Great little monitors
Got these for a portable rig. Very pleased.
High quality small monitors
The Genelec 8010As are high quality small desktop monitors with accurate mids and highs. With the small 3" drivers however I found that I needed to add the Genelec 7040A 6.5" subwoofer for a 2.1 monitor array to properly record and mix electric and acoustic bass guitar tracks.

What sorcery is this?
Wow! The build quality...amazing! Simply magic in two small boxes. I've heard professional monitors in famous studios and I have to say, these will give them a run for their money. They simply sound clear, flat and responsive in ways that you'd expect a larger speaker to behave. The bass will fall off at a certain level but that's where the subwoofer comes into play if you want to hear those lower frequencies. My Sweetwater Representative Patrick Weaver took good care of my order. I have other monitors, Yamaha HS8s and HS5s. These handle my lower frequencies when needed. When I heard these little babies come to life, I simply said, "What sorcery is this?" Great job Genelec!
