The Peavey 6505 Piranha is small, only slightly larger than a thick paperback book and weighing in at only 2.5 lbs. That's made possible by its solid-state power amp stage, yet Peavey found room to add a 12AX7 tube to the gain structure to add real tube harmonics to your tone. The 6505 Piranha delivers 20 watts to a 4-ohm cab, 15 watts to an 8-ohm cab, and 10 watts to a 16-ohm cab.

Of course the effects loop is the perfect place to place time-based effects like delay and reverb pedals, but it also offers creative potential. By connecting the effects loop send of the 6505 Piranha to the input of a different amplifier, you can use the Piranha for tone shaping and to hit the preamp of the second amp hard. If you record guitar amps in your studio regularly, the 6505 Piranha is a compact and inexpensive way to expand your sonic options.
