... It has all the power you will ever need....I been using this amp in the studio for a couple of months now and I have never had a amp cut through the mix with such ease.... A warning to the Fender amp owners I have a 64 Supro that has not been touched since the purchase of this amp.... I had a client in from the ATL that claimed it sounded better than a Matchless amp....Just has that great classic tube tones... Great for blues or blues-rock...and for Telecaster country players....I have not tried any humbucker pickup guitars yet, only single coils... Real easy amp to adjust for tones and the Celestion greenback speakers are all you need.... A very special thanks to my salesman Brandon Miller for always taking good care of me...Sweetwater's sales and service has never failed me....

great amp

By Scott L. from Kansas on November 28, 2016 Music Background: Picking guitar back up after injurious retirement!

The amp with matching speaker cab just fills my house perfect. The great thing is try the lower settings and it's smooth tones are quiet enough for the bed room or den! Add the distortion pedal of your choice and the thing just sings clearly with minimum background hiss. Good bass and midrange are perfect and shredding is fun and clear as well. Thanks also to the excellent Sweetwater team their customer service is next to none. Great!

Outstanding products and support

By Odell from Columbia, SC on October 5, 2016

Purchased another brand of tube amp from Sweetwater and had problems with it. Sweetwater replaced my first amp with another of the same brand and model. The replacement unit had the same issue which led me to believe it was a design issue and not a quality issue. I asked to replace the second amp with the Vox AC30 Head and Cabinet. For some reason, I had always overlooked Vox as an option when shopping for tube amps. I had just never seen one in person and to be honest, I was always turned off by what I considered to be a lack of controls such as no bass/mid/treble for the normal channel and only a bass and treble for the top boost channel. Thanks so much to Joe James, Michael Morgan, and Tom Stiemel (Sp?) for making this Vox amp replacement happen. I have been totally blown away by the tone of this amp and cabinet. My main requirement was an amp that had a great clean channel. This amp is perfect on the normal channel. On the top boost channel, the amp has just the right amount of warm and fuzzy tube breakup. It is by no means a high gain amp nor did I want it to be one. For classic rock the top boost channel is perfect just the way it is. No pedals or other equipment needed. As for the lack of controls, this amp has taught me that sometimes less is more. I have no issues what so ever dialing in the exact tone I am looking for on this amp. From sparkling cleans to Jimmi Hendrix, Cream, The Animals sounding break up you could not ask for a better sounding amp. I played my first gig with this amp to a medium sized venue last weekend. The amp performed flawlessly and was plenty loud enough to compete with our over zealous drummer. The slight bit of British voicing that this amp has is just enough to make it stand out from the crowd and sound just enough different from other amps that it seems to add a different dimension to my playing now. It has a British sound without being overbearing and melds seamlessly in to our bands classic rock sound. I could not ask for a better amp and cabinet and can only ask myself why I never looked at Vox before now. Thanks Sweetwater for an awesome product and for standing behind your products by swapping out two of my previous amps and then finally allowing me to choose something else which fit my needs better and performed up to my high expectations. It is this service that will make me a continued Sweetwater customer and my first stop for all of my musical needs.

Awesome Vox Stack!!!

By Jeffrey Curry from Columbia, SC on February 14, 2016

I ordered this stack as soon as it was in stock. It arrived in a few days. Very fast shipment!

John Amato help me choose between Vox Fender and Marshall gear. I did a lot of research and decided on the 30 set up. I already have an AC 15 combo that I love. I was looking for more low end and high end room but at house friendly volume. The deciding factor on this set up was the built in attenuator that allows you to dial down to 3 or .3 watts. I can now get all of the range of sounds I was looking for at much lower volume when I need to so I can keep the neighbors happy.
I am a huge Beatles fan and can dial in anything I need to replicate the chime that they produced. I also love the Stones, Who, Kinks, Bruce and many more artists.
This thing really sounds awesome through my Epiphone Casino Elitist.
This was the perfect amp for my needs!!!!!
Again, thanks to John for spending so much time with me!

Solid amp

By Daniel from Nebraska on March 17, 2018 Music Background: Hobbyist

Solid sturdy construction. I bought the head version for the 30w/3w/.3w attenuator and the onboard reverb and tremelo Now I wish I would have just bought the handwired version. I really like the amp best at the full 30 Watts. When turning down the wattage you lose some character. Not impressed with that feature which is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. The reverb and tremelo are nice but even when cranked aren"t enough sometimes so I still use a reverb and tremelo pedal as needed. From now on I"m buying only the best version of whatever I buy. With 36 or even sometimes 48 months no interest at sweetwater , I"m just going to bite the bullet from now on. Anything worth buying, is worth buying right. So I"m summary it"s a good amp, but if I could do it all over, I would buy the handwired version with matching Blue Alnico cabinet
