For Chicken Picken, These Are My Faves
I wish Fender still produced the white version of these. That was my mandolin pick of choice in the 70s. And it was Danny Gatton's choice for Tele shreddin. But the tortoise ones are still just really great. I'm up for trying any pick and have spent years and years playing anything and everything up to and including various flavors of Blue Chip picks. They are still my first choice for acoustic, but for Tele these little Fender heavy 358s are unbeatable in my book. I have yet to find another pick that is as fast and toneful. On electrics there really is something about celluloid picks. And they're cheaper than chips. Pennies per pick. Which is important because they wear pretty quick. But I have not found anything else my Telecasters like as well.
Fast& clean
Been using 358 Jazz picks for upwards of 49 yrs. Ongoing
Till today 9/6sun/2020. I needed to stock up so I called my man, Sweetwater Josh Katner and asked him if he had any in stock... he did and I ordered 6 gross .... that should get me throught a number of yesrs, possibly till I can mo longer play.
Tear drop shaped, allows clean speed picking, skimming off the strings with no drag... but you can dig in, and yet recover fast for the next attack....and when you wish a fuller rounder more mellow sound, I spin it around to the round side... very well designed plectrum... I canʻt use any other !
