La Bella 760N Deep Talkin' Bass Black Nylon Tapewound Bass Guitar Strings - .060-.115 Standard Reviews
Glide effortlessly from note to note with a set of La Bella Black Nylon Tape Deep Talkin' Bass strings. These premium tapewound bass strings feature black nylon wrappings over stainless steel windings, providing you with a remarkable balance of smooth action and rich tone. They're an excellent choice for standard electric basses, particularly if you prefer a combination of deep lows and complex overtones, but you'll also find La Bella's Black Nylon Tape strings an excellent fit for your fretless or acoustic bass guitar.
Excellent Bass strings
Great tone and feel
Best Strings
I play bass in a jazz group, and I've always liked the sound and feel of flat wound strings. I decided to try the nylon wounds; I was glad I did. They deliver a slightly deeper tone (which I like) and there is even less friction than the stainless flat wounds. Slides on the strings are easier and much quicker. Great feel; great sound!
Love them
Butter! They sound extra smooth on my long scale. Very durable also.
Nice…
My favorite strings so far
Perfect for Bass Drop tuning
I used it with a 4-string drop-C tuning. It sounds much better than previous thinner roundwound string. It will be my standard for drop C tuning in the future.
Great set of strings for the tone.
Already a big LaBella user, I was not a fan of tape wound strings, finding them too dark and muted for my use… until now. Picked up a 2023 Fender Ventura II series Tele bass with the 'mudbucker' pickup. It arrived, strung with a set of bright sounding rounds. Just didn't sound right so I tried some flats… better, then these and here I found the sweet spot. The only downside is these strings are not offered in string-through construction, but so far the break across the bridge seems fine. If you are looking for a full sound with the highs dialed back, check these out!
My Favorite Brand and String!
I love these, I have such a hard time playing anything else now! With White and Gold being options, how can you go wrong!?!?!
Deep, thick tone, deep like Plato after a good nap.
The Best!
I Love these strings. I have them on many of my basses. I pretty much only use LaBellas. I do have a set of D-R, which I like. But LaBella is my go-to brand!
Great strings, and Customer Service
Just what I was looking for to help the tone and playability of a Custom made Bass.
And thanks to Ethan for the best ,as always, customer service anywhere.
Awesome Strings
Great sounding strings. Little more thump than rounds, but not near thumpy like flats. Has it's own great sound. super smooth and easy on fingers
Bestr Strings!
These strings have a nice warm feel, awesome for Jazz and Blues. I use them on my Alembic Fretless, P-Bass, Squire Fretless and Will be putting them on my Steinberger as well...Highly recommended!
Labella nylons
I have bought many different nylon coated strings for my Gretsch hollow body bass, and these LaBella strings are by far the best. Very easy action, and excellent acoustic tone, especially plucking on the upper neck. Excellent buy!
Overall company performance
My favorite internet company. They assign a sales person to your account and they follow through with any questions. The quality of their products are Top Shelf. Shipping was quick and it was a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Sweetwater.
Best strings to be creative
I set up my ESP Ltd Frank Bello bass with these strings as an experiment. Since I don't play heavy metal I thought that the strings would look awesome black on matte black and MAYBE also sound good. Well, not only they sound really good and smooth but they can also bend and give you a wider range of playing styles possibilities. I set up the bass at Sam Ash and I couldn't be happier. Oh and the look of it all, I think it's just insane! I have now a special Bass with a unique, lovely warm sound.
La Bella Forever!!
Absolutely love these strings. I don't know what took me so long to try nylons. I will never go back to metal.
Meaty, upright like sound
For most players, the 750N set is fine, but as long as you don't have to modify your nut, the 760N set is a little better. I prefer the larger gauge and higher string tension.
Wonderful Sound
I wanted a different sound for my acoustic bass and these strings do it! My Martin B-1 is my only fretted instrument and now it has the slide and tone of a fretless.
Has the same tension as standard strings!
I was worried about the gauge being heavy on these strings but was relieved to see they have a similar tension as a set of 40-100. And I did not need to file the nut on my Dean bass to seat them properly. They have a clearer sound with a little less bottom than the flats that were previously installed. I would definitely recommend them if you"re looking for a more upright sound with better clarity and brightness than standard flats.
Unique sound playibility
I have been using these strings for years. They never wear out. I use them on three of my basses. P bass. Carvin LB70. Gibson EB2. Every other bassist I have ever let play my instruments fell in love with them and immediately started using them. Very gentle on the fingers. Can play for hours without sore fingertips. Plus they look really cool and attract a lot of attention. Try them. You will thank me.
My favorite strings
Best strings for my Stingray. Great balanced tension. Super smooth. No finger noise at all. Sound good with finger style, slap or pick. Fat fundamental but with way more sweet top end brightness than any flat wound I have ever tried. If you like flats but find them too "blurry", especially with effects then these are the strings for you.
Very good
Strings are very good great sound
Smooth without any sonic sacrifice.
Not only do these strings look great, but they feel amazing. They baby your fingers. Plus, the sound great. I'm definitely going to pick these up again.
