Gibson Custom 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue VOS - 60s Cherry Reviews
From its chunky ’64-profile neck to its unique trapeze tailpiece, the Gibson Custom 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue VOS delivers the authentic tone, looks, and feel of Trini’s original (and highly collectible) signature guitar. In the design of this amazing semi-hollowbody electric guitar, Gibson’s elite Custom Shop luthiers exhaustively poured through scans and blueprints of the coveted originals to give you an instrument, as a ’60s Gibson advert stated, “… as exciting as the young performer who helped create it.” A laminated Maple body with elongated diamond soundholes and a satin ebony nitro finish, paired with a Mahogany set neck rocking a non-reverse Firebird headstock design, give this axe serious stage and studio cred, while its dual Custombucker pickups serve up a veritable smorgasbord of tone.

Trini Lopez
A truly unique guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop. This guitar may not be for everyone bit it checks a lot of boxes for the versatile player. The attention to detail and VOS appointments from Gibson are remarkable. They make this instrument as much a work of art as an instrument of art. I highly recommend this anyone considering whether or not it would fit their playing style or genre(s). And with the extra attention provided by a Sweetwater engineer I think Sweetwater is the company to make this type of investment with.
Another beautiful instrument by Gibson!
This guitar is a joy to play and is as versatile as they come. Behind its physical beauty lie the wide range of sounds that can be achieved all while enjoying a great overall feel with solid sustain. The pickups have a little more warmth than many humbuckers featured on other semi-hollowbody guitars. This along with a surprisingly resonant center block design help create a truly unique tone.
