Excellent crossover nylon-string guitar

The 55FCE is tailor-made for the rock guitarist who's crossing over into flamenco or classical playing, as its thin profile and cutaway-electric-style neck will feel instantly familiar. Additionally, the 55FCE's ebony fingerboard makes for smooth playing with a percussive pick attack. Not simply a standard acoustic guitar that is strung with nylon strings, the 55FCE was built in the Spanish tradition, from its Spanish cedar neck right down to its Spanish fan bracing.

Fishman Prefix Problend pickup gets you heard

The Fishman Prefix Pro Blend is designed specifically for slim-bodied acoustic-electrics. Utilizing an internal microphone, as well as an acoustic matrix under-saddle pickup, the Fishman Prefix Pro furnishes you with a great deal of versatility. A volume control, in addition to a 3-band EQ and pickup/mic blend control, provides you with complete control over your sound. Additionally, the Fishman Prefix Pro incorporates a feedback-fighting notch filter and phase switch in its design to remove problem frequencies and ensure that you sound your best.

Cordoba is the best , period.

I own a "Cordoba GK studio Negra" already witch I bought in Dec.9,2016 from Sweetwater. It is one of the best if not the best nylon string guitar I own, some from Spain and costing thousands of dollars more. The Cordoba Plays, sounds and feels like it is an extension of Me, very responsive to the touch makes you want to play. So being so impressed with that Model I thought I would Check out the "55FCE Negra Ziricote model" which is made in Spain, completely impressed it has a very big sound for a thinner body guitar and fits me like a glove and again great feel and sound. I am a professional player and teacher for over 40years and can't praise the workmanship and sound of these guitars, in my opinion you can't go wrong with the Cordoba line of insturments . P.S. the personnel at Sweetwater are great to work with.

Simply Beautiful

Normally, this guitar purchase would not even take place as buying a quality instrument online can be daunting. But the Sweetwater experience sets a rare level of customer service that is simply world class. Therefore 4 of the 5 stars belong to Derek & Riley from the sales team. They were outstanding and provided me with more one on one care and customer courtesy that you rarely find these days. They answered all my questions, offered the best deal, and set aside a chosen model for me to make the purchase. Afterwards, I was forwarded a set of HD pictures of the guitar I chose. They took away the complexity out of purchasing a musical instrument online and I am confident that Sweetwater takes care of its customers. I am no longer just a Sweetwater customer, I am now an advocate. I say this having 4 other brick and mortar music stores only a short distance away. Now for the 55FCE Limited. Sound and aesthetics are really subjective but I think that this and other Cordobas I have owned have always been of great quality. The 55FCE Limited is simply beautiful. Maybe I lucked out but not all guitars at the Espana range are made in Spain, and this one happened to be. Perhaps this lends to a sense of collector's appeal. I was able to compare this with a Cordoba C12 and a GK Pro on hand and there is a noticeable difference in the sustain and both deep & warm tones. The build of course is a factor as the 55FCE is comparatively thin but it is very solid and carries a surprisingly rich volume and brighter tones for being so small - this may also be a product of the Spruce and Ziricote combination or just how well its binded. So those looking for aesthetics, comfort, portability and a unique sound may well find it here. I look forward to her "opening" out some more in the coming weeks. I concur with all the previous reviews and encourage those looking at this limited edition to go for it, Sweetwater will take care of you.

Beyond My Expectations

I am new to Classical guitar. I've stayed away from it for years because my hands tend to be on the smaller side and I was unable to find anything that fit me comfortably. While I didn't realize it then, the quality and design of the instrument played into that decision as well. I had nothing to compare it to until now. My father in law purchased the Solista about a week prior and that renewed the fire within me. After doing a considerable amount of research and learning everything I could about Cordoba and other manufacturers, I found myself even more impressed and drawn to the brand. However, I shifted to a slightly different style that would allow me to expand into other types of music. The 55FCE Limited fits like a glove. It's the most comfortable, easy to play guitar I own. Believe it or not, I bought it sight unseeen. . .only because I have had such amazing experiences with Sweetwater. . . Ben Porter in particular. You can't get any better guidance or customer service anywhere else, and I've been to other places. I'm a lifer at this point. Just before the guitar was sent out, Ben called to chat. I love that he, as I'm sure others who are a part of the Sweetwater family, take the time to connect, discuss and make sure the instrument you have selected is going to fit your needs as well as wants. His advice, opinions and general info has always been spot on. That personal touch makes you feel more like you're interacting with a friend you can trust. I also love receiving, via email a gorgeous set of professional studio pictures of my guitar upon purchase. . . including serial number and weight (same ones that are on the site). The day I got my guitar, I got a confirmation from Ben that it had been delivered. I got another email thanking me for my purchase and encouraging me to stay in touch if I needed anything related to the guitar or anything else. If the past is any indicator of the future, he'll be calling in another week to see how things are going. Who does that? All these extra touches of customer service and great pricing is what makes for return customers. Back to the guitar. . .the minute you place it in your hands you feel two things. It's an incredibly light guitar and so well balanced that it becomes a part of your body. I've never experienced anything like that with a guitar. I hate putting it down. The craftsmanship is exceptional as well. It's gorgeous to look at and a testament to the craftsmanship in Spain. I was especially intrigued that there are only about 150 of these guitars made by Cordoba as part of their Limited Edition. The width of the neck was not at all intimidating as I was first concerned it might be. I took a chance and talked myself into giving it a try and boy was I impressed. It's absolutely perfect. It seems so much easier to play than my other acoustics. . . your hands glide effortlessly up and down the neck, across the frets to the point that it almost plays itself. I jokingly say it plays like butter. I can't say enough about it. The sound is also impressive. Before plugging it in I began to play and couldn't believe how impressive it was in terms of it's resonance, which in my past experiences hasn't always been the best for acoustic-electrics. . . but this was uncharacteristically deep and full. Plug it in and you're absolutely blown away by it's potential to meet an incredibly wide range of demands. I've owned a handful of Ovations over time, and while I always speak very highly of them, this is on a whole different level. Cordoba has created an instrument that excels in artistry, quality, design and performance. For the price point, you won't find better in my humble opinion. Plays like a much more expensive guitar. . . .and what a looker! Combine that with the buying experience at Sweetwater and you can't go wrong. Thanks so much guys! By the way, I listened to every Youtube video there was out there to get a better sense of what this guitar sounds like. In the end, it was even better in person. . .by far.
