Great bag with one tiny flaw

By Jon from Florida
Music Background: Live Musician

I upgraded my old ahead armor case to this longer version and it does what I want. It's great. It's sturdy. It's got wheels. It's got padding. It's got handles everywhere... except for one spot - the bottom side. When rolling my gear in this bag, it's kind of heavy and a lot on my hand. If there was just one more handle on the bottom side then that would shift the weight further back and also allow some of the weight to rest on my forearm. Without that feature, the load is a bit heavy. Other than that, this is a great product. I've recommended the smaller version to at least one other person as well.

Exceptional Gig Bag

By Sweetwater Customer

All six cymbal stands, hi hat, and snare stand fit in nicely. Wheels made it a breeze to load by myself. The straps made it snug so nothing moved. I would buy it again.

My Second 'Ahead Armor' Case

By Sweetwater Customer

A few years ago I was in need of a new trap bag. My original from 1986 was really well beyond its useful lifespan by 2021 so I gave Ahead Armor a go.

Having a bag with wheels is something my old bag did not have, nor did it have comfortable handles placed in convenient locations. The old bag got the job done, but it was never a comfortable endeavour when loading in or loading out at gigs.

The Ahead Armor case feels far tougher than my old bag, and the internal, adjustable straps really do keep stands, tubes, and boom arms secure during transport. It's a great bag and holds my original gear beautifully. That said, I needed an additional bag to hold the hardware for my new drum kit, including a CW Rack system.

Once again, Ahead Armor came through with a rolling bag that's tall enough and large enough to accommodate the DW Rack parts, as well as all the new drum kit's hardware. It's a great bag and feels like it will last a very long time.

Best Hardware/Stand bag on the market

By Donn from Western WA
Music Background: 30+ yrs pro player

They are spendy - but they are worth it! All of my stands for my 7-pc kit with 8 cymbals all fit in two bags…then roll away to my truck happily! Thanks, Ashe!! Great suggestion!

Not sure about the top strap handle!

By jayson z. from MI

I have had the 38" version for years! It's been great! I ordered the 48" case for my drum Rack only. I use my 38" for everything else! But here's my only gripe. My 38" has the grommets and rivets from a strap handle that was removed. It was said that the strap wasn't adequate. The pull-out handle took its place. (use the pull-out handle in the out position only when rolling it, down when lifting it into a vehicle.
When I got my new 48" case, I went to grab the pull-out handle literally, and was completely surprised to see just a fabric strap at the top. It has a nice hard rubber grip on the strap, but I just don't see it lasting very long!

I'll know after a few shows, wish me luck! I'll update this soon.

This is not a whiny complaint! I still gave it 5 stars because, so far, it's fine. It's just an observation!

Perfect Bag for your drum rack

By Art A. from Arcadia California
Music Background: Heavy Metal drummer

This bag is heavy duty. It is spacious and has room for a 9 piece drum rack. The interior has straps so you feel your gear is safe. Shout out to my rep Cliff Hackleman for doing some investigation to make sure this gear was right for my needs.

Perfect case for drum stands!

A little pricey but an outstanding product. And the hat stand fits as well.

Holds A TOn

By BW
Music Background: Long time amateur musician

This bag is big enough to hold all my Cymbal and Tom Hardware. I have DW 9000 Series gear on a fairly large kit and this bag holds it all. Here's what I have in it:
AirLift Throne (Round)
Airlift Snare Stand
High Snare Stand
High Hat Stand
3 Double Tom Stands
4 Cymbal Stands and a bunch of extra cymbal arms and dog bones / Stackers
DW X-Hat Attachment
3 Sets of floor tom legs

It's heavy for sure - but easy to move with the wheels.

Ahead Rolling Hardware Case 48" x 16" x 14"

By Deb from Virginia
Music Background: Hobbyist

Like the fact the case is 48" tall and can easily accommodate hardware without a lot of disassembly. The case is rugged and seems very sturdy. On the inside the case is roomy, has straps for security, and can accommodate a lot of equipment. As compared to hard shell cases, the soft cases take up less room. I would not call the wheels over sized. Attractive case, pleased with the purchase.

Excellent Hardware Case

By Jose M. from Houston
Music Background: Drummer

I needed something to carry my Gibraltar rack equipment and it was difficult finding the right case without it costing an arm or a leg or being too heavy. This is rock solid and although I've only used a few times, I know it's going to last me a long while. Strong material, straps, and wheels, you can't beat it. If you have 40" to 48" Gibraltar rack pipes then this is the case for you. I would highly recommend this case.

Best hardware bag I've had

By David from MD
Music Background: Drummer/Producer

It holds up. I've had a number of hardware cases and bags over the years, and this one has to be the best so far. I've been working with this bag for the past 5 years. That by itself says something about the quality of the build. I've taken it on a couple regional tours, and on more gigs than I can count.

I think it provides good cushioning for your hardware and the material is very durable, I have no tears in mine yet, and don't suspect I will anytime soon. The zippers work great and are super strong. The extra strap reinforcement seem to help, but I rarely even use the extra buckles. The sled frame works great to keep things from getting messed up when you go up and down stairs, and the handles are really sturdy as well. I can't say much about the extendable handle since I don't really use it, but I imagine it works well.

Some people prefer hard cases for their hardware, but I've found that a good soft case can be more efficient. If you don't have a full load of hardware it doesn't have to take up as much space all the time. I typically play a 4 piece kit, and it fits in fine with my drum throne, stick bag, and in ear monitor rig.

This case is a beast.

Ahead Armor Cases OGIO Drum Sled Rolling Hardware Case 48"x16"x14"

By Tony

Excellent option for any working drummer. This case was the perfect size to allow my hardware to be minimally broken down. Speed is essential for me when I set up and tear down my kit. It is tall enough my hi-hat stand can remain at full height, as well as my ride cymbal stand, snare stand, and throne stand. I only use two crashes and they only need one quick height adjustment to get them to fit which is simple. Plus it can hold the pork pie throne seat (which before was in its own carrying case). So this bag is capable of holding a lot of gear and it rolls so nicely. I almost don't want to let it get banged up with road wear because it is so nice! I actually had the 38" version for a week and didn't like it because it required having to break down all of my hardware. It was a great bag, but I felt the larger size was better for my needs.

Makes set up and take down less of a chore

By Sweetwater Customer

My band mates and I always hated how drum hardware was so tedious and needed to be taken to my car piece by piece. No more! This thing has made it a breeze. Only thing I can say negative is that my pork pie throne was too big, but the throne divider is removable, and I'd honestly rather have more space. Great product!

Retracting handle

By Timothy J.

Love it. All but the misleading information about the retractable handle. I know there is no picture showing it, but, it is, in the description.
