Look No Further

You know that warm, satisfying feeling you get when you put on clothes fresh out of the dryer? Well imagine that, but for your ears. This is simply the best Vox style amp I've ever played. I jumped up to this from a Blues Jr. and was blown away at the difference in the quality of the tone. I've always loved the Vox sound however, an AC15 lacks headroom and an AC30 is just too ruddy loud for what I do. The Morgan AC20 balances headroom and volume beautifully, plus with a simple adjustment of the power level and cut knobs, I can get a great practice volume without making the amp sound flat. Don't underestimate the simple control layout as I once did. There's plenty of flexibility of tone in the knobs and switches available. I found that the simpler layout merely made it easier to dial in a sound that works for my rig/context. Sure there are other great hand-wired Vox style amps, but with the price point and the fact that it's made in the USA, you really can't beat this one. Top level components, top level workmanship, top level amp.

P.S. Even my buddy who hates Vox style amps thinks this one sounds righteous.

Wanna know what a real amp sounds like?

By Greg from North Carolina on September 9, 2019 Music Background: Multi intrumentalist/songwriter/hobby recordist

After owning some mid tier amps such as a Traynor ycv20wr and a Egnater rebel 30, I became unsatisfied with my amp tone and difficulty of balancing tone and volume. The AC20 has solved this. Real power scaling and simple controls makes it easy to dial in your preferred sound. However it's hard to make this amp sound bad. This thing sounds huge and full even at low volumes. It's super dynamic. I can get nice cleans then dig in for some crunch. I grabbed mine on a deal but would pay full price if I had to replace it. Get you one and learn what real amps are supposed to sounds like.

Morgan AC 20

I'm surprised to only see 1 review on this amp. I've owned 2 Morgan AC 40 Deluxes. Wasn't sure if the AC 20 would cut it for me. But it sounds great! Just less headroom than the 40. But still plenty loud to handle a full band with a loud drummer. I like it better than my 40 in a lot of ways. Gives up the goods at the right time! Was blown away at the price being under 2 grand. No complaints here. And I highly recommend it!

The Pinnacle of VOX Sound

By Ken on October 18, 2018

I've owned a myriad of VOX amplifiers, starting years ago with an AD50VT-212. Since then, I've had an AC15CC1, an AC30CC2X, and an AC4C1 (modded with a Weber Blue Pup). Played for almost 8 years with the AC30CC2X and later added the AC4C1 to my stable for at-home playing and recording. Bandmates of mine have also had the AC15C1X and the AC30HW2, which I have definitely tried.

The Morgan Amps AC20 is better than all of the above. It has replaced the AC30 and AC4 that I owned.

The controls are simple and effective. The sound is incredible. The amp is the most solidly built amp I have ever touched. The only thing missing? Spring reverb and tremolo. But with the number of guitar pedals on the market, you can surely make up for that. It handles pedals very well, especially simple boost to push it into overdrive.

Could not recommend this amp more highly.
