I own one of these booms. Had it for 4 years and not one problem. Everybody's application is different. The ones who complain are the ones who expect the world for nothing. What did they expect? BUT... They do not break like other customers say they do. If you want smooth tilters these are not for you, but unlike others I am not picky and mine has stood the test of time.

I have been building up my rack for over a year now, and I have to say that these booms are robust and reliable. Very much worth it. I plan on getting more so I can put up the rest of my cymbals.
You Get What you pay for.
I had one of these booms for almost a year and not 1 issue. Sure it does not come with a toothless gear but I was reading all the other reviews and seems the world today wants the world for 25 cents.
Poor design
If you must have gibraltar then buy the next level up. These are the bottom end value. I bought 2 (3 packs) and of the 6 boom arms 4 of them broke right at the ratchet on the tube. Very thin metel not made to last.
4 of 6 broke within 6 months
Do not buy the light dudt gibraltar cymbal boom arms the design is very bad and i have had 4 of the 6 i have break. Very thin poor quality metal and bad design.
