Dunlop 512P140 Primetone Triangle Grip Guitar Picks 1.4mm 3-pack Reviews
Dunlop guitar picks are a top choice of today's pro musician! Dunlop's wide variety of gauges, shapes, sizes and materials allows the player to select the exact pick for his/her own particular style of playing. From classic country to nu-metal, every great player knows that their pick is an integral part of their tone, and Dunlop guitar picks are the picks that more pros rely on in the studio or on stage. Picks are a grossly underrated accessory. Don't sacrifice your tone...pick Dunlop guitar picks!
Worth the $$$
Plays very smooth, the pick just glides across the strings, yet the sound is sharp and articulate. Makes me sound like I'm working harder than I really am. Pinch harmonics are a breeze, too.
Nice
Nice picks. I wish they made this one in .73
Great steel string picks!!
Love playing with these on my Taylor!! The shape matches my Thille and Blue Chip mandolin picks, but these sound best with the D'Addario ej19's I use. Still use traditional shape Dunlop 1.0's on electric, and prefer these with my Taylor steel string.
And they last quite a long time!!
My new Fav picks
These things are amazing. They're very grippy and feel amazing. I czn honestly say that I've found my favorite picks ever.
Perfect for Mandolin
These are just what the doctor ordered for my mandolin playing. I have a light touch, and play guitar with my bare fingers. These have dimples that make them really easy to hold onto. Crazy expensive for flatpicks? Yes. But they work for me.
I've found my pick
I experimented with different picks for at least 2 years. My main gripe about most picks is that they were too slick. I tried different textured picks, but I never found one that suited me. I finally decided I would spend just a little bit more money and I also wanted to experiment with an equilateral triangle shape, so I ordered a 3-pack of the Primetone triangle grip picks. I was very apprehensive about the 1.4mm thickness. The thickest pick I had used before that was a .80mm. I expected the thicker pick to be really loud on the strings, but it was just the opposite. There is very little pick noise and the strings sound mellower when they are picked. And the raised lettering makes the pick really easy to hold onto without slipping around. Just ordered my second 3-pack yesterday.
Best pick ever!
I can never get comfortable with the standard pick design and was becoming quite frustrated. I tried this pick style as a last ditch effort to be comfortable and it paid off. I can now fidget with my pick and the design seems to correct for it. Great picks!
Fantastic
I've been playing guitar for almost 50 years and this is the best pick I have used so far.
I'm a triangle pick addict now!
If you struggle to go back and forth from using the pick to holding in in your hand while fingerpicking, look no further than this pick. I used to worry about getting the right pick edge when I would move it around in my hand, but now no matter what I do, I always get an edge! Problem solved! The grip is a plus for my sweaty hands.
The only pick in my case
Ever since I discovered the Primetone "grip" style pick I've been hooked. I first used a semi-direct replacement for the Fender Heavy (351) smooth, then tried some other gauges, and shapes before landing on this model. It's just perfect for me. My favorite part is the fact that it doesn't matter how I grab it, because it's completely uniform in shape - every corner is the same. I also record myself and a friend a fair amount, who is using the 1.3 Primetone standard shape "grip" pick - no audible clicking in the recordings, so maybe that (noted in other reviews) depends on other factors.
Dunlop Primetone Triangle w Grip
Have used these for several years and are excellent. Big, bright, effortlessly loud tone. Fast off/through the strings. Very grippy, which is awesome bc there are a number of triangle 1.5(ish) mm picks that are slick. Overall excellent product and value. I would/will purchase again.
Great Picks For The Money.
These picks have a great tone. They just glide off the strings, and the grip ensures that they won't go anywhere. You can still hear some of that "clicking" sound from the attack of the pick, but it's not too bad.
Love 'Em!
I've been playing 41 years and have been a V-Pick user for the last decade, but I decided to try these and I'm glad I did. They're less expensive than V-Picks, feel great, stick to my fingers real well, have a sweet tone, and look cool too. Everything I want in a pick.
Almost awesome...
This is great for flat picking. Feel good in the hand. The beveled edges interact nicely with the strings... It just kind of roles of the string and creates a nice warm loud tone. The grip is unbelievable... It's almost like the pick is holding on to you. My only complaint is that you can hear the attack of the pic... It's got a clanky plastic sound to it. I'm still hunting for the perfect pick.
