Great for acoustic flatpicking
Ever since starting to tackle bluegrass flatpicking on my acoustic I've been searching for the "perfect" pick since I'm not a fan of using the picks I like for electric on acoustics. 1.0 is a good thickness for me on acoustic...tried the .88 & 1.14 Tortex and neither worked as well. The tone is really just like the description describes: tortex sound but just a touch warmer. Not much pick noise on the strings either. Ultex was bright but too clicky. Primetone is a touch too bright. Nylon is too warm. The Fender Tru-Shell Casein pick was a huge disappointment as it sounded completely dull. Dunlop Jazztones felt sluggish. V-Picks and Gravity both too clicky on the strings. This flex and the regular blue Tortex seem the best but I prefer the flex just a little more.
I'll probably always be searching for the perfect acoustic pick (I use either red Jazz III or Gravity Big Mini Sunrise 1.5mm on electrics) but this is 1.0 Tortex Flex is the best I've found so far.
