I purchased these monitors 3.5 years ago and they haven't disappointed once, I am running them with Sound ID Reference and they rock. very clear, lows that can shake the house and a midrange that is delicate and balanced with no harshness. No need for a sub because they bring it all to you. I've shot my room once with Sound Id Reference and unless I've moved something they keep my settings perfectly.

Over one year ago I purchased these speakers. They sound great.
But since then nothing....they went from Ver 0.96 firmware up to Ver 1.0.
Not much has changed except the version number.
No power management. Always burning electricity.
Can't dim the annoyingly bright LEDs
No thought of having good sounding Linear filers.
Abandoned.... except if you want to read some reviews.
There are good speakers out there with full support.
Adam Audio was sold and abandoned, just like any customers.

I know that I am probably using these for a somewhat unorthodox purpose, but if you are into guitar modelers, read on. I was on a quest to find a good pair of speakers to use with my neural plugins and my fractal AX FX 3. I received a lot of advice to buy speakers in the sub 1K / pair category, because well, playing guitar thru expensive speakers would be a waste. Bad advice, this. I tried using good speakers, but at a much cheaper price point, and something was always disappointing me. So I decided to try these, and they really really deliver. The clarity, the responsiveness of these for guitar is absolutely amazing. Don't hesitate.

I'm writing this almost one year after my purchase so the initial honeymoon has been over for a spell now. I love these monitors and am super happy I bought the pair. They replaced a pair of Adam A7Vs that I had for several years. While I was happy with the A7Vs, they are near field and I wanted something with more throw. Besides using my studio monitors for recording/mixing/producing, I also enjoy listing to my vinyl collection. Therefore I wanted monitors with longer throw so I don't have to sit so close while listening to records. These A8H speakers are amazing - near, mid, and even completely across the entire room. Over this past year, I have sat and played my vinyl collection and have heard new details like I never heard before in many of those old records that I've had for eons. Plus, when I sit for hours on end working on my own recordings, I am not fatigued. They are simply amazing. For the past year, I used a different sub than an Adam sub. While I was pleased, I wondered if the Adam sub would make a difference. I recently purchased the Adam Sub15 from Sweetwater and am blown away by how good this system now sounds (see my recent review of the Adam Sub15). Whether I'm working on tracks or simply enjoying vinyl records, I'm more than satisfied with my Adam Audio system. It's the best (and even sounds better than my high fidelity home audio system that I have in our den). Sweetwater is great and so is my rep, Ed Needler.

I recently purchased the Adam A8H speakers for my recording room. I have been using the Adam A7X monitors for about four years, which I thought was a great sounding monitor, but the A8H took the sound in my room to a higher level. They have a full sound that makes the A7X sound a little anemic when comparing the two. I am thrilled with the A Control software that brings all the control settings on the back of the speakers to the computer screen, and the versatility it provides in setting up specific frequencies for problem frequencies in my room. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would recommend them to everyone. Also, a special thanks to my sales representative, Tiberius Huih, for working with me on the sale and making the sale so easy. It is hard to beat the Sweetwater team.

I am super happy with this monitors. I always wanted a 3 way system that sounds great, not too big and I could afford, these are the ones!!!

I've been mixing on an older set of Adam A7X's for several years now. I kept looking to find a reasonably priced / high quality set of 3-way monitors to replace them - and Adam releases these new A8H's. Deeper extension into the lows, better separation & clarity in the mids, and that stellar ribbon tweeter that I've grown accustomed to. 10-out-of-10 on these - solid work Adam !!!

I was using a pair of A5X with a Sub8 which is a near-field solution. They were really good for my studio recording/mixing sessions. I started using them just for listening to music but found them to be to small. I hesitated about upgrading to the A8H pair but am really glad I did. There is way more detail and I don't have to have them so close. I was impressed right away and even more impressed after break in. They really sing. Plus being a mid-field speaker, they fill my studio room well. The Sub8 works ok when the A8H is at a low volume. But when cranked, the Sub8 cannot keep up. Sub12 is the right one. I have not used them much for studio work yet but I can say they are better because of the mid driver. I can hear and fine tune upper mids so much better in my mixes. I've been listening to vinyl records a lot lately and loving it because of these speakers. I'm hearing details like I've never heard before. And of course, Sweetwater and my sales engineer Ed Needler are great.
