Completely changes the mic for me
Maybe it was because I haven't figured out how to properly place myself in relation to the mic, or maybe it's because of the way this particular windscreen filters the sound, but this has changed the game for me in terms of how I can get my voice to sound and I love it. I couldn't justify the cost of an SM57b to see if it would work better than my condenser mic, but I've had an SM57 around for years and saw this recommendation and I'm happy I gave it a try! Not having had direct experience with the SM57b I can't say how close it actually gets, but comparisons online indicate that it gets pretty close for a fraction of the price!

A lot of "experts" will try to tell you that this windscreen won't fit on a Shure SM58. Don't listen to them. It absolutely most certainly will. Just cut out a bit from a plastic bottle, roll it up and use it to slide your SM58 into the cavity of the A81WS. Works like a charm.
This is the best windscreen I've ever used. Plosives are IMPOSSIBLE. You could be reporting from within the eye of a tornado and you will sound fantastic with this thing. When fitted onto a decent handheld, you suddenly have a slightly darker, plosive-free "broadcast" tone.
You don't need to drop $ on a Shure SM7B. Just grab a Shure A81WS and slap it on a SM57/58. Thank me later.
