Truetone 1 SPOT Slim 9V DC Adapter

Truetone 1 SPOT Slim 9V DC Adapter Reviews
Peek at any Sweetwater guitarist's pedalboard, and odds are you'll find the incredibly handy Truetone 1 SPOT Slim 9V DC Adapter aboard. This single plug maximizes your outlet or power strip's real estate, ensuring only one spot is utilized while leaving others free and clear for other devices. Truetone packed a staggering 1,700mA into this impressive adapter, capable of powering an entire pedalboard when used with the manufacturer's MC5 or MC8 Multi-plug Cables (sold separately). Whether you're looking to power your favorite pedalboard or in need of a giggable backup, Truetone's 1 SPOT Slim 9V DC Adapter will never steer you wrong.
Noise Free Power Supply
I can recommend these to all who like noise free power for boost, overdrive, distortion, or fuzz pedals! Don't waste your time on money on some noisy high pitch ringing "bargain" power adapter, just get this one, you'll be happy you did!
Essential thing to have in your studio/case/bag/etc.
I definitely use this thing constantly for all different pedals and devices. The first one I bought years ago stopped working consistently because of a short where the cable meets the brick. I gladly bought another one. I got enough mileage out of the first one to pay for itself. If they were more durable it'd get 5 stars, but I treat this as a consumable item. Won't last forever, but an essential tool to have around in the studio, or as a backup in your gig bag.
1 Spot needs two spots
Works well, I'm using it to power a Bigshot ABY. Ironically, I've noticed on a typical power strip, the 1 Spot slightly covers the next 120V inlet's ground receptacle. If you put it in the last opening of a power strip, (this works at one end only) it will use one spot. It needs to have the width slightly reduced, or they could slightly offset the prongs. Still, this is a solid performer.
These work fine
These work fine! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise! Save some money and get this. Great deal!!
Buzzy
I used this on a new setup.
The setup had a bad buzz, the buzz was caused by this. Get something else. I did.
Great AC adapter for TC Electronic Ampworx Combo Deluxe 65 Preamp Pedal
Great AC adapter for TC Electronic Ampworx Combo Deluxe 65 Preamp Pedal.
Thanks to my Sweetwater Rep Tommy Heil for making sure I had the correct set up!
Quiet
Had a noise problem. Bought this, problem gone.
WAY WAY WAY too noisy to use with pedals
The ground noise introduced by this power supply was so bad I couldn't use it. I went back to the PSU that came with my pedal and the noise was completely gone. I tried this on 4 other pedals and they all had the same ground noise issue. I don't know this is even considered a viable product.
This made my amp buzz - low level
I was hoping to lose the buzz from the pedal when I discovered it was this ISPOT. I did get steered to another brand which is more expensive but QUIET! Thank you Sweetwater for the tip! Maybe if you are in a very loud band it might work fine, but it sure didn't work for me. I tried two of them. I run through the Fishman Acoustic Loudbox Artist.
Finally a 9V power adapter that is quality
I would like to say wonderful things about this product, but basically, this is how all 9V power adapters should be - thick, quality cable, 10' long. Enough said. Shocking that EVERY power adapter I have ever got has been such a POS. Well done on this one!
Noisy
This 1 Spot puts out low quality power. When used with one of the two pedals I own, it creates extreme noise and screws up the effects in the pedal. Same pedal is quiet and works perfectly when powered by a cheap, no-name brand 9V supply. Try another brand.
Causing a buzz in my amp
This worked fine for awhile but now causes a buzz in my guitar amp. I checked all cords, connections, and finally I am back to a 9 volt battery and my foot tuner works fine without a buzz. Looking for another brand now.
Nice Product
Well designed...longer, sturdier, way better than the cheap-os.
Wish I had known years earlier.
Too much noise
Terrible noise! Buy Dunlop instead
Good for iRig Pro Duo
This adapter fully meets the needs of the iRig Pro Duo interface. It has a long cord for the plug so placement flexibility is provided. The compact size and slim body are a big plus where space matters. This adapter is well engineered and built. Dan gave me a call in response to respond to my note attached to my order. He called before processing it and clarified that this should be a good match. He mentioned he demos drum gear for Sweetwater after I mentioned that this rig would record my own work, drums and percussion and guests. Thanks--a pleasure to do business and the product is excellent.
Easy and simple!
Used with the 9 volt add on to power my Vox wah. Flawless!
dissapointed
worked a few times and then just put it away and forgot about it
TRUETONE ADAPTER
Works Great and Supplies 1700 mA - Plenty of Power.
Great Power Supply!
Space saver,no noise power supply. Use them on 3 separate pedal boards and a spare. All of my old BOSS power supplies have been retired to Old Pedals retirement Shelf, for those who come after me.. Highly recommended
Noisy
I got this overpriced 9v power supply because of the marketing hype, but it adds so much noise to my output signal that I went back to a 9v battery.
It is cheaper and it is quieter.
Use a Pedaltrain Nano to host 5 mini pedals.
Initially purchased and used another product that conveniently mounted under the board to power my pedals. The more that I used the product: the more noise I noticed. At some point, decided to upgrade. The Truetone 1Spot seemed too good to be true. Very skeptically, I took the plunge and I could not be happier. It is cheaper and it is quieter. Thanks Truetone and Sweetwater! Hope this helps! Cheers!
Disappointing performance
This is something of a disappointment. Powering one pedal: quiet, two pedals: quiet. Adding the third pedal-- no matter what pedal or connection order yields a substantial 60Hz hum. I am using the OneSpot daisy chain power cable, and the total current draw is under the max amperage of the OneSpot.
I need to use a second wart to run the third pedal.
Ho hum..... so boring
Ho Hum, no hum.
This humbug eats all your hum.
Nothing exciting, you just don't hear any electricity!!!!
What a great device!!
Not the 1st one I've bought.
All I hear playing acoustic amplified is acoustic as intended!!!!
Does the same for my electric rig.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
One Spot stopped working after a few weeks
Title says it all. No abuse, light use, cared fro, stopped supplying power.
They work
Gear snobs hate them, but they work.
If you're powering a handful of BOSS or equivalent type pedals this will suite you just fine at a reasonable price.
I use mine with a daisy chain for BOSS, Friedman & Wampler pedals without any noise or issues at all.
Not lasting long enough.
Sorry but it's true. Having to constantly replace them. When they working they're fine.
Exactly what I was hoping for, after other daisy chain disappointments
Sweetwater..... "Simply The Best"
I am always amazed by your business plan, customer service, excellence in "top of the line" products, shipping... etc.-Etc.-ETC.! Ian Lemberg is a great representative / engineer - so personal and knowledgeable. Y'all are "Simply The Best"! .... "Better Than All The Rest"...... Mike
Truetone 9V
I works great with my Darkglass BK7 Ultra, recommended.
No More Noise and No More Batteries
Was nervous I'd get noise from this based on experience with other daisy chain adapters in the past.
I'm happy to say that I get zero noise from this adapter, and it has worked flawlessly.
Died in under a year
Maybe I bought a lemon but last night this thing was dead and could not be revived. Probably made with quality chinese parts.
10 foot cord! Takes up more than "one spot" I'm afraid.
No brainer purchase
My pedal collection has grown, and will probably continue to do so. My Voodoo Lab isolated power supply is totally taken up, so I have my old trusty 1 spot powering a secondary mini board that houses my dirt pedals. I am currently using the 5-way chain cable. No noise. If your big fancy isolated power supply is spoken for, don't hesitate to grab a 1 Spot and daisy chain cable to power your leftover pedals. It just works, really.
Great buy
Very good 9v power supply. Also reduces (or rids) pedal noise. I have an old Washburn "Stack in a box" distortion pedal that I bought in the 80's. Somewhat of a noisey pedal. The 1Spot stopped the noise! I'm thrilled. With 1700 mA, it should handle all the power needed for most 9v pedal boards.
Silent Power
My favorite pedal for my bass (a Demeter Opto-Compulator) was about 10 years old and its factory wall wart power adapter failed. Tried a bunch of new adpaters and they all made the pedal noisy as heck. Finally tried the Trutone 1 SPOT 9V and, voila, my pedal is back to its old, noiseless, wonderful self. Thank you Truetone & Sweetwater!
Truetone 1 SPOT Slim 9V DC Adapter
Bought it for a backup for my pedal board and it's noisy like an A.C. hum the last thing I want is more unwanted noise in the system. I been satisfied with Sweetwater products and help in the past but by the time I decided to try it was to late to send it back. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Perfect Pedal Power
I have used a OneSpot for several years in multiple configurations powering up to 9 pedals without any issues. I revert tried an inexpensive Donner power block and an MXR DC Brick. Both of these work fine, added unnecessary cables and took up space. I can"t tell or hear any difference. The plug on these latter devices is too short and often requires an extension cord. Not so with the OneSpot, it"s perfectly long enough.
It"s also super easy to go from one board set up to another. Just plug into your daisy chain and you"re off!
I deducted 1/2 a star because the cord tends to twist and corkscrew easily after several wrap ups and unwinds.
Noise Free Heavy Duty Power supply, I buy em by the dozen....
Every time I buy a Center pin negative pedal I buy a 1 spot, stick it on my Furman Surge protector and forget about it, Powered....Clean, Noise Free! Most people would be appalled at the number of cables I run, but make no mistake, Clean Heavy Duty Power is a premium for Great Tone and Longevity of performance....it dosnt make sense to skimp when it comes to Power and Cables, unless of course you like undoing all the hard work that went into making the great Amps and Pedals you plug into....
Just Buy Em and be glad you did when you go over to your friends place and notice how much quiter your setup is than his, you'll thank me for saying so.
Your Welcome.
Poor man's power solution
I play bass professionally and I really don't use effects consistently enough to justify spending the money on a pedal-board/power brick setup. This adapter with the extension gave me the ability to setup a few pedals on stage and in the in the studio... So far haven't had any problems with noise from dirty power sources and haven't popped any breakers. I would definitely recommend having one of these even if it's just an emergency backup in case your power brick goes south.
(And I just drilled some holes through a plank of wood and zip tied the pedals to it in case you were wondering how I got around the board part)
Yes it does
Man, I"m glad I found this page. I got a pedal board that came with a power supply and a five-pedal daisy chain. Just like in the video, I got several different-pitched squeals from a few of the pedals. I went to my studio to search through my piles of power supplies and found the 1 Spot. I have no idea where or when I got it. But I plugged into the power strip, then into the daisy chain and, lo and behold, silence. I turned on each effect and then several together and there were no squeals, no hiss or hum. I am blown away. I"ll be getting a few of these.
Truetone1Spot
Hard to believe this power supply works so well. I bought it originally to power my Ditto Looper, a tuner and Ibanez chorus pedal. When I decided to add a couple more pedals (compression and some overdrive) I assumed I"d have to take the hit for a heftier power box of some sort. I decided to try the 1 Spot first...perfect!! Absolutely stone cold quiet!! I just wish it had an 15v line for my Helicon Harmony box...but awesome for the price! Of course, a shout out to Matt Kreager...always there to provide the amazing Sweetwater service...I shop nowhere else!
Power for TC Electronic pedals
Works perfectly and there are adapters to power multiple pedals with a single supply.
1 Spot equals 1 happy customer
I've bought two of these now. Not that the first one had any issues, it was just to be on the safe side. They're light enough to take on flyaway gigs and they work absolutely fine with various voltages in other countries. Speak to Sweetwater's Dave Snow, he's always professional and efficient.
Perfect for Mesa’s Subway Preamp
The 1 Spot powers my Subway preamp cleanly, and is dead quiet. No adapter needed for this particular application, plugs right in! The quality 10 ft. cable is a nice feature, also. Big tip of the hat to my sales tech Ryan Clapper!
Works Great
Works great. I only get a buzz on the shared supply from the Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive (Model TO800). All others are quiet Cry Baby, MXR, RV-3, TR-2 CS-3, Boss CH-1.
Small footprint power supply
Was very pleased with this power supply, especially when it has the capability of powering so many other pedals. The perfect item to remember when I need another power wart.
Truett ne 1 Spot
I, also, own one of these power packs...I use it mainly for my wireless receiver...And on occasion I've used it for my effects pedal...Very nice!
1 Spot
I have a small collection of pedals Nd this 1 Spor connects them all. No noise either. Great product!
NO ENGERIZER BUNNY FOR ME
SO MUCH BETTER THAN BATTERIES I ASSURE YOU... BOUGHT THE PATCH CABLES AS WELL.
A / C adapter
Perfect I love it
Amazing power supply
I use this in my main rig it runs three pedals behind the am in the loop and powers my pedals out front too via a 25' extension cable powers my orange amp detonator, t.c. spark mini, behringer hellbabe wha, mxr phase 90, in the back 2 t.c. electronic hall of fame mini, and a behringer chorus no noise at all exelent buy!
Trutone 1 Spot
Great Product cant go wrong with this powering your pedals.
Truetone 1 SPOT: Very Capable Power Supply
I've had this for a month so I can't testify to the long-term duration, but out of the box it has more than enough power to run my small collection of three pedals. The Truetone 5-Plug Daisy Chain for 1 SPOT is a must accessory.
Does the job
It delivers power very evenly, and I've never had any issues when it comes to powering 5 pedals. I haven't tried it for 8 pedals yet (I don't have 8 pedals to try it on), but I have a good friend who does all the time, and also never has issues. Great product.
Two Words for the Truetone 1 SPOT Power Adapter
Just four words to describe the Truetone 1 SPOT...
It's absolutely noiseless, and it works perfectly!
What more could you possibly need to know?
Truetone 1 SPOT
Quiet so far and long cord is a plus.
A Major Solution
Pages of technical design and performance data could be cited. But,..... not necessary. This product, which I've been using (the same one for 5 years) has never failed me. I run 5 pedals on my board, and the power delivered to them is always reliable and not ever problematic. The chord and plug are very durable,....never a problem. Yes, I am careful with my equipment when setting up and tearing down,... but then that's a good philosophy. Durability and performance, for me, has been absolutely the best. And hey, who would want to drag along and set up individual power supplies for each pedal?
Truetone 1 Spot, ....mission accomplished,....every time.
truetone 1 spot
I have 4 Best power supplies
Great Power Supply for multiple or single Pedals
No hum, just beautiful clean power.
Works like a charm!
I am a bassist with an addiction to pedals! I don't always use all I buy but... this gem daisy chains what I "need" for most my gigs.
one spot
works great, low noise.
Truetone 1 Spot
Works as advertised!
1 Spot 9V Adapter
I have been using 1 Spots for years, you can always depend on them and they can power more pedals than u think that it can!
The perfect power solution for small spaces
I practice in a very constrained space where a pedal board for all of my pedals is simply not possible. This little item lets me save on adaptors and place the pedals where they fit. It's quite and well constructed. It's the perfect solution for limited outlet and space situations.
Perfect!
My guitar player gave me this item, and it has eliminated all power adapters and batteries from my power supply. I hook up 6 pedals, one of which is a Roland PK-5 MIDI controller.
Nice adapter!
Does everything it's suppose to. It saved me on a pedal board that I had bought. The power adapter that came with the board took a puke on me as soon as I plugged it in. All I got was a loud squealing feed back sound when I used the adapter that came with the board. I had happened to buy the 1 Spot the same time I bought the pedal board. I plugged it in and it worked great! ( By the way Ryan - I've got to order another one of those SOON! )
Thanks again Sweetwater.
Pedal Power
Good solution that will expand with your needs. Just add a harness to put more pedals on the chain. The availability of options as you need them is great.
1 spot
Works great! Thanks again sweetwater!
1 Spot
The 1 spot power adapter does what is expected, however, in some (perhaps non standard) AC receptacles it doesn't fit as tight as I would like. Sales person AJ was perfect as usual.
does what it supposed to
Seems well made and does the job for powering my ditto X 2 looper Be aware that is is only applicable for 9V pedals.
Does what it needs to.
It's a 9V power supply that only takes up one space.
Does what it needs to and has survived a couple of gigs.
I have run it off of house power and through a power conditioner and have not noticed noise or hum that others have commented on.
Convenient!
It does what it's supposed to do, still yet have to try out the split feature though.
Thanks Tony Dayton Sweetwater Rep!
Great, great, great... no bulky pedalboards that I am stuck with. Just the 1 Spot and my hardwood floor. Perfect!
Great power
No noise, works great
1 spot adapter
Very nice adapter...LOVE the 10 foot cable. Haven't used to power multples, only have the 1 pedal I use now, (only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is I can't check out all the features) but if it works as great as it does for single it's perfect.
1 Spot IS #1
This is the 2nd one of these I have purchased. I was so impressed with the 1st one that I use for my TC Polytune Tuner, I knew that it was my 1st choice when I needed another to power my keyboard and it didn't disappoint me.
1 Spot power adapter
Fits everything I have so far, and gets me the power I need , I'm 100% satisfied.
GREAT ADAPTER!!!
LETS MAKE THIS SWEET&SHORT!THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY GREAT ADAPTER!!!
Does A Great Job
This 9 volt adapter does a great job with no issues. I use it with my TC Polytune tuner.
1 Spot is NOT noisy
When using effects with lots of gain before your amp, the noise is NOT due to the 1 Spot! NO power supply will remove that noise! That noise is caused by the pedal and the high gain you have cranked in. To remove that noise you need a noise suppression pedal.
Works great
Since the pedal I bought didn't come with its own power adapter (why can't they have it where you can buy it with THEIR pedal?), I was afraid buying another brand power adapter wouldn't work with my new-bought pedal! It works great!
A good power supply
I use this to power a Dual Tap delay pedal and this works great. I would hesitate however to daisy chain multiple pedals to this due to ground loops. Fits nicely on a power strip taking only 1 Spot.
Kills the PSA whine!
Got this to replace a Boss PSA120 for my pedal board.I had been
putting up with a high pitched whine for years for no reason! This works great and is silent !
reduce the number of wall warts
I love this thing- it powers five stomp boxes with one converter- make sure to but the separate five output cord for it, great for a custom pedal board
Great power supply: but be careful.
I love this power supply and have used it for many years now to power my board. It has a lot of milliamps to offer as well as a super functional form factor. It takes up virtually no space on your board. The only real issue with these power supplies is ground loops created by daisy chaining, but other than that this power supply rocks. You can't get anything better for the price!
Quiet and Reliable
This powers my SDD3K and Liverpool pedals. No 60Hz hum and quiet overall, although it's plugged into a Furman line conditioner. I haven't tried it straight into a wall outlet. Does what it's suppose too, no complaints.
Good Design
Perfect. Obviously designed by folks who use these things often and know what works.
Great power supply
Works as advertised and only takes up ONE plug in the power strip. Quality is similar to Boss PSA but more streamlined. I like it better. Easily connects with any pedals or the SPOT multi plug. You will not be disappointed.

Best power supply for under $100
This is the best guitar purchase ive ever made for under $20. It came 2 days early (3 days), and I just got off of the phone with Karl Long, telling how amazed I was with my order. I use a vintage guitar with single coil pickups, and this got rid of all hum with a metal distorion preset on my Mustang. Great Work Sweetwater!
Noisy with gain!
I have 2 of them, i only had fx in the loop. however once i started using fx before the amp they were crazy noisy.
Nice Product
I've never had issues with this product, and I love that it only takes one spot on my power strip leaving plenty of space to plug in other gear. Much better than having to buy new 9v batteries constantly.
