Electric Guitar Humbucking Neck/Bridge Pickup Set with Alnico II Magnets and Lifton Presentation Case

Every humbucker in history can be boiled down to a combination of wire, magnets, and the structural bit holding it together. Yet undeniable magic occurs when the right components come together in the right configuration, adding up to an immaculate whole that’s far beyond the sum of its parts — so it was when Gibson first introduced its legendary PAF humbucker in the late 1950s, and so it is with Gibson Accessories’ 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Edition Series 2 set — the most accurate pair of PAF re-creations ever constructed. From the Alnico II magnets to the tooling marks on the pickups’ base plates to the Murphy Lab–aged nickel covers, these pickups go to fanatical lengths to provide the same PAF formula that would have rolled off the Kalamazoo factory floor in 1959. What about the tone? The 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Edition Series set breathes an undeniably vintage voice into any 6-string, utterly exemplifying the rich dynamics, pristine articulation, and legendary warmth that has made the vintage PAF perhaps the most mythologized and mimicked pickup in guitar history. Limited to a run of 1,000 models, these pickups are strictly available from Sweetwater or direct sales from Gibson — act fast to secure your Gibson 1959 Humbucker Collector’s Series 2 pickups before they’re gone for good!

1959 Gibson pick ups.

By Teresa A. from Glide, OR
Music Background: Amateur

I have a 2018 SG. I replaced the stick pick ups with the high rent 1959 pick ups from Gibson. I replaced the stock wiring with Stew Mac "golden age" wiring. I really love my new set up and sound. It's got that LED Zep 2 sound. That's what I was looking for. It was spendy, but I really dig it. I absolutely feel it was worth it.

Just do it

By Andrew from BC Canada
Music Background: Andrew Michael Blues Band

There will understandibly be hesitation when looking to buy these pickups. Yes, they're not cheap.... But, if you have spent $ on an R9 already, the question is: do you want the best 1959 PAF sound emulated from your guitar? Yes, you do.

These pickups are freakin fantastic. The bridge provides that bright classic 59 PAF growl with a hot slightly overdriven sound. Think Paul Kossoff through a Marshall stack or Gary Moore Still Got The Blues. The neck pickup is simply like melted butter on toast. Warm and smooth. The case and stickers are cool, sure, but overall it's safe to say if you buy these you ain't gonna sell them because that would make no sense.

Turn your R9 into the real deal and get these before they're gone. Just do it. A massive thanks to Ryan at Sweetwater for helping me with this purchase!

By CHRIS B. from Visalia, CA

i bought 3 sets of these to put in my murphy R9's, i wanted to keep them all gibson murphy guitars, they are outstanding pickups with A2 mags, which give that lowend grunt but clear on top. the custombuckers are good, but these are on another level

The Real Deal

By DJ

I was a bit skeptical with these but decided to try them in my R9 anyway. The custombuckers that were already in my guitar sounded amazing but curiosity got the better of me and thought how much better could this set really be? Well, I have to say that it tool an already incredible to the next level. The dynamics of these pickups is what stood out first and then the smoothness and sweetness it added to the notes was was second to none. I fully expected to try these and realize they were just hype but now, they're staying in. If you're on the fence, jump. It's worth it.

Brought my USA Standard to life.

By Jame C. from Vacaville, Ca.
Music Background: Guitarist

Its unfortunate that a $ guitarafter taxes needs a $ pickup upgrade. Perhaps I should have just bought a Custom Shop guitar?

To be fair, I also put in 500k pots and Black Beauties, and a Faber tail piece. $ upgrade.

It is an amazing guitar now.

Even with all of that, it still isn't my R9.
