Noise Free Power Supply

I can recommend these to all who like noise free power for boost, overdrive, distortion, or fuzz pedals! Don't waste your time on money on some noisy high pitch ringing "bargain" power adapter, just get this one, you'll be happy you did!

Essential thing to have in your studio/case/bag/etc.

By TJP from NY
Music Background: guitarist

I definitely use this thing constantly for all different pedals and devices. The first one I bought years ago stopped working consistently because of a short where the cable meets the brick. I gladly bought another one. I got enough mileage out of the first one to pay for itself. If they were more durable it'd get 5 stars, but I treat this as a consumable item. Won't last forever, but an essential tool to have around in the studio, or as a backup in your gig bag.

1 Spot needs two spots

By Sweetwater Customer

Works well, I'm using it to power a Bigshot ABY. Ironically, I've noticed on a typical power strip, the 1 Spot slightly covers the next 120V inlet's ground receptacle. If you put it in the last opening of a power strip, (this works at one end only) it will use one spot. It needs to have the width slightly reduced, or they could slightly offset the prongs. Still, this is a solid performer.

WAY WAY WAY too noisy to use with pedals

By Michael L. from Seneca, IL

The ground noise introduced by this power supply was so bad I couldn't use it. I went back to the PSU that came with my pedal and the noise was completely gone. I tried this on 4 other pedals and they all had the same ground noise issue. I don't know this is even considered a viable product.

This made my amp buzz - low level

By Emele C. from Winthrop, WA
Music Background: professional musician for over 50 years

I was hoping to lose the buzz from the pedal when I discovered it was this ISPOT. I did get steered to another brand which is more expensive but QUIET! Thank you Sweetwater for the tip! Maybe if you are in a very loud band it might work fine, but it sure didn't work for me. I tried two of them. I run through the Fishman Acoustic Loudbox Artist.

Finally a 9V power adapter that is quality

By Bill S. from POINT ROBERTS, WA

I would like to say wonderful things about this product, but basically, this is how all 9V power adapters should be - thick, quality cable, 10' long. Enough said. Shocking that EVERY power adapter I have ever got has been such a POS. Well done on this one!

Noisy

By WILLIAM S. from GREENSBORO, NC

This 1 Spot puts out low quality power. When used with one of the two pedals I own, it creates extreme noise and screws up the effects in the pedal. Same pedal is quiet and works perfectly when powered by a cheap, no-name brand 9V supply. Try another brand.

Good for iRig Pro Duo

By Robert A. from KNOXVILLE, TN
Music Background: drummer

This adapter fully meets the needs of the iRig Pro Duo interface. It has a long cord for the plug so placement flexibility is provided. The compact size and slim body are a big plus where space matters. This adapter is well engineered and built. Dan gave me a call in response to respond to my note attached to my order. He called before processing it and clarified that this should be a good match. He mentioned he demos drum gear for Sweetwater after I mentioned that this rig would record my own work, drums and percussion and guests. Thanks--a pleasure to do business and the product is excellent.

It is cheaper and it is quieter.

By Sweetwater Customer

Use a Pedaltrain Nano to host 5 mini pedals.
Initially purchased and used another product that conveniently mounted under the board to power my pedals. The more that I used the product: the more noise I noticed. At some point, decided to upgrade. The Truetone 1Spot seemed too good to be true. Very skeptically, I took the plunge and I could not be happier. It is cheaper and it is quieter. Thanks Truetone and Sweetwater! Hope this helps! Cheers!

Problem Solved

By Rob W. from NC
Music Background: 40+ Years Experience

My pedal collection exploded almost overnight from 4 pedals to 8. The daisy chain I was using, powered by a Boss PSA, was underpowered already and lacking outlets. I decided to give the 1 SPOT adapter and 8-plug daisy chain a try. One try. If this thing had made even the slightest noise beyond what I would normally hear, I was going to chuck it in a drawer and get an expensive isolated Power brick. I don't mess around with sound quality.
I tested it by running all 8 pedals at once (something I never do when actually playing). The 1 SPOT passed the test with flying colors. With 1700ma of power available, there is more than enough juice to run my rig. All pedals are functioning beautifully with no noise. Also, the right angle plugs mean I don't have to disconnect the chain before putting the board in its' travel case, I can leave everything hooked up just like it is.
Before you buy the "brick" give this a try. It does a great job at a fraction of the price. I can't guarantee it will work with all pedals, but it worked for mine. To see the pedals I use and to see how neatly it tidies up the board, check out the pic below.

Disappointing performance

By Dan F. from Coventry Twp, OH

This is something of a disappointment. Powering one pedal: quiet, two pedals: quiet. Adding the third pedal-- no matter what pedal or connection order yields a substantial 60Hz hum. I am using the OneSpot daisy chain power cable, and the total current draw is under the max amperage of the OneSpot.

I need to use a second wart to run the third pedal.

Exactly what I was hoping for, after other daisy chain disappointments

By Bruce S. from TALLADEGA, AL
Music Background: Country, Rock, and Gospel

This was my third try at a daisy-chain-style pedal power supply. After watching a 1-Spot video from the creator of 1-Spot, I decided to give this daisy-chain-style a chance and if it didn't work, I would try something more expensive. I am so glad I did. After I hooked it up, and turned my amp on and plugged my guitar in, I couldn't heard anything but what I would normally hear when the amp and guitar are turned on. I'm a weekend player so I was so glad this inexpensive solution has worked. Just for information, I currently only have three pedals and they are a DD-3 Delay, CS-3 Comp, and an Ibanez TS9. I am confident I could add more. I would highly recommend watching his video as well. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a quiet way to run multiple pedals from one power source. In addition, my power source is not dedicated, I have lights running on it as well as a power strip that I was plugged into.

10 foot cord! Takes up more than "one spot" I'm afraid.

By DrNewcenstein from Tennessee
Music Background: Experienced player

FINALLY! Someone with enough sense to put a 10 foot lamp cord on a wall wart! I mean, seriously, what moron was in charge of these previous wall warts with a 3 foot cord? Where did they actually gig like that?

And that's really the one trick of this pony. The "takes up only one space" is entirely dependent on the power strip you're using. Stick this in the back of a Furman in a crowded rack and see how many spots get taken up. I put it on a heavy duty power strip/brick with its own 10 foot cord, and which has 8 outlets (3 sideways for wall warts and 5 stacked for 3-prong / computer/rack gear style) and it blocks another one, or covers the power switch for the strip. The other outlets aren't completely blocked, but it's an uncomfortably tight squeeze to get another plug (Line 6 "lamp cord" or traditional rack 3-prong) into the spot next to it. Maybe if the nose of the housing was squared instead of pointed, which is where it intersects.

Still, that 10 foot cord though....
And that jumper cable system to power multiple pedals. Gonna have to look into that more, because it sounds like what I need (5 EHX wall warts on their own power strip right now, plus a TC-Helicon HS2 powered by the 1-spot).

No brainer purchase

By JKC from New York
Music Background: Songwriter, Technologist, Recordist, Guitarist, Dad

My pedal collection has grown, and will probably continue to do so. My Voodoo Lab isolated power supply is totally taken up, so I have my old trusty 1 spot powering a secondary mini board that houses my dirt pedals. I am currently using the 5-way chain cable. No noise. If your big fancy isolated power supply is spoken for, don't hesitate to grab a 1 Spot and daisy chain cable to power your leftover pedals. It just works, really.

Great buy

By Jacob
Music Background: 60's, thru 90's rock

Very good 9v power supply. Also reduces (or rids) pedal noise. I have an old Washburn "Stack in a box" distortion pedal that I bought in the 80's. Somewhat of a noisey pedal. The 1Spot stopped the noise! I'm thrilled. With 1700 mA, it should handle all the power needed for most 9v pedal boards.

Silent Power

By Cliff from VA

My favorite pedal for my bass (a Demeter Opto-Compulator) was about 10 years old and its factory wall wart power adapter failed. Tried a bunch of new adpaters and they all made the pedal noisy as heck. Finally tried the Trutone 1 SPOT 9V and, voila, my pedal is back to its old, noiseless, wonderful self. Thank you Truetone & Sweetwater!

Perfect Pedal Power

By Charles from Cincinnati
Music Background: Semi-Amateur, Semi-Pro

I have used a OneSpot for several years in multiple configurations powering up to 9 pedals without any issues. I revert tried an inexpensive Donner power block and an MXR DC Brick. Both of these work fine, added unnecessary cables and took up space. I can"t tell or hear any difference. The plug on these latter devices is too short and often requires an extension cord. Not so with the OneSpot, it"s perfectly long enough.
It"s also super easy to go from one board set up to another. Just plug into your daisy chain and you"re off!
I deducted 1/2 a star because the cord tends to twist and corkscrew easily after several wrap ups and unwinds.

Noise Free Heavy Duty Power supply, I buy em by the dozen....

By Nick M. from Seattle,WA

Every time I buy a Center pin negative pedal I buy a 1 spot, stick it on my Furman Surge protector and forget about it, Powered....Clean, Noise Free! Most people would be appalled at the number of cables I run, but make no mistake, Clean Heavy Duty Power is a premium for Great Tone and Longevity of performance....it dosnt make sense to skimp when it comes to Power and Cables, unless of course you like undoing all the hard work that went into making the great Amps and Pedals you plug into....

Just Buy Em and be glad you did when you go over to your friends place and notice how much quiter your setup is than his, you'll thank me for saying so.

Your Welcome.

Poor man's power solution

By Chris from New York, NY
Music Background: Session/Gigging

I play bass professionally and I really don't use effects consistently enough to justify spending the money on a pedal-board/power brick setup. This adapter with the extension gave me the ability to setup a few pedals on stage and in the in the studio... So far haven't had any problems with noise from dirty power sources and haven't popped any breakers. I would definitely recommend having one of these even if it's just an emergency backup in case your power brick goes south.

(And I just drilled some holes through a plank of wood and zip tied the pedals to it in case you were wondering how I got around the board part)

Yes it does

By Dave from PA
Music Background: Lifelong professional musician

Man, I"m glad I found this page. I got a pedal board that came with a power supply and a five-pedal daisy chain. Just like in the video, I got several different-pitched squeals from a few of the pedals. I went to my studio to search through my piles of power supplies and found the 1 Spot. I have no idea where or when I got it. But I plugged into the power strip, then into the daisy chain and, lo and behold, silence. I turned on each effect and then several together and there were no squeals, no hiss or hum. I am blown away. I"ll be getting a few of these.

Truetone1Spot

By Richard C. from Raleigh, NC
Music Background: 50 year guitar player and frontman for The Grey Carson Band

Hard to believe this power supply works so well. I bought it originally to power my Ditto Looper, a tuner and Ibanez chorus pedal. When I decided to add a couple more pedals (compression and some overdrive) I assumed I"d have to take the hit for a heftier power box of some sort. I decided to try the 1 Spot first...perfect!! Absolutely stone cold quiet!! I just wish it had an 15v line for my Helicon Harmony box...but awesome for the price! Of course, a shout out to Matt Kreager...always there to provide the amazing Sweetwater service...I shop nowhere else!

extremely high mA 9v if you need it

By Paul

Has to be said "daisy chaining" power feeds is problematic at best for creating ground loops and pedal interactions (noise/hum/popping). It reminds me of my early chain of Boss pedals (too many buffers)and not understanding power requirements or ground loop hum issues. You can get away with it sometimes but some pedals will not tolerate it.
You should use an isolated filtered power brick for the optimal power line feeds. I also use two Furman Power Conditioners in my rack which supply the entire rig. Dead quiet. You don't run a Corvette on Kerosene.
The One Spot for me is a very low priced quality power wart with an amazing 1700mA capacity. That is rather unique and perfect for those pedals that require a really huge current mA draw. I never daisy chain anything with it just use it for a massive current wart. Very quiet, quality wart if you ask me.

I run 5 pedals on my board, and the power delivered to them is always reliable and not ever problematic. The chord and plug are very durable,....never a problem. 1 SPOT is perfect for a small board

By Kyle B. from Midlothian, VA

Truetone really found a great niche with the 1 SPOT. This power supply really works well. In comparison, prior to owning the 1 SPOT, I had experience using a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus in my larger board. Both are very good power supplies.
But for a small board that just doesn't have the real estate for a PP2P, the 1 SPOT is perfect. It took me a while to understand the package when I was researching it. If you need a simple power adapter for a typical pedal - whether power hungry or not - the 1 SPOT is a perfect start. The integrated plug and wall-wart is built perfectly to not hog a power strip or quad box. But if you want to power more 9v pedals, pick up only the 1 SPOT Multi Plug 5 Cable and hook your other pedals up to the 1 SPOT - (up to the maximum 1700mA of power). I plug can now power multiple pedals from a single 1 SPOT. The multi-cable has the typical standard pedal power connector commonly found... But if you have an odd-ball pedal (I have Demeter fuzz and an older Crybaby Wah), you can get adapters for those input jacks. Check with your Sweetwater account team/sales member for details concerning your specific pedals. These guys know this stuff.

Does everything it's suppose to. It saved me on a pedal board that I had bought. The power adapter that came with the board took a puke on me as soon as I plugged it in. All I got was a loud squealing feed back sound when I used the adapter that came with the board. I had happened to buy the 1 Spot the same time I bought the pedal board. 1 spot adapter

By Frank from Bangor, ME
Music Background: Gigging Musician, Instructor.

Very nice adapter...LOVE the 10 foot cable. Haven't used to power multples, only have the 1 pedal I use now, (only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is I can't check out all the features) but if it works as great as it does for single it's perfect.

1 Spot IS #1

By Len T. from Fowler, IL
Music Background: Pro Hobbyist & Student

This is the 2nd one of these I have purchased. I was so impressed with the 1st one that I use for my TC Polytune Tuner, I knew that it was my 1st choice when I needed another to power my keyboard and it didn't disappoint me.

1 Spot is NOT noisy

By Jim K. from Lacey, WA
Music Background: Blues player

When using effects with lots of gain before your amp, the noise is NOT due to the 1 Spot! NO power supply will remove that noise! That noise is caused by the pedal and the high gain you have cranked in. To remove that noise you need a noise suppression pedal.

Works great

By karateguitar from Va, USA
Music Background: Guitar player

Since the pedal I bought didn't come with its own power adapter (why can't they have it where you can buy it with THEIR pedal?), I was afraid buying another brand power adapter wouldn't work with my new-bought pedal! It works great!

A good power supply

By David L. from Northern CA
Music Background: Semi Pro playing in a band

I use this to power a Dual Tap delay pedal and this works great. I would hesitate however to daisy chain multiple pedals to this due to ground loops. Fits nicely on a power strip taking only 1 Spot.

Got this to replace a Boss PSA120 for my pedal board.I had been
putting up with a high pitched whine for years for no reason! This works great and is silent !

reduce the number of wall warts

By Albert from Indianapolis
Music Background: former pro

I love this thing- it powers five stomp boxes with one converter- make sure to but the separate five output cord for it, great for a custom pedal board

Great power supply: but be careful.

By Brandon R. from Orlando, FL
Music Background: Musician, Songwriter, Producer

I love this power supply and have used it for many years now to power my board. It has a lot of milliamps to offer as well as a super functional form factor. It takes up virtually no space on your board. The only real issue with these power supplies is ground loops created by daisy chaining, but other than that this power supply rocks. You can't get anything better for the price!

Quiet and Reliable

By Todd from FL
Music Background: Hobbyist

This powers my SDD3K and Liverpool pedals. No 60Hz hum and quiet overall, although it's plugged into a Furman line conditioner. I haven't tried it straight into a wall outlet. Does what it's suppose too, no complaints.

Great power supply

By Jeremy S. from Okinawa Japan
Music Background: Church Musician

Works as advertised and only takes up ONE plug in the power strip. Quality is similar to Boss PSA but more streamlined. I like it better. Easily connects with any pedals or the SPOT multi plug. You will not be disappointed.

Best power supply for under $100

By Casey W. from Alden, NY, USA
Music Background: Student, Hobbyist, Gear Junkie

This is the best guitar purchase ive ever made for under $20. It came 2 days early (3 days), and I just got off of the phone with Karl Long, telling how amazed I was with my order. I use a vintage guitar with single coil pickups, and this got rid of all hum with a metal distorion preset on my Mustang. Great Work Sweetwater!

Nice Product

By Brian from Fredericktown, OH
Music Background: Gigging Bassplayer

I've never had issues with this product, and I love that it only takes one spot on my power strip leaving plenty of space to plug in other gear. Much better than having to buy new 9v batteries constantly.
