The Lakland Skyline 65-S Flamed Maple HSS is Lakland's take on a classic solidbody electric guitar. Not only does this guitar look incredible with its stunning flame top and ebony fingerboard; it also delivers smooth playability and the tone you need for any musical setting. Beautiful look....classic sound.
I went up to Sweetwater today and bought this guitar. Its absolutely beautiful to look at and the neck feels smooth when playing. The ebony fretboard adds to the smooth feel. If you want a classic Strat sound with a more modern look and feel...this is it. Even without splitting the coils on the humbucker, it still has that tradition Strat "quack" with the bridge and middle pickup engaged. The bridge p.u. in coil split mode is a little too thin and high for me. But very Tele-ish.
The only reason I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5 is because the guitar comes with no case or gig bag, even . This guitar is too nice to not be protected. So if you're going to buy this guitar..you will want to get a case or at least a padded gig bag.
