Thanks to Alan Reyes I purchased a Ric 4003s. The bass was delivered in a timely fashion and at an awesome price! Setup was great with only minor tweaks. Alan is a super guy to do business with!

This is a beautiful bass! A work art in sound. I now understand WHY the Ric a 'go to' bass for all my heros!
Of course, a Fender P is a 'go to' bass, also, but the flavor is different.
It's just like a pizza….the Fender is the sauce, and the Ric is the cheese.
They taste good together, but each one can make their own pie. Has always been, and always will be

AS I'm into my third day of owning this instrument, it's been nothing but pure joy . First , it playes as good as it looks with amazing balance when strapped on and a killer neck that is an absolute joy to play --- Yep even nicer than my Sadowsky . But let's take this a step further , the sound ---- Nothing quite like it and will be the deal breaker to take you over the top . My heartfelt thanks to Sweetwater and to my sales associate Tad Schaffer who is always there to assist and help . He is truly a great asset to Sweetwater ----

First... It's a Rickenbacker. You either live em or hate em. Personally, I love em. This bass however arrived with a defective toggle switch & an absolutely horrible setup. Sweetwater sent me the correct replacement switch so that problem was solved. The setup however... OMG! Neck way out of adjustment, intonation not even close, bridge saddles set quite high. I don't know what's going on at the RIC factory but JEEZUS! Now on to the good. Shaka, my salesperson at SW is Awesome! Gave me a great deal on the bass & took care of the issues. The fit, finish & construction of the bass is flawless. It sounds like a RIC! It plays beautifully. The bass is capable of various tones from thuddy motown/R&B to full on grinding metal. It sounds great through my Ampeg tube amp & 4x10 cab. All in all I'm quite satisfied with my purchas.

This is a MUST-HAVE bass. It's weird how you can get the 'Fnder P' or 'J' sound from so many other avenues--but not that 'Ric' sound, which is SO good--without going to the only source.

The neck is huge, chunky--especially at the nut. But that is about the ONLY problem--and some may should deal-break on that. But beyond that:

This is a fantastic bass!!! The most major consideration is the "S" aspect -- which I believe to be the "Single" output. For me, all good.

And if you're looking for that 'Ric-o-sound' thing, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Tech21 dUg pedal. But even so, this gets the sound and feel of the RIC with the one output. I'll just never do that 'stereo-amps' thing on a gig--just want/need to plug one jack in, and have it sound so good. And it does.

My sales engineer was Steven Stewart it's my second time that he provides me with an excellent customer service. The first time was when I bought my fender mustang bass and now with my Rick 4003s. After waiting 14 months for guitar center to be able to get my Rick bass the only calls I received were that I was in back order. At that moment I decided to cancel my order with guitar center and call Sweetwater.Steven was able to get me the specific bass that I saw online but it was a problem the bass that I wanted had been taken to the Sweetwater store an hour earlier so he put my call on hold ran downstairs to be sure that the bass still available and also in excellent condition. Finally, It's a Rickenbacker great tone, awesomeness design and finish!

I had the pleasure of working with Chris Lewis at Sweetwater. Chris was very helpful in helping me to select an awesome Rickenbacker 4003S Jetglo bass. He responded properly to every email, and there were a lot of them. The bass arrived double boxed and beautiful. Overall, I highly recommend ordering anything from Sweetwater over just about anybody else out there on the Internet. Sweetwater goes the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied. I'll definitely order from Sweetwater again.

This 4003S plays and sounds amazing! Very punchy and articulate and I love the push pull knob. I actually find myself using the vintage sound by pulling up on the knob, really like the tone, not quite as deep and very satisfying to the ear. Then you can push down on the knob and rattle the walls with a deep bass tone. If you're thinking about a 4003S you should definitely buy one, it's well worth it. The updated bridge is really awesome too. Each saddle has a little roller ball which allows you to move each bass string to the left or to the right so you can fine-tune where you want the strings to be on the front board. Great feature!

I received my new 4003S Jetglo Ric two weeks ago.... And I have to tell you it was actually in tune when I opened it - I am not even kidding!!!
Sweetwater had it to me in three days... It was packed as well as anything I have every received... The bass was setup and in "ready to play" condition - this can be said of "very" few music outfitters! Sad, but true!!! And my sound engineer, Matt Emick, is a gem... So knowledgeable and yet also down to earth... Long story short, this bass sounds, plays, and looks AMAZING... This is only the second Ric I"ve every owned and I may never play my P-Bass again!

Started playing again after almost 40 yrs, chose the 4003s over fender and gibson, finding my sound again is taking some time but love the feel and action of my" RIC" my equipment came un-flawed and in stellar condition. The people at sweetwater were great and the customer service was second to nun.

I have owned one of these for a while now and it is just outstanding. It has that Rickenbacker sound, Its got that Rickenbacker look. The S model is smoother on the edges and less flashy without the inlays . If there is anybody out there considering buying one of these i suggest you go for it

I purchased my 4003S and the first one needed to be returned. I was very concerned about making sure that I got the best RIC I could get and requested additional inspection of the replacement before shipment. The one I received as a replacement is top notch, beautiful, and basically perfect! Wow,This bass is everything I expected.Fit and finish are great.Little tuning and that was it.Have been wanting a Rick for years,well worth the money and also a great investment.Very pleased with this 4003s.Amazing sound.
I was told by my sales rep. that I would get a call to see if I received bass and to check make sure everything was good.I have left a message and no call.I had heard great things about their customer service but Im not impressed,just my experience.

I've been playing bass for 30+ years and have searched for a particular sound. I own Fenders and ESP basses and have owned Schecters, BC Rich and Epiphone basses active and passive. I purchased my Rickenbacker 4003s after much deliberation between it and both a USA fender Precision and Lakland Skyline. I chose the Ric, and Holy Smoke, it sounds beyond amazing through my present rig which has also been upgraded. The sound of each and every note is impeccable and I play everything from fast and heavy to smooth and slow. The quality of this baby is superior to anything I've seen. My wife said I was glowing when it was delivered and I first set eyes on it. Thank you Sweetwater and a BIG thanks to Kent Sallaz for all his work in making a long time dream come true. I can assure you I will have another.
