Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS12 12-output Isolated Guitar Pedal Power Supply Reviews

Pedalboard Power Supply with 12 Outlets: 2 x 18V, 4 x 9V/12V, 4 x 9V, 1 x 9Vac, and 1 x 9V/variable 4V-9V

The Truetone 1 Spot Pro CS12 pedalboard power brick can power virtually any combination of guitar effects pedals you can imagine. And its 12 power outlets are fully isolated to minimize noise in your rig. Four outputs are switchable between 9-volt and 12-volt operation, and a very cool variable output (4 volts to 9 volts) gives you extra tonal control over certain pedals - more on that below. We've helped countless guitarists design pedalboards here at Sweetwater, and the Truetone 1 Spot Pro CS12 pedalboard power supply is exactly the kind of solution we recommend for flexibility and reliability.

Lasted 7 years

By Geoff W. from Roanoke, VA

I finally gave up on my CS9 today after once again trying to rearrange cables to find outputs that worked for my pedals. I had to send it back for a warranty repair a few years ago after it had fried a Strymon Dig and stopper working. It's out of warranty now, and each time I use it I have to see which outputs feel like working with what pedals today. Can't really justify buying a new one, as I assumed this was a lifetime investment.

What can I say that has not been said before!

By Cole from Ohio
Music Background: Guitar, bass, drums, live sound engineer , recording engineer

I was hesitant for a long time because my 1SPOT daisy chain was working problem free for a long time.

Then I decided to put together a board with 9 pedals which the daisy chain did power. The unfortunate side effect of some of my digital pedals started producing a constant high pitch noise that was barely noticeable but annoying.

I pulled the trigger and got the CS-12. I couldn't be happier. All my pedals have the power they need, and a completely quiet board with all the pedals off.

If you are hearing weird noise from your board with all your pedals off, do yourself a favor and upgrade. Even if you don't have 9 pedals to power (they make smaller power supplies with less outputs).

My only complaint is that it will not fit under my current board. Not the fault of the product so I no stars will be removed

Exactly what I was hoping for!

By Robert N. from Phoenix, AZ
Music Background: Beginner

Being a beginner with a limited budget for gear, I wanted to find a solid isolated power supply that would handle the few pedals I currently own, but could handle pedals that I may want to add later. I worked with Skyler to find a power supply that I could trust now and can grow with me in the future as needed. I also requested that I stay under $. He suggested the Truetone 1 Spot Pro CS12. After checking out the features, I was hopeful that I was on the right track. Now that I have it set up on my board, I couldn't be happier about the choice.

I don't know, maybe I just have a bad one...

By James C. from VACAVILLE, CA
Music Background: Hobby guitarist.

A lot of good reviews for this 1SPOT power supply, literally everywhere, and why I bought it. Mine has always been unacceptably noisy, from a constant Hum to pedal pops. Yeah, it works, but so what. I run mostly 7 Boss pedals with a Ditto Looper, and an occasional acoustic set-up and whah. I tried everything to fix the noise, from hum blockers, to changing out the chain cables, to trying to isolate which pedal is the problem. My Looper was the worst, always popped when in engaging. I tried a different looper. I finally broke down and bought another 'black magic' power supply that supplies at least 9v 500ma across everything. This 1SPOT supplies mostly 9v 100ma with a couple of 9v 200ma, even though the pedals are plugged into correct '9v 100Ma' power sockets, I don't think it is enough. My new 'Black Magic" PS was more money, but my noise is gone. I spent at least way more than $ on getting 'better' everything else but the PS supply. You want an amp with head room, you want your PS to have head room as well. Better to have more power than needed, than just making it.

Buy it & be done!

By vincent s. from Brick Township, NJ

Should've bought this a decade ago. How on Earth I ever used to un-box every pedal & use crappy daisy chains at every gig I have no idea. Was gonna get the VooDoo lab one but needed more power especially for the Whammy II & DL4. Also decided to 'go big or go home' w/ the 12 outputs. Would rather "have it & not need it etc etc"…
It is currently supplying power to a Morley Bad Horsie, Whammy II, Behringer Comp, Notaklon, Big Muff, MXR SmartGate & Line 6 Delay modeler. No noise either.

Versatile power supply - two small power cable issues

By Jeff R. from Cameron Park, CA

I bought this power supply for the AC jack as I have one pedal that requires 800mA AC. I have previously owned Voodoo Lab and Friedman power supplies. Overall the unit works great, but I had one power cable with arrived with no continuity. Also, for the EVH Flanger pedal, the cable that came with this unit would barely stay on the pin of the EVH pedal, and both products were bought new at the same time. I ended up using a leftover power cable from my Voodoo Lab power supply for the connection between the CS12 and the EVH pedal, and that now feels snug. It may be an anomaly between tolerances for those two companies, as the power cables felt snug enough on the other 7-8 pedals I connected to the CS12. I have to credit Truetone though, because I even though I only had one bad cable, they sent me an entire new bag of cables. I called Sweetwater to assist as well, and both companies offered to assist so that is commendable. As they say, the true test of a company is how they conduct themselves when there is a problem, and both Truetone and Sweetwater were favorably responsive.

Works Great! I Had A Minor Setback

By GuzelStride from Las Vegas, NV

This thing is super convenient for anyone who wants to get rid of their wall warts on their pedalboard. That was my goal with purchasing this device. My secondary goal was to lower noise levels. My old 1Spot served me well for many years, but the underside of my board was a mess.

It's pretty straightforward if you have any knowledge of electricity and power. The dip-switches are great if you have any old boss pedals. One thing I overlooked is there are TWO 18v plugs. I only needed one so I had to wave bye-bye to my chorus pedal, which barely ever got used anyways. That was my fault so I'll own it.

The only setback I had was installing the power supply to my PedalTrain. The manual states you don't need to pre-drill holes if using an electric screwdriver. I used a drill. I was able to get two screws just barely started, but the other two would not budge. I ended up making pilot holes for all four and that made things easy. Don't chance it, just drill pilot holes. It's no easy feat unless you have a very long bit. It's awkward trying to drill holes/screws in with the power supply in place.

At the end of the day, I got it installed straight and centered. I'm a big fan of the saying RTFM (read the fun-time manual), but in this case I should've went with my gut. Always make pilot holes!

I double-checked that all my pedals were receiving the correct voltage and using the correct ports based on amperage and everything worked great the first time. My pedal board is so clean underneath now that I don't have a daisy chain PSU :').

Sidenote-I got some EBS patch cables to use with this upgrade and WOW. I'll never build a board without 'em.

10/5 STARS!!

By Talon D.

I got one of these for my birthday right in time on the day of one of my shows, so I was so excited to use it at the show! I got it all hooked up and ready to go, and it played great! Well, we got to the show and as we were playing and sound checking, I had an extremely annoying buzzing that I could not stop. I tried it more at home after the show and it would keep making that noise off and on.

A few days later, I called Sweetwater to see if they could help me trouble shoot. I explained to them the problem and they basically told me that the power supply was bad and they'd send me a replacement. Just a day or two later, I got the new one, plugged it in and set it up, played with it for a while, and no buzzing whatsoever, WAYYYY better than my daisy chain!

It is a slightly more expensive power supply but I HIGHLY recommend you get it and get the high quality out of it, and don't just go with a cheap little daisy chain. Also, HUGE shoutout to Hunter for helping me troubleshoot !

I didn't realize it was the best

By Patrick T. from Franklin, CT

Until I started to mount and connect it with pedaltrain (another #1), and saw how easy it was to install, and reconfigure. Great price for an isolated power supply, for those who have no idea what that means, or why it matters.

Super nice build quality, from the chassis to the plugs, with all labeling well thought out. DIP switches allow for powering choices that I didn't need... yet. I have a few pedalboards (all PedalTrain), and all my PS's are 1SPOT. I can't imagine how there are better devices out there...

Practically perfect!

By Marty N. from Wylie, TX

Great power supply for a fair price. Mounting on a Pedaltrain Novo 18 was easy, but did require using a temporary spacer under (over) it to get the right spacing for the power chord. If you're a neatness nerd and it's important that the underside of your board looks perfect, the bracket doesn't sit perfectly flat after mounting. They could have changed up the bracket slightly to allow the tabs to bend where they'd need to.

I don't need the two 18v ports or the one AC port, so I only have 9 9v ports in use. This is still 2 more than that other power supply that we all have been using, so I'm ok with it.

CLEAN POWER IS ESSENTIAL

By Bill

I've been using an off brand "isolated" power supply for my pedal board for 10 or 15 years. When some of the outputs failed I got the 1Spot. I set up my board so that distortions that were not likely to be used simultaneously were daisy chained. Most of them draw less than 10 mA so there's no danger of underpowering a pedal. I have several pedals that require 500 mA, so the higher rated outputs are very useful.
The first thing I noticed when I'd done with the connections and turned it on was that everything sounded better. It was cleaner and had more headroom. It was like I'd had a blanket over my speakers for years and now it was gone. If you've got any misgivings about the quality of your power supply, I recommend investing in one of the better pedal board power supplies. The 1Spot did the trick for me.

Pedalboard Formally Known as Suck

By C-pup from Florida
Music Background: Studio musician

Why did I keep putting off buying the CS12 power supply? Don't answer that's a rhetorical question. I kept putting off buying a good power supply, instead I would buy another drive pedal. But, I finally came to my senses and this thing has 100% improved my pedalboard's performance and reliability. Truetone has out did their self. They have thought of every scenario your pedalboard could need. Do yourself a favor and don't suck. Buy this pedal power supply.

Wicked Upgrade!

By Willy K. from Bucksport, ME
Music Background: Gigging since the '70's with a Masters degree in Music Ed. and too much fun...

I didn't realize what an improvement over the daisy chain / wall-wart power this would make in the sound of my pedalboard! No complaints about the past system but the CS-12 really supports the bigger Strymon pedals (The Lex and Iridium so far, thank you, Sweetwater!). Using the 18v output on my old Fulltone OCD makes it a whole new pedal! The CS12 power fits nicely under my Pedaltrain Classic Jr. and it went together with a minimum of fuss.

A shout-out to Sweetwater, they're awesome! (Thank you David Winkert...)

Perfect for my large pedalboard

By Sweetwater Customer

The CS12 opened up options with my pedalboard. I love the two 18v output jacks, and the 4-9v is fun to play around with on fuzz pedals. Other jacks allow you to choose between 12v or 9v depending on the pedal. I will advise to know the current and voltage requirements for your pedals, there is an AC jack for example that I don't use. But with a daisy chain I'm able to connect some analog pedals, and am powering all 17 pedals on my board with this.

Solid product

By Joe G. from MI
Music Background: playing solid and daily for 2 years. starting to sound like a player

I can't compare this product against anything else other than those daisy chain things as I am a newer player and building my first board. I have expensive pedals..... why compromise the potential with a crappy link in the chain. Everything sounds great with this supply. Tons of cording options. Lucy's follow up and customer service are to be cloned and produced for all companies. Sweetwater, don't let that one get away!

Should have bought this years ago. It's so quiet now!!

By James T. from Mc Calla, AL

I have been using an old pedalboard supply that I have had for many years. Like 25. Probably one of the first of its kind. Limited on what it can drive. I think maybe 500mw total. Not isolated, so some things create noise when attempting to connect them to it. Worked ok for basic analog pedals, but my wireless was mega noisy, and the Vocalist had to have a wall wart in order to even power it. I fought this for years by shoving extension cords and wall warts under the board top level. Messy. Hated it every time I had to service something. This board is made out of a piece of plywood that used to be one of my kitchen cabinets! Haha! I had some issues with the board lately, and you guys know like I do, sometimes it's time for a teardown and redo. Well, I was fed up with these wall warts all under the board, so I started shopping. Most inexpensive ones won't run that Vocalist and the ME-20 was noisy on my old one, so I went with the nuclear option here. When I received it, I was impressed with all the connectors available and the quality of the unit. It neatly hides under the upper tier of the board too. When I flipped the switch on? I'd never heard this thing this quiet! Like...ever. In the past, even with the isolated warts, I was still apparently picking up some noise from the adjacent warts and AC electrical connections. The ONLY thing I could hear now without playing was the hiss from my bass' preamp. Holy toldeo. I had no idea how noisy my stuff actually was till I installed this. It also powers the entire board with ease, including the Vocalist and does it quietly. No more wall warts period, just a standard IEC connector which eliminates several points of failure. That's it. ONE power connection. There's enough outlets and juice to run a secondary board for those gigs where I need my looper as well. It's not cheap, but it definitely will improve your tone, and if you ask me, totally worth the scratch. If you can get by with less outlets, there is a model below this one that might work for you as well. I liked that I could power my wireless of 12v, although it can run off 9 as well. Having the AC 9V is nice too. I have a few things that I could use this on, and it's nice to have the flexibility even though I may never use it, or the 18V outlets.

I'll also point out that this will absolutely streamline your setup. I have a soundcraft digital mixer (no physical controls) in a rack, along with a TC BAM200 micro amp on a rack inside of it that's always connected to the mixer, and always powered up when the rack is. At the gig, I simply run a cord from my board to the amp, plug up the speaker, plug this supply in, plug in and turn on my wireless, and my rig is ready to play. Just like that. Work smart. Not hard. This also declutters the board significantly which is a big plus and makes a troubleshooting issue EASY. It always looked like (and was) a clusterf with all the warts shoved everywhere and a failure point at a gig could take minutes to find that sometimes you don't have.

A must buy if you use pedals and don't like noise or cable mess. I was skeptical. Not anymore!

Great power supply, one complaint

By Sam from Minneapolis
Music Background: 30+ years

Been using the CS12 for a couple years now with zero issues performance-wise. My only complaint is the 9v AC 800m out. Pedals that use this are rare, and I've looked everywhere and it doesn't look like Trutone (or anyone else) makes a DC converter. It would be nice if they did, or made it it switchable on the unit itself. For a power supply this size that costs this much, it's disappointing to have an unusable out. That said, this unit is exceptional in every other regard and the issue will never come up if you don't exceed 11 pedals.

By Garrett C. from Santa Clarita
Music Background: Artist/producer/pain in the butt

This product is exactly what you want from power supply, set it up once and never think about it until you change the set up. Works perfectly and fits perfectly. However, beware there are not 12 9v dc outlets. There are 2 18v dc and a weird ac outlet. If you have 18v pedals than great but if you are looking to power 12 pedals that are all 9v this is not your best option.

Good but…

By Dustin from WA State
Music Background: I play guitar sometimes all the time

Works great does what I need but… the mounts that come with it are made for the pedal train so if you build your own order it first and keep that in mind or else you'll have to Jimmy rig something or put it on top - and it's pretty big. Bigger than I thought but that's not a bad thing by any means. Also the vents are on the side so it made mounting it that much more of a challenge but it's all good in the end.

Heavy, But Worth It

By Robert W. from DENVER, CO

Truth in Advertising!

By Paul R. from Tallahassee, FL

As a tiiiiiny bit of a cynic, I've always had problems with blurbs about what products are capable of. Electronics and detergents... I'm looking at you! And so, after much back & forth I decided to take the plunge on the CS12.

I have a single, wall-wart power supply by a famous company, but the pedals I got for Xmas all had the same hiss sound when I used it. And since I've been almost purely dependent on digital multi-fx since the days of the DigiTech GSP-5, I pretty uncomfortable with my lack of knowledge where your actual single pedals are concerned.

And so, it came as quite the surprise when the CS12 actually performed as advertised! I plugged in my extremely cheap, and not particularly cheerfully looking "Crazy Tone" pedal and an equally questionable, cheap Les Paul copy. The hissing was gone... like... completely! I even contacted Truetone through Facebook and thanked them!

Maybe there's hope for humanity after all :D :P

By Tim from VA
Music Background: 20 year guitar player

This is the best isolated power supply to power a medium to large size pedalboard. I have 8 pedals (for now) and this powers all of them with slots to spare for future expansion. With it being isolated there is no additional sound coming from the power supply.

The Best Brick a Baby Bass Board can Bear!

By John P. from Denver, Colorado
Music Background: Your mother's wedding and your sister's quinceanera

So I had a regular little One Spot daisychain unit running power to my bass pedals on a makeshift server-shelf-pedalboard, but once I added the envelope filter, it was one too many for the noise threshold, apparently, and the POG was bleeding through the whole signal. I had this little 20" x 8" three-rail entry-level pedalboard setup I had grabbed on sale somewhere, and I decided to hot-rod it way beyond its intended use case. There was no room underneath the slightly-tilted chassis, so I just got me a One Spot Pro and mounted it on top, through the magic of Dual-Lock.
This completely solved the noise issue and also gave me expansion options to power a looper or something off to the side, should I need it. It's overkill, but it's fabulous overkill which doesn't weigh down the board as much as you'd think. I love the positioning of the modular power cord jack, making the entire board a lot more utilitarian for quick stage setups.

works great, wish I had read specs a little better though

By Isaiah B. from Georgetown, DE

it's great but let me down in my first use and it's 100% my fault. I just assumed since there was 2 500ma slots and some 250's that it would have more than 800ma max power output. My ebs micro 3 sucked that all dry and started cutting in and out because there wasn't enough left for the other pedals. Once I removed the ebs from the chain it worked flawless. I wish it had the power as the onespot with just cables as that puts out 1700ma

By Radosti from NJ
Music Background: Musician, singer, songrwriter, and so on...

Clean power for all my pedals. This unit nails that basic requirement and does so at a great price. It just eats at me that I could use two more standard 9V ports and instead, I am faced with an 18V DC port and an AC port that I have no current use for. When I lift up my pedalboard, the extreme left and right ports just point and laugh at me. I miss the good ole 1spot daisy chain days when I was oblivious to the peril of unclean power. That was a simpler time.

1 SPOT PRO CS12 Power Supply - Works, not sure if it resolved the noise issue.

By Dan F. from Dallas, TX
Music Background: Intermediate to advanced. Play mainly electric guitar in church band.

I bought this to resolve the 60 Hz hum/noise issue that I was having with my pedalboard. I have (8) pedals, including 2 OD's, and Fuzz pedal. I rarely use the Fuzz, however I do use 1-2 OD pedals on for church band. I had major hum in Positions 1,3,5 on my Strat. Positions 2, 4 lessened the him but it was still there. I had been daisy chaining the power and knew that this is not the best way so I splurged for this nice supply. It did lessen the noise, however I still have some noise, especially if I have much gain on from pedals or amp. I may try adding a basic inexpensive noise gate. However this product works well and is built very sturdily.

I put off buying the CS12 for over a year. After all, what joy is there in buying a relatively expensive thing that doesn't make sound? But after installing it to replace a daisy chain power setup, what a difference it made! Having the x2 18VDC outputs was great for my OCD and headphone amp and the other nine 9VDC outputs give me more than enough current for the other pedals with a lot of capacity left over for future expansion. The included brackets are for Pedal Train boards. My board is from On Stage and you see how one of the the brackets matched up perfectly on the center support. For the other side, I had to use standard hardware store L brackets drilled to match the smaller holes on the CS12. End result was very sturdy.

Great Value - Great Performance!

By Brian B. from MI

I was excited to learn of the Trutone CS12 pedal power supply from Alan, my sales rep at Sweetwater! I studied a host of pedal power supplies for my new board, and have found that the Trutone CS12 has an incredible amount of flexibility and individually isolated power for a great number of pedals. There's really nothing else with all of these features without a significant jump in price point. The CS12 has dramatically reduced the noise and tone loss present in my former board configuration, which had a much older power supply that was not adequately isolated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for anyone putting together a new, or reconfigured pedalboard!

1 Spot versatile power supply

By Sweetwater Customer

You can hook up just about any pedal to the unit. I had no trouble with that. I still gave it a 5 even though the instructions said no 'pre-drilling' was needed for the support brackets. Well, you need to! No problem if you can handle drilling 4 holes! LOL!
I think this is the best power supply out there as I've had a few others in the past. HIGHLY recommended!!

Truetone 1SPOT

By Michael V. from Logan, IA
Music Background: Professional Musician, 11 years, retired

After long years of multiple power supplies and their accompanying tangle of chords, I decided to try this one, and I'm sure glad I did. I liked the first one so much that I turned around and bought another one just like it. I have a lot of pedals, and I still have outlets for the next pedals that I absolutely must have! The features are top-notch. The case is a brick, impervious to just about anything. The power inputs are very sturdy, and it cools efficiently. To top that, this unit is extremely flexible, accommodating pedals with a wide variety of voltages. I mounted mine beneath the top rails of my Pedal Train and it really worked out perfectly. Of course, you can use it as a stand-alone instead of mounting. Your set-up time will be dramatically reduced. So much for your case full of individual power supplies and tangled cords! I love mine. If you're contemplating one of these, just go for it!

Game Changer

By Reed from CA
Music Background: Former working musician. Now a private tone idealist.

I purchased the 1 Spot Pro CS12 to replace an ad hoc daisy chain power system for my home studio guitar pedals which were uncontrollably noisy. This helped me to determine and then remove existing pedals which were inherently noisy and pare down a bit to independently power my important pedals. I am currently daisy chaining my 3 MXR modulation pedals into the 1 Spot to allow for space saving on the unit. This has been an important and needed upgrade and the unit was shipped to me in good time and was well packaged for travel by Sweetwater. Thanks again!

Great Case!

By Michael L. from Logan, IA 51546
Music Background: Former working musician

This one is your power solution. It works exactly as designed, and that was a real plus. I have 2 and mounted them both on the bottom of my Pedaltrain. It tucks in nicely and it feels pretty secure. If you're tired of many cords and power supplies, buy this with confience. For me, it used to be multiple six-ways and a lot of cussing; this ended that problem and left a lot on the board. Who wants to worry about that? I tried it, I love it, and I recommend it.

Fantastic Power Supply!

By Wade from Springdale, AR
Music Background: Experimental Musical Scientist

I started with a 1Spot with less inputs and due to the mini-pedal fad, I had plenty of real estate on my board for more pedals! Good problem to have! I ended up being short 2 power inputs and strung the remainders up with a daisy chain. I thought THIS IS STUPID and IRRESPONSIBLE... The Gods of Rock were shaking their calloused fingers my direction...
I decided to upgrade to the CS12 model and everything has it's own power and everyone is happy! I love both of my 1Spots. The smaller one I started with is now on my secondary "experimental" board.

I couldn't be happier with this product and a big shout-out to Jordan, my guy!

Plenty of power and many options!

By Brent S.
Music Background: Musician x 35+ years

I was worried all my plethora of pedals would consume too much overall from any boxes. But the cs12 not only fully supplies them all, it also has many options such as sag,18v, 100-500 ma, and more to aid in correctly powering your devices! I upgraded from my Voodoo labs power plus 2 (which is great also) due to my bigger board and could not be happier with my Truetone! Also a big thank you to Paul Lea (my sweetwater rep)for always guiding and taking time to make my purchases the correct ones.

An excellent power supply.

By David W.

This is a great power supply for the money. Definitely less expensive than other options with this many outputs. You do have to be aware that there are only 9 9v DC options. If you have a couple pedals that can run on 18v then you have 11 slots and if you have something that runs on AC power than this is great for you. I will probably never use the AC slot so this is basically 11 slots for me, but for the money I couldn't find anything else that could give me clean power for that many pedals.

Excellent Power Supply!

By John from Texas
Music Background: I learned from blind musicians that hearing, not just listening, is my most important tool.

The Truetone CS-12, along with the BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor pedal, now has my rig studio quality quiet!!

With the daisy chains gone, the ONLY noise left was signal noise generated by the gain pedals. My signal goes from the tuner into the NS-2 Input jack. Then the signal goes from the NS-2 Send jack to all the gain pedals stacked inline. From the Output jack of the last gain pedal the signal goes back to the NS-2 Return jack. The NS-2 Output jack then routes the signal to the rest of my pedals. I could, and have in the past, run the entire board and even the amp's preamp stage through the BOSS NS-2, if needed. The gain pedals (including compressor) are the noise culprits, so that's all I'm concerned with now. So, if some noise is still an issue, I recommend adding the BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor, or a noise gate pedal that includes Send and Return jacks.

The 1 Spot Pro gets the job done !

By DaVE from Texas Gulf Coast
Music Background: Full time professional musician

I got the GigRig 2 system to replace an RJM set up three years ago. The GigGig G2 switcher it's self is fantastic ! All the hype is true. However, those extra power gadgets such at the EvenFlo ( for H9 etc) , Doubler ( 18volt adaptor) fell a bit short in performance and actually caused some noise issues.
So, after a bit of research , I decided to try the 1 SPOT PRO CS12 . That and a few other DIY cables ( Watch The Vertex Rig Dr. on YouTube)
This has fixed "ALL" my power and noise issues ! If you need to power your pedal board, do not hesitate to buy the 1 SPOT PRO !

Wow what a difference!

By Sean K. from OFallon, MO

First impression was this thing is built like a brick. Solid, Heavy, like a power supply is supposed to be. Hooked up one pedal at a time, waited on the noise to start, it never came. 8 pedals total so far. Even the 70's Ross Phaser quieted down. Smoothed out the distortion if that makes sense. Really makes a Difference , I'd wager many people get rid of pedals and don't realize its the power supply thats effecting the sound adversely. An inadequate power supply will not let pedal's come up to their full potential is what I learned with this one purchase. Can't recommend it enough.

I powered 10 pedals with this unit and it works great. I haven't tested it live yet but I'm sure it will hold up well. Nice unit!

Truetone 1 Spot Pro CS12

By Richard from Sacramento

You get the power supply unit and an ample sufficiency of patch cords for your pedals. The unit does exactly what it is supposed to do—not much to say about that, and all of the patch cords are functional, contrary to what someone else posted. You gotta like the five-year warranty!

You also get a bracket for mounting the power supply to a Pedaltrain board. We need to talk about that. First, read the instructions for mounting the bracket! Then read them again. The information in the instructions will help you place the power unit exactly where it needs to go on the board. You need an electric drill with a Philips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers to mount the brackets to the board. I can't imagine doing it with hand tools. If you don't have the tools, and/or don't have the skills to use them, find someone who does. Everybody has a handy friend. The bracket uses self-tapping screws (the screws create their own holes), which means that you need to place the bracket where it needs to be and mark the spots where the screws need to go with a soft pencil. Without the bracket in place, place the screw in its spot, then use the drill on high speed gently to spin the screw and let it heat up and soften the aluminum pedal board for a few seconds before applying pressure to start driving the screws. I suggest going in about half way without the bracket in place, pulling the screw back out, putting the bracket in place, and then carefully screwing it in—stopping when it is secure. You may want to finish screwing it in with a hand screwdriver as you are working with an aluminum pedal board and if you try to tighten the screw too much with a drill you can easily strip the screw hole. You may need to bend one end of the bracket a bit with pliers to make it fit flush with the pedal board. Once you have the power unit in place in the installed brackets, there are screws that secure the sides of the power unit to the bracket.
If you f*ck it up on the first try, just move things over a little and try again. Your old screw holes won't show. It took me about a half hour to do this, and I work slowly and methodically as I like to get it right on the first try. What do you get from this labor? I got the exact power unit that I wanted, perfectly fitting the exact pedal board that I wanted. Not bad!

Good power supply but didn't quite fix my problems

By Sweetwater Customer

I like that Truetone is very upfront about the flexibility you can enjoy using the outputs on this supply. The labeled max current for each port doesn't really matter as long as the total current is within limits. The supply also mounted neatly under my pedal board with the included brackets, also a plus. For the total amount of current this supply can deliver, the price is very competitive.

Now, I was disappointed that it did not solve a couple of issues I had. One, my entire setup, from guitar, to pedals, to amp sim, to mixer, to headphones is not earth grounded and hums accordingly. Two, I have a few noisy pedals (sometimes what I would call "digital" noise and sometimes more just background hum/hiss). Even though this power supply does have a grounded plug and the chassis is at earth ground potential, it does not earth ground anything connected to it with the included cables. I had to run a wire from the case of the supply to the metal case of one of the pedals and that takes care of the primary hum. With regard to some noisy pedals, well, I found out that it wasn't a power issue at all. While some daisy chain power supplies made the pedals even noisier, the new power supply didn't completely squelch the noise. I guess those pedals are just noisy. While neither of these things is Truetone's fault, I was disappointed.

Just what you need for a quiet signal chain

By Big M. from Georgia
Music Background: Blues, Rock and Metal. Not necessarily in that order.

Per advice from Ryan Wiltermood (Big thanks Ryan!) who helped me make the decision between this unit and another more expensive competitor, I finally built the pedal board that I should have years ago.

I run plenty of Boss, Wampler, JHS, Empress and Fulltone pedals. For years, I had them daisy-chained off of my trusty old Boss TU-2. I think that because I had run my pedals this way for around 20 years, unless a pedal needed 12v or 18v, I was fine to chain 'em up.

I've had the board rigged up for a couple of days (see photo) and I didn't realize how much planning would have to go into getting as much of the collection onto the board with their positioning (based on frequency of use) and to get the cabling run logically (as a former server engineer, I hate sloppy wiring). Luckily, Truetone gives you a great selection of power cables with the CS12.

After a couple different wiring jobs, now all the pedals get the nice isolated power that they need. The only exception to this statement is my Empress SuperDelay which needs 12v/300ma and therefore, continues to use its stock power supply. One cool thing is that if you run old Boss pedals from the 80's (HM-2, CE-2) which were built before the PSA adapters were mandated, all you have to do on the CS12 is use one of the 9v/12v(switchable, 100ma) and flip the dip switch to select the 12v/100ma power. It added a lot of headroom to my old HM-2 and Wampler Dracarys as well as my Wampler Ego Compressor (which can handle 18v and now runs on it).

I think the real surprise over all is how quiet the signal chain is now as well as how pedals (that can handle 12v/18v) now have the effect of more headroom. Its safe to say that I don't have any complaints whatsoever.

By Paul from N of Dallas TX

I was going to get a couple Friedman bricks and they were out of stock, got two of these CS12's and really a better choice. I was able to power 3 18v and a coupel 500mA 9V's eliminating the warts I had to use because the VoodooLab's could not feed them. Anyway, quiet, works great, I run a large board with two of these and quite happy with them. Thankfully True Tone has developed away from that daisy chain nonsense, this unit competes with the best bricks available with a hell of a price break. Big recommend from a large board pedal user.

By Eric O. from VA, USA
Music Background: 45+ years of tone chasing

I have built boards for years and have always been a Voodoo user. Building a new board I needed two of these. The best power supply decision I have ever made. Super clean, options I need in terms of regulating voltage to certain pedals and cheaper than the top of the line competition.

You cannot go wrong with this power supply and if your building a decent sized board buy two!

Nothing I wanted was in stock, glad I got this!

By D P. from South Jersey
Music Background: Home Recording

I was looking at two highly rated and recommended power supplies and both were out of stock. I was using the Truetone 1 spot combo which gave me huge amounts of noise. Instead of waiting for the others to be back in stock, I thought I'd try this.
First off, you get a ton of options for hooking up your pedals, they give you a ton of options.
When I hooked everything up for the first time I was amazed at how silent everything was! No more noise coming through my amp, and it mounted perfectly under my Pedaltrain pedalboard.
I don't gig and probably will never take my pedalboard out of the house, so this supply is a huge win for me at $80 less than what I was looking at.
If you are in the market for a power supply, don't hesitate to buy this one. I highly recommend it!

Great Clean Power for Your Pedalboard.

By Bill from Charlotte, NC
Music Background: Home Studio and 50+ year guitar and bass player.

I upgraded from using two of the small 1 Spot wall wart type of pedal power units. They had worked well for me, but the CS-12 allows me to have a cleaner looking pedalboard. It's absolutely dead quiet and a nice sonic improvement. The unit seems rugged and well made. My pedals are happy!

Highly recommended

By K. B.

I bought this unit from Sweetwater and could not be happier with my purchase. It arrived at my door in 3 days. I have exclusively used this power supply for about 5 years in my #1 touring rig with absolute rock solid performance. It replaced my "brick" unit because I discovered that it caused 60 cycle hum, phantom RF noise and pedal interaction depending on the room I was playing. After I swapped in the True-tone my problems were solved. It's been 100% dependable and provides me with more than enough current and power options to run a wide variety of pedals. If you're serious about your guitar sound quality do not make the same mistake I did by trying to cut corners with your power supply.

Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS12 12-output Isolated Guitar Pedal Power Supply

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Constant Student of Limitless Music

I wanted something to build on, and the 1SPOT PRO has done the trick. I consulted with my sales engineer, Mark Bruhn. Thanks, Mark, for answering all my questions and leading me in the right direction. Mark is a great sales engineer whose impressive bio speaks for itself.

Now, about the power supply. I opted for the Pro because I wanted something to build on and because I was tired of wall-warts. I don't have that many pedals yet, but it's a relief to have a supply to plug directly into. I've had no problem with it. It's quiet, built heavy and sturdy, and I expect it will last longer than I do.

If you're hesitating on this, don't. It's a great buy.

Truly a Great Power Supply

I've had a CS12 for over 2 years now and it has never done anything but what it's supposed to. The only time I think of it is when I change pedals out on my pedal board and need to plug the new ones in. It just sits there inside my board providing clean noise free power. This is one of the best investments you can make for your pedal board! I highly recommend the CS12!!!

Loved the price. Has plenty of outlets with plenty of milliamps. Is a little heavy since my goal was to lighten my board I would call that a negative. Didn't like the fact that it's made in China. But that's my fault for not doing more research. Had I known that I may have looked elsewhere. Bob Weil's you tube sold me on it and I guess since his company is in the nashville area I just figured it was a USA product. Be advised it is not. Still it does the job.

Clear Tone & Cleared of Needless Wires!

By Jon from Texas
Music Background: Guitarist for 54 years. Teacher, player and worship band.

Once upon a time a good friend encouraged me to dump my amp and pedals to go with a popular floor multi-effects/modeling unit. It didn't take long to see I'm not a person in love with programming or being more dependent on a computer. I went back to pedals (and two amps), but with a crippled budget so I could only afford a 1 Spot Slim and a daisy chain. Two of my pedals were not compatible with the basic 1 Spot, so I had three power sources to plug in and a lot of wire going to eight pedals. The PRO CS12 cleared all the nonsense away AND gave me the best sound I've heard out of all my pedals. My Tumnus and Dyno My Roto are more responsive. There is zero unwanted noise from anything. It was a breeze to attach to my Pedal Train board. One tip: Drill with a small bit first, then go to the recommended size, That will keep you from having the bit slip.

Versatile and Functional

By Alex

The CS12 has a wide array of output options, meaning that you can easily accommodate a more standard pedal chain, as well as one with more niche power options (ie. Fulltone 18v pedals). The minimum power output is 100mA, which is often enough to cover most pedals outside of advanced modulation units like the ones made by Strymon, and the CS12 has them covered as well, the highest output being 500mA. Aaron Hoff was, as always, able to answer every question I had pertaining to this power block and then some, and the block actually arrived a day after placing the order. Thank you Aaron, Sweetwater, and Truetone for the great service!

Best Power Supply. PERIOD.

By Steven A. from VT
Music Background: Semi Professional

I started my board build with a one spot. Worked great, but as my board grew, i wanted a dedicated brick to power it all. I got a cheap unit off of amazon that worked for a bit. I have been eyeing this supply for some time now. Finally pulled the trigger. Best decision yet. Not only does it power my pedals, but also my ES-8! I went from needed a power brick AND a power strip to provide juice to my wall wart powered pedals, to one clean unit under the board. I love that it has a voltage drop (Sag for you VooDoo Lab users) control for one of the 9v outlets. Makes me want to get another DS-1 to chase that Kobain tone from Nevermind. Great purchase, great product, can't go wrong!

Great product

By Dan from Hatboro pa
Music Background: 20 plus years in bands. Now a bedroom rockstar

I"ve used the 1spot single adapters and daisy chained my pedals for years. I got the pedal bug and now have some expensive (by my standards) pedals. I got this to provide some of my new pedals with the proper voltage as some are 18v. This package comes with everything you would need at a very reasonable price. All the different length cords and limitless power options make this thing a steal. Didn"t really need 12 outputs but as I become more interested in different pedals it gives me plenty of options in the future. I still get a little hum through my rig but I blame that on the fact that I have 2 ac units and dehumidifier in my little apartment. If you are looking for a power brick, pick up one of these. It"s a no brainer. And buy it from Sweetwater because they are the best.

I love the Truetone One Spot Pro power supply. Going to this from the Voodoo 2 Power Plus eliminated some hum, powered all 10 of my effects and the versatility with the dip switches and the cords that came with it are excellent. It really made a positive difference in my sound. It was easy to mount on my Pedaltrain Novo 18 and I can't think of any way to improve it.

This is a solid unit. I started with a PB that included power, to a board from Trailer Trash that had a voodoolabs pp2 built in, to a helix, to a pedalboard, to ax8, to a pedalboard, to a helix, bla bla bla, years of money and shame later I have again built a board and decided to go with this unit. Cheaper and is a solid unit. Super clean and more power than I need (for now...)

I should have bought this from the start

By Odubb from Colorado Springs, CO

I initially had the CS7 version--but I have pedal fever and should have gone for the CS12 from the get go. This is a superb value, is well constructed, works quietly, and is rock solid. I attached it easily to my Pedaltrain Novo 24 with zero issues. I highly recommend this power supply, or it's little brother, the CS7. They are both stellar products. But get the CS12 if you're contemplating between the two--you'll end up saving in the long run.

There are only a handful of power supplies that can approach the CS12's versatility and power handling capabilities (Strymon and Cioks come to mind), but they're pricier and don't sport some of the unique features of the CS12 (1 outlet with variable voltage and 1 with AC option.)

QUIET!!

By Barry from Illinois
Music Background: hobbyist

This thing is awesome!!! I play at a church and when I added an additional bass pedal to my cheap One Spot daisy chain I started getting some serious noise in my signal. I had tried just about everything I could think of before spending a big chump of money on a power supply (I mean who really wants to spend money on a power supply when you could spend it on other fun gear?). Well, when none of those worked I called my Rep. Dennis Konicki and asked him what power supply he recommended. This is what he suggested so I pulled the trigger on it. I tried it for the first time this weekend and my signal was crystal clear. No buzz, hum, etc..... just great tone. This is overkill for what I needed as I only have 5 total pedals but this way I can expand if needed. I am beyond happy with this power supply. Thank you Truetone for a great product and thank you, Dennis, for all your help. If anyone is looking for a great rep. do not hesitate to give him a call at extension #1356.

Bought this power supply to replace a popular eight outlet isolated power unit which I have. Not necessarily superior to that unit, just has more flexibility. Plus I like the idea of having two high amperage output ports, to run the hungrier panels. I will never use the AC output that it has, and for me, it would have been more useful to have a 12th DC outlet, or be able to switch between AC and DC on the same output. Additionally, according to the company line, as long as you don"t exceed the total amperage draw from the unit, each individual power jack can handle more than it"s stated amperage.
Overall, very happy with the unit. The dimensions fit perfectly under my board, as it is not any wider than the Voodoo Labs, just longer. Plus, the price is right.

Couldn’t Be Happier!

By Marty E. from Southern Missouri
Music Background: Semi-Pro Gigging Musician

I recently upgraded my pedalboard from a Pedaltrain Metro 16 to a Classic Jr. I thought it was a good time to buy an isolated power supply. On the recommendation of my man, Marshall Oliver, I bought the 1 Spot Pro CS12. I love the flexibility of this power supply. I don"t think there is a pedal made that this thing can"t power! My pedals sound quieter than ever. I couldn"t be more pleased!

So Worth it!

By Sweetwater Customer from Michigan
Music Background: Song Re-Writer and Basement Poet

Wow. Besides the convenience, this absolutely cleaned up my sound. Nothing but silence and what my guitar is supposed to sound like through my pedals. I had some issues powering my Whirlwind Perfect 10, but I have not ruled out "user error" with that yet, and it is nonetheless, still amazing.

Rube Goldberg board actually cleans up pretty good!

By Michael from Indianapolis
Music Background: Guitar playing old fart who still likes it loud!

My pedal board is a piece of 3/4" ply with a collage of stuff from TC Electronics, Keeley, Wampler and Catalinbread and a homebrew delay/phase/envelope follower all zip-tied down so nothing escapes. Originally, I used two TrueTone OneSpot Power supplies to run the whole thing. Calling it a rat"s nest is unkind to rats.
I bought one of the TrueTone CS12 supplies to get my Wampler pedals up to 18vdc and clean up the rat"s nest.
The collage is now a quieter collage; the Wampler pedals have more breathing space AND I have power for more toys! Some day I"ll grow up and get a real pedal board, but I"m keeping the CS12!

Pedalboard Must Have

Ditch the daisy chain. Ditch the weak power supply. Get yourself a 1 Spot Pro CS12. This thing is awesome! It's so much better than the power supply I was using. Solid mounting, plenty of cables and plenty of power and versatility. My brother (a fellow Sweetwater customer) suggested the 1 Spot and my sales engineer, Matt Zuleger, confirmed it - get the 1Spot!

Excellent!

I purchased this power supply after my MXR DC brick grenaded. I run a large, full board with demanding pedals and this power supply works excellently. It also comes with brackets to mount the power supply under a power train board. Cleaner tone than with other supplies I have used. I Couldn"t be happier with my purchase.

Great custom care

By Confrex from Houston

When I first got into pedalboards I was so lost, I must have emailed Truetone a billion times asking for advice and they have always been caring. They answered all my question no matter how tedious and really help me understand pedal-to-power relations. I now own two CS12, a m/A reader, two CS7 and two 1-spot. This is a great company that really treats you well and make awesome products.

Nothing But Beautiful Tone

By SlowHandFan from Huntington, NY

The difference before using isolated outputs and after using isolated outputs is real simple -
Before - tone, hum, white noise, backbround noise, noise from transmissions to and from other planets, etc.
After - Tone, tone and beautiful Tone, and the ability to change output wattage. What more could you ask for?

Great Product - Eliminated All Electrical Noise

By Andy
Music Background: Amateur Guitar/Bass

I rarely review any product, but this little thing is worth mentioning. I had a very nice pedalboard with a built-in power supply, but it created a ton of noise through my eight pedals (including wah). Most are 9v, a couple are 18v, and they are of various brands and models. I hooked them up directly to this 1 SPOT and all the hum, noise and interference was COMPLETELY gone. The sound is perfectly clear and clean. I had read all the positive reviews on Sweetwater and decided to try it, and I'm glad I did. Thank you Truetone for a great product.

Truetone CS12 is bigger than I thought

By Andrew T. from SWANTON, VT
Music Background: Multi-Instrumentalist with 30+ years

I picked one of these up because of all of the options this one has. Specifically, the AC 800ma option to power my Digitech Whammy 4. The other options are just the gravy. This is a very good power supply. Quiet and plenty of power with up to 3000ma available. The cable kit has a bunch of options and made wiring up my pedalboard nice and clean. Now the con(s). It's big, it's heavy, but totally solid. Comes with Pedaltrain mounting brackets. Unfortunately, I do not have a Pedaltrain, I went with the Gator Aluminum Large Board which comes with its own power supply mounting hardware. I thought I was covered, but the mounting hardware on the Gator is too small. Thought about using the pedaltrain hardware, but I'd have to fashion something else for that hardware to mount to. That's a lot of mounting so I decided to go with heavy duty Velcro. That did the trick, but then I had an issue with the AC plug. So I had to order an AC plug that had a 90deg angle on the end that goes into the CS12. Heartache aside, this thing was well worth it. My signal sounds so much quieter now.

Excellent Power Supply

By JJ from Tennessee
Music Background: Weekend Warrior!

Great product at a great price! Super quiet reliable operation with all different types/brands of pedals. I just upgraded from the CS7 which is also a great power brick but my board had outgrown it. All of the cables are really nice and it comes with a lot of options with different lengths and converters. I dont have any pedals that I use 18 volts on so I talked with Dan and he made me a great deal on a package with 2 of the 18v to 9v converters which also work great and allows me to power 11 9v pedals with no daisy chain!

I definitely recommend this power supply to anyone looking for quiet, reliable, versatile power for their pedalboard.

Must have for pedal boards.

By Greg from Ohio
Music Background: semi pro drummer, guitarist, vocals

I made my own pedalboard using the guts from an SKB Footnote board that I bought from Parts Express as one of their closeouts. It had a 5 watt amp, cable tester and eight power outlets. I thought great, a practice amp AND power in one unit. Yea...not so much. The amp and cable tester worked fine. The power....eh...not so much. NOISY! So I took the splurge on this, mounted it beneath my homemade unit and NO PROBLEMS. Dead quiet power. I'm using an array of effects, new and vintage: old EH Small Clone, BK Butler Tube Driver, Boss CE2 Chorus, BB Two Timer Delay, compressor, EQ, and newer Behringer Reverb among others. My TC Helicon Harmony singer is running off its own supply as it draws 670 ma (!), power hungry devil. But the pedal board is quiet, everything works as it should, old and new pedals, - and + center, whatever. Yea, it's a bit pricey, but worth it.

The biggest, baddest power supply I have used to date. Super simple to mount under a Pedal Train with the included hardware, which is a huge plus. I love the different length and color coded power leads - it makes it much easier than some of the other supplies out there to maintain some neatness underneath your board. Really cannot say enough good things about this one - they knocked it out of the park.

Just right for me...

By Mitch P. from Berryville, VA
Music Background: Lifelong guitar enjoyment

This review isn't only about a product, it's about knowing what you're looking for in the 1st place. I've always had a few pedals: a distortion, phaser or and a noise gate. All this could be run off a simple One Spot.

Time has gone by and the pedals now number 9, with an additional pair of 18vMa rated Wamplers. Not only that, I was running 3 One Spot wall warts with daisy chain plugs paying no attention to the benefit that could be achieved by running at a higher voltage. Some conversations with Walrus Audio and Truetone set me straight and the purchase of a Wide HoleyBoard and this CS12 power brick will get me up and runningl

Thanks to Kenny Bergle and the top notch, fast service, it's A+++++++

Ditch the Daisy Chain

By Philip R. from Walker, LA

Great little power supply. I'm a fan of your niche pedals like old Danelectros and other little cheap stomp boxes, so needless to say, a daisy chain supply was awfully noisy. I switched to the 1Spot and so far, it's done a great job of powering and keeping the noise at a minimum. I'm running single coils (tele and Les Paul w/P90s, mostly) through a Supro am, and I can crank the amp volume nearly wide open without getting any noise at all. So, yeah, it does a good job at being an isolated power supply.

That said, I have two very small issues with it.... 1) It does not fit in the mounting bracket that cam with my Gator pedal board. Not a huge issue, I just removed the bracket and used heavy duty velcro to secure the 1Spot beneath the board. The other thing was that the 9V battery adapter cable doesn't work. I tried hooking up my trelicopter pedal, and tried a variety of batteries, all new, and swapping out cables, and the pedal wouldn't get power. It works just fine connected to the power brick. So, that option isn't available.

Other than that, it's a good brick.

It solved all my problems

By Kevin P. from Florida
Music Background: Luthier

I have at least 25 pedals that I've collected over the years. I kept them in drawers in my project studio at home and took them out occasionally. I decided to hook them all up on one pedal board so I could audition them quickly and easily. I got a 42" PedalTrain board and laid it out. But I was using 2 -9v daisy chains and an 18v Daisy Chain. It sounded awful, the noise was unbearable. I talked to my Sweetwater rep. Joe Copenhaver, he suggested the Truetone CS-12. I like it so much, I bought a second one for the bottom sides. He also steered me told me about the Planet Waves cabling system as well. It's so easy to add a pedal or just swap one out now. But the sound! it's quiet when it's just idling. My Flangers woke up, the chorus pedal was fuller. The pedal board looks professional too. To say the least, I'm impressed with the sound of my effects. Look into how your effects are powered, it really matters.

Superb power

By K.B. from Toledo, Oh.
Music Background: extensive/traveling pro

I purchased this item from Sweetwater 2 years ago. It has been with me on my Pedal Train Pro board up and down the road the whole time. No issues.........EVER. I'm a working professional and I depend on my equipment to perform at it's best time after time. I used to have one of those "power bricks" on a previous board and it was noisy, and made my pedals sound bad and inconsistent from one venue to another. What a headache. Then I stepped up to True tone and I was glad I did! It solved all my pedal board issues. It's hard to believe but a really good power supply can make your entire guitar rig sound better. I swear to God it did. This my honest opinion on this product and this company. You can pay more for other power supplies with less features but I'm glad I decided on True tone.

Perfect Power Supply

By Ric from Plant City, Fl

This power supply gives you plenty of options from which to choose. Multiple voltages, etc. Small enough to mount under a Pedaltrain board - nice and neat way to power serval pedals at once. I tried the daisy chain route and the cabling all laying around drove me crazy. This 1Spot CS12 cleans all of that up, plus provides cleaner, quieter power!

Loved it so much I bought 2 other 1Spot CS7 units for my smaller boards!

Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS12

By Blues from Minneapolis
Music Background: Noodle for fun

I have become a Truetone enthusiast! I have all my pedals isolated with plugs in to spare. It mounted under my Pedaltrain board with no issues at all. It is light and has a small footprint. I added an extension cord to my power cable. There is some noise form my Boss pedals but, I run high gain and high volume with low master volume. I would recommend this effects pedal power unit to everyone.

Just what I needed. Quiet power for multiple devices.

By Sweetwater Customer

Works great! Everything is running as quietly as with dedicated wall wart devices with no increase in the noise floor. Several adapters are included; however, I did need to purchase the voltage doubler (works great as well) so that I had the option to run select pedals I have at 24v.

Fantasic Power Source

By Tyler T.
Music Background: Worship Guitarist

This power source does a phenomenal job at powering my pedals! It produces little to no heat when run at full capacity. In regards to pedal needs, I love having the optional switch from 9-12volts as well as the additional 4-9volt slot. Also, when I don't have enough 9volt power jacks, being able to use the Truetone V189 18-volt to 9-volt Converter is great and as well as having the Truetone 1 SPOT TVD Voltage Doubler Cable for pedals with 24volt needs. These two options give this product greater versatility for those who need more or less voltage. In terms of size and weight, I originally thought it would be bulky and difficult to fit under my board. However, when I received it, I was pleasantly surprised by how small and light it was!
The one issue I have with it is that if you, the owner, are not careful, the 9-12volt switches on the bottom can easily be accidentally switched to a higher or lower setting that you intended whilst in transit. I have had this happen a few times myself. Therefore, before powering this product, make sure you have the voltage set to the correct placement or you potentially damage your pedals.

Overall, a fantastic and highly recommended product!

Solves many problems

By donthateaplayer from New Cumberland, PA
Music Background: Always been a player

The 15-18v ports increase the power and sound of my Xotic SP, EP, SL along with other boosters beautifully. The SAG port does give some good variance with your fuzz sound. Lightweight and easy to work with. I bought this yo use in conjunction with my Voodoo lab PP2 because I was previously running a daisy chain from an outlet power strip for additional pedals but was getting a lot of noise. This solved the problem. Love how 1 port is rated 500mA and can be used with a splitter for multiple pedalsI learned a lot about the power supply from the 1 Spot YouTube video.

I took away a half star because I wish all the cables were the same usable length and were all right angle connectors but as a side note; at this price you for 12 ports you can buy the after market cables at or from Sweetwater. This power supply will not mount under your gator board without modifying and buying additional hardware from your local hardware store.

I highly recommend this product after having it for several months running

Clean power

By Kevin C. from IN

After YEARS with a One Spot daisy chain, I decided to upgrade to a good brick. Doing quite a bit of shopping around and comparing, I decided to go with the CS12 based on the number of outputs, included brackets and included cables/adapters, and the great ratings. I was not disappointed in the least. I was somewhat shocked at how light it is; but it doesn't feel flimsy at all.

If you have an older PT JR like me (the kind with a closed rail on the front, with round access holes cut into it), ignore the instructions about putting a battery under the CS12 while you're mounting it for proper spacing. This puts the brick too high, and the access hole for power won't align. Use something thinner.

By Carmelo from Fort Worth, TX
Music Background: Semi-Professional, Student, Studio, Live

First time buying one of these bricks, I quite like it. I'm glad I went with this over the voodoo and my pedalboard builder advised me to go with this type over the Zuma. Seems like it's good quality. The only thing that didn't blow me away were the mounting brackets, kinda odd but once you get everything situated works great. I'd definitely recommend, if it gets any better I'm not aware of it.

Better than daisy chain style

By Sweetwater Customer

I don't have many pedals on my board, but I do have two that require 12V. For the price, this one allows me to plug in everything I have on my board and have a few spots available to grow later. It allows me to have what I need - a complete "mobile" home rig of amplifier and pedal board using just one wall plug (Furman). My only wish is that they made a cable kit like the pedalboard cable kit so you could customize the lengths of your power cables.

July 25, 2017

What a difference!

By ric b. from cotopaxi, CO

I never realized how noisy my board was until I bought this! Not only did it clean things up but the multiple power and current options give me a whole new level of control over the pedals dynamics. I have a couple of 9-18V pedals so I can play around and see which better suits my needs. Oh yeah the 9V Variac totally rocks especially on something like an old Boss DS-1.

Great customer support:
I had an issue on initial setup that turned out to be a bad jumper...I contacted Truetone customer support and they sent out half a dozen extras.

Overall:
We all spend an obscene amount of money on pedals (if you didn't you probably would be looking at something like this) so why not do everything you can to help them perform to your standards.
For the price of one nice pedal, you can now truly be the "Master of your Tone"

Fantastic investment

By Ian from Tucson, Arizona
Music Background: Professional

There is no reason to spend more on another isolated power supply, this thing is great! The variable inputs are a fantastic feature, as my board has an older gen Whammy and a mixture of 12v and 9v pedals. Quiet, easy to mount, and comes with every adapter you'd need. One of best investments someone can make into their sound. My only complaint is that mounting it into a pedaltrain did cause a little wobble, easily fixable.

Truetone CS12

By Jam B. from Carolina del Norte
Music Background: Rock/Indie/Jazz/Funk

As a bass player, my pedalboard is constructed more for tone rather than effect. This power supply not only streamlines my set-up and tear-down but also cleaned my signal up in a huge way. Biggest downside I found is no 15v tap, which is minimal as most pedals are not 15v.

The Power Supply You've Been Looking For

By Zach
Music Background: Session Musician

In the days of power hogging pedals. A regular one spot or even the power bricks of previous days won't cut it. I was on a journey for something that would power a Line 6 m5, a Strymon TimeLine, and a bunch of other pedals. Based on the power demands I needed, this and the Strymon Zuma are the few options really available that are affordable.

The supply includes everything you need and more. It even includes mounting brackets for a Pedaltrain, which is something that most others make you pay for. The quality is great. It's really cleaned my signal up, and I have been very happy with it.

There are a few minor gripes to know about. First, the blue LED light on the bottom is BRIGHT! Second. This is one of the heaviest supplies on the market, but it has some of the most features. Third, sometimes I hear a high pitched hum from the supply. Very quiet, and on a stage, there's no way you can hear it. I have to be sitting in a quiet room, and really be listening hard to hear it.

Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS12

By Doc N. from Connecticut

Maybe this power supply deserves 5 stars, but I've only just begun using it. If it holds up then I'd certainly give it 5 stars. I love the power options because I have a mix of 9, 12, and 18 volt pedals on my board.
This is my first integrated power supply and I love it. It does add to the overall weight of my board, but I've eliminated the tangle of wires from the various wall warts I had before. One power cord - woohoo!
Plus, dealing with Sweetwater is always a pleasure.

Great investment to improve sound!

By Sweetwater Customer

Have been putting my pedalboard together for several months and using a Truetone 1 Spot 9V supply with daisy chain to all pedals - 11 pedals in all now. Was very happy with that choice as the number of pedals grew, and really didn't notice much change in noise level during the expansion - it's a great product with 1700mA output!
Being that my board includes two Xotic pedals that could run on 18V (EP & SL) and a BB Plus that could run on 15V (actually running @ 12V), the CS12 was purchased to take advantage of the extended headroom of these pedals at higher voltage. MAN, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Not only did these sound better, the truly isolated supplies to all pedals cleaned up what little noise there was and the entire rig sounds much better.
HIGHLY recommended product!! Not all power supplies are created equal, especially when it comes to "isolated" supplies - the Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS12 is the bomb!!!

Great Product, Rough Start...

By Mike E. from Beantown
Music Background: Guitarist/Engineer

This unit has a great set of features (2x18v, selectable 12v, AC) with 12 outputs. I have quite a few pedals and like to swap different stomp boxes in and out with different power requirements which is a breeze with this power supply. I've owned Voodoo Labs, Mks, etc in the past and this is at the top of the list. My only gripe is that the first one I received was a defective unit and defective cables hence not quite 5 stars. I've read/seen this happen to a number of people which is a bit frustrating from a QC perspective. Sweetwater was great though and got a new unit out to me in a few days. Would definitely recommend this product in the end!

Quiet Excellence!!

By David F. from Fostoria, OH

Being a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power user since 2003, I'd always been pleased with it, reliable workhorse, etc..
Now since I decided to change over to the pedaltrain system, and the fact there are too many modern digital pedals I plan on adding, I decided to upgrade my power supply also, and upgrade I did with the CS-12! If I dare, I'll have to say that the hum I was developing recently in my old PB, now powered with this beauty, the hum is gone! I just attribute it to some of my pedals really loving the isolated outputs and the awesome one-spot switching technology.
There were no cable issues with mine as I tested every one, so I'm sure that was a fluke with that one review.. Nothing is ever perfect, but this comes about as close to me. And I know if there were a problem Sweetwater would be right on it!
The last PSU anyone would ever need!

I was using a one spot daisy chain and started getting a high pitched hum when I added a digital reverb pedal. Did some research and realized I needed isolated power for it. I picked up the One Spot Pro CS 12 and problem solved. No hum, plenty of outputs, really nice power supply. I have a few low mA draw analog pedals running off one of the standard 9 volt 100 mA outputs using my old daisy chain cable and that is working great too. You can run a lot of pedals with this unit. So far about a month in and I couldn't be happier with the performance.

Truetone needs better QA

By Craig C. from NY

I purchased this a few weeks back and I could not be happier with the power supply. I replaced a Voodoo labs pp2+ and the added power option made it a far superior unit. It's whisper quiet and does exactly as advertised.

Now the bad....the unit shipped with multiple faulty cables, when I spoke to Sweetwater, they shipped me some replacement cables. The tech that helped me said he had to go through two units to find enough working cables to send me. Hopefully Truetone is now aware of the issue and fixing it.

Solid and Silent

By Lance S. from Redding, CA

Cannot beat the price for all the functionality. They thought of just about everything from variable mA 9V to a 9VAC output. Color coded cables of varying length assist with organization. Once I was powering more than four pedals, I upgraded to this power supply instead of daisy chaining their single 1 Spot.

The only downside is that the power input cable exits through the rear of the unit which is fine if you use a Pedaltrain, but if you have a solid backside to your pedalboard, you will need to mount the 1Spot towards the middle or cut a hole in the rear of your board.

The absolute BEST power supply on the market today!!

By Joel from Irwin, PA

This is the absolute best, hands-down, bang-for-buck power supply on the market! It's dead-quiet, and can power everything on the market today--even my two Eventide Factor pedals. It ships with every needed cable possible, including the reverse-polarity adapters needed for pedals like the Eventides that use a positive tip instead of negative. It's also the only power supply on the market that ships with its own mounting brackets for Pedaltrain boards.

As always, Sweetwater's service was nothing short of outstanding. I've been buying stuff from them for years now, and Aaron S. is a great guy to work with!

Better than any other!

By Lee from Virginia

I switched to the One Spot Pro after using a Voodoo labs pedal power 2 plus AND an Iso 5 for 2 years to power my whole board. I'm using the same effects and I have no hum, no power issues, and still enough power to add another pedal. If you have both of the Strymon power houses like I do...do yourself a favor and get this power supply!

This power supply is the real deal. Absolutely quiet and can power just about any pedal available today. Mounts easily underneath a Pedaltrain pedalboard. Comes with all the cables you need to hook up your pedals. Just follow the instructions provided and you will have no problems with this product.

CS12

By Zack from Virginia

Great quality clean power. Got rid of all the hum I was experiencing with 2 power supplies before and it is able to power large Strymon pedals.

Good for the money

By Scott M. from Berkley Michigan
Music Background: Guitarist/Amp builder

Great power supply but I wish a couple things could be different. I wish the two outputs on the left could be switchable to from 18v to 9v since all my pedals are 9v. The other thing is that the manual makes no mention whatsoever of the purpose of the adjustment screw in the center of the device. I dialed mine over to 9v from 4v.

The noise is gone :)

By Abimael M.

I used to use a One Spot to power my pedalboard, i always thought that the noise came from the pickups, but this power supply proved me wrong, i'm currently powering a Strymon Bigsky, a DD20, a Fulldrive 2 at 18v, plus other 8 standard 9v pedals. This unit handles everything well, and it fits well under my Pedaltrain Classic Jr.

Lots of power, lots of features, great price

By Kenny C. from Beaverton, OR
Music Background: Hobbyist, guitarist, composer, producer

I have a LOT of devices on my board (19) and the CS12 has been power all of them successfully, with some daisy chained outputs. Plus, this power supply is at a better price point than the others in this class. I'm very happy with this power supply and would highly recommend it to anyone. Also, it comes with mounting brackets, so you save an extra $15 right there! :)

Great Silent Power

By Felix M. from Houston, TX
Music Background: In a couple performing local bands around town

My board was messy, loud and needed a revamp. I had wall warts and a lot of lines that just was not working and when something went wrong it took time to sort out. NO MORE. Looking over all the selections on the market - this Power Supply was just what the doctor ordered. It proved to be able to handle all my current pedal needs, from 18vDC, 12vDC, 9vDC to 9VAC and low and high power consuming pedals. Very nice how this little box can push so much and remain silent as the night. Very good buy when compared to the other boxes out there.

So far, amazing

By Sweetwater Customer

This is the ONLY power supply that I could find that can power EVERY SINGLE pedal on my board (for under $250). I have a lot of different power requirements. The pedal train mounts are great. It just sits under my board and relieves me of worrying about loose cables and wall warts. One of the best purchases I have made for my live rig.

Perfect!

By Sweetwater Customer from Chicago, IL

This isolated power supply has solved all the issues I was running into. At first, I was using a one spot 9v adapter and a 9v AC adapter for my Digitech Whammy. The 1 Spot Pro CS12 is the first power brick I've seen that supports that type of power. With the intent to buy a pedal that also runs on 12v (TC Electronic Nova Delay), I was beginning to get worried about having to run 3 separate wall adapters to power all my pedals. With the 1 Spot Pro, I can power all my pedals (13 total and counting) and only have to use one plug-in.

With the 1 Spot Pro being able to power all my pedals and only have to plug in to one outlet really saves the headache of setup and breakdown at shows. Plus, the power supply is fairly silent. Of course, it's not dead silent as if I were plugged straight to the amp. That's only because I run so many pedals. However, the small amount of added noise I get from running as many pedals as I do is practically nothing compared to what it was when I had to run several 9v adapters.

I highly recommend this to anyone trying to make their setup time easier and less time consuming. Truetone has made the perfect power supply for my pedal demands and I know it can handle even more when the time comes.

Amazing unit.

By Jon M. from Fort Wayne, IN
Music Background: Guitar pedal geek

The Truetone 1Spot Pro CS12 is probably the best power supply out there and here's why:

1 -This unit can handle world wide voltages and all you have to do is click the toggle switch located in the front of the pedal.
2 - Strymon, Eventide and other power hungry pedals are easily handled with this bad boy. The best part is I didn't have to use a voltage doubler cable and sacrifice another output. Both of my Strymon pedals were up and running without crashing or overpowering the 1Spot.
3 - Pedals that can run on 18v generally sound better that way. With this unit you can have 2 pedals running on 18v and still run a few Strymon/Eventide effects. Once again, no sacrificing extra outputs. - Crazy stuff!
4 - The 1Spot is very light weight and comes with everything you will need to install it underneath your pedalboard.
5 - It comes with color coded cables. - Not super relevant, but I think it is awesome.
6 - Very reasonably priced for all that it does.

In all honesty, I have not seen a power supply at this price point that is capable of doing all that the 1Spot Pro does. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who uses 8+ pedals in their rig.

Best Power supply for the money

By Samuel

Fantastic!

By Dale B. from New Albany, IN
Music Background: Hobby guitarist of 25+ years.

This is my first DC brick so I can't compare it to anything else but as soon as I plugged everything in on my pedalboard and powered it all up I immediately noticed a cleaner, more powerful sound. It fit perfectly underneath of my Pedaltrain Classic 2 and came with brackets for mounting which were a breeze to install.

Another huge plus, for me, is the two 18v outputs. I can run my Fulltone OCD at 18v (which sounds great!) and I still have another 18v in case I decided to add another pedal. Also, you can daisy chain more pedals if you run out of outputs as long as you don't exceed the mA rating on a given output. The sheer number of options makes this a great choice. Solid build overall I am quite pleased.

Finally got around to making the switch to a quality filtered, regulated power supply. Easy mount on my big pedaltrain novo board. So far, really quiet and much easier set up.

True tone for sure!

By Joshua S. from Traverse City, MI

I can't believe I lived without this thing. It sounds like I got a new guitar and amp. The 11 pedals I have previously made a lot of noise and buzzing, but now they are silent and sound beautiful.
