Plenty solid and light. Exactly what I needed. I cut two inches off of the top high hat tube so it would sit low enough to suit me.

Excelentes stand

I needed something lightweight and wanted the traditional look and convenience of the flat base option. As usual, Gibraltar did not disappoint. I chose this set over the Tama and higher priced DW set due to the snare stand design and the convertible boom stand option. It is heavier both in weight and girth than the comparable DW and Tama sets, but not enough to make a big difference during set up/tear down and load in/load out.
Pros:
1) Very well made and designed. Well thought and engineered.
2) Very sturdy under heavy play, with little to no sway.
3) Adjustable Hihat stand is GREAT!
4) Around 20 lbs for all 4 pieces, and packs up very compact.
5) Memory lock system is great for quick and easy set up and tear down.
Cons:
1) Plastic wing nut on snare adjuster would be better made from an aluminum or other lightweight material. This may hold up well, but is the only potential long term issue I see.

I highly suggest this for any player from beginner to expert who is trying scale down on weight and enjoy a quick and easy tear down.
