Excellent

By Eric from Ohio
Music Background: Weekend warrior

Strong for a large person to sit on, good enough comfort for a three hour gig.

Nice chair.

By Sweetwater Customer

Chair is fairly heavy which is a good thing. It does not rock around but does tend to squeek and settle a bit when sitting down. Strongly recommend!

Just do it!

By Dustsy B. from NE

Extremely sturdy. Very comfortable. Don't hesitate spend the money. You'll want to spend more time behind the kit.

Like Seating on a cloud!!!

By Rickey M. from Illinois

First I want to thank the Sweetwater team for their great service as always. I've never had a tractor style throne seat, so I was hoping I did the right call. Well this Gibraltar 4 leg throne is like sitting on air. I think the tractor seat lets my legs in a more comfortable position. And the way the seat is made I don't feel like I'm going to fall off like the round Gibraltar I have. I like the 4 legs. It won't tip over( at least it hasn't yet). It's has plenty of up and down travel. I looked for a hydraulic throne but they didn't go high enough. I may have not looked hard enough too. But I was amazed how comfortable it is. The price was maybe a little steep sense it doesn't have hydraulic adjustment. But it is very easy to adjust and lock in place.

Great Throne, Plenty of Room

By Heath S. from Jasper, AL
Music Background: Singer, songwriter, gigging guitar, drums, vocals

I decided on this one, because it was wider and the solid four leg base. I am a heavier guys 6'2" - 285, so it was necessary to be sure that it would be comfortable. If you're gigging for 3-4 hours, you better be comfortable. The Pork Pie I used for awhile was thick, but after a couple of sets, I was tired of it. I had some cheap and better quality round stools that were okay, but thirty minutes and you were in pain (I also have had back surgery). This stool seems very comforting, wide with contoured support, and sturdy. I let you know after I put some serious time on it if anything changes, but I'm pleased at the start, for sure.

Great Throne

By James from Texas

I bought this for playing/practicing guitar, and I couldn't be happier. It is very comfortable even after a long practice session. The base is very well made and extremely sturdy. Highly recommended!

Incredibly Sturdy

By Christopher T. from Fitchburg, MA

I've been playing drums for 25 years and have owned many drum thrones. This Gibralter 9908 is by far the best one I've ever owned. I've used many other popular brand thrones and the quality of this one trumps them all. The seat itself is black leather with red stitching and looks very cool. It has plenty of padding in it for support. I am a SUMO sized fat guy and this holds me just fine. The base really is what impresses me the most. This thing could probably hold a car up (though I don't recommend you try that...). SUPER sturdy. The feet are huge and made of extra thick rubber. This thing feels like it's bolted to the floor when I sit down to play. I am very confident in it's stability, which allows me to do whatever I need to, to get the job done on the kit. Stop looking at Thrones and buy this one. Plus, Sweetwater shipped it to me SUPER fast.

Very solid

By D B. from United States
Music Background: new to drumming

Very nice throne. Fast and easy to change height after grand daughter has been playing. It is rock solid and fine to perch on for extended periods of time. Made of heavy material and double stitched. If it had a motor I'd drive it to work. Love it.

Heavy Duty

By Jesse M. from Cincinnati OH
Music Background: Drummer, Guitarist, Pianist, Studio engineer, Composer.

This is the first drum throne that really felt like it was rooted to the ground I have ever owned. Its heavy, but also feels really good to sit on. Even after a four hour show. Gibraltar 9908, all the way!
