Indispensible....

Couldn't recommend this little piece of kit enough. Exceptionally well-built hardware and software. Makes it much more convenient to adjust your levels and gives quite a bit of comfort by reducing the perceived risk that you'll blast something out of your Genelec that will be louder than desired. As for the speakers (I have 8350A's and a 10" sub on order), I feel like they have been the single most important investment I've made in my studio. They dramatically improve the quality of my tracks, mixes and masters and give me far greater confidence that I know what my recordings will sound like on other systems. I love these speakers and couldn't recommend them (or the volume control) enough.

Useful but under-engineered and tweaky

By Sweetwater Customer on August 11, 2021

It feels like a really overpriced simple rotary encoder. Has a decent weight so it doesn't move around on your desk, but that's about it for positives. The action of this knob is continuous (not stepped) and is very sensitive, occasionally sending spurious control signals when just sitting on my desk. I really would have preferred a stepped knob, especially since the GLM software volume adjustment already works in 0.5dB steps. Overall the action feels ok but has a slight metal-on-metal scrape sound/feel when being turned which is a bit meh. It is still extremely useful, however, but I think they could have done a lot better.
