.010-.046 Optiweb Light-gauge Electric Guitar Strings

With their Optiweb technology, Elixir is offering their most natural-feeling and -sounding electric guitar strings yet. Aimed at players who want the same feel and sound as an uncoated string, the Optiweb electric guitar strings are specially engineered to allow the string to vibrate freely. They also offer a precise grip on the strings, which Sweetwater players appreciate for bending and wide vibrato techniques. If you want strings that last, while still enjoying the experience of untreated strings, check out the Elixir Optiwebs.

Been Using for Years

By Adam on September 15, 2023 Music Background: 18 years of being a music geek

Great strings. Last long. They sound good for a long time too. Not nearly the high end zing of Daddarios, but I actually like that.
They bend easily, even with a Strat. The high E is the toughest, I usually only bend a full step with it, but with the other 5, I can easily get 2 whole steps.
I have no plans to try new strings, these do it for me.

Immortal

By Sweetwater Customer on March 29, 2022

These strings have NEVER gone dead, dull, or dirty on me, even after months of playing. I have had real frustration with conventional strings, particularly the low E, losing that "bounce" after a few days. These strings are seemingly immune to this issue, while sounding and feeling good. Highly recommended, even at the higher price, because they do something no other strings do.

Best sounding so far

By Justin Nasworthy from Swainsboro, GA on February 2, 2022 Music Background: Punk

Not so much as happy with the strings (i mean yeah they're good but they're just strings) as much so with Ashton Boyd. I was a die hard guitar center customer until Ashton. I recommend if you can choose your sales rep, go with him. I've had issues with equipment that were user caused, and Ashton will stop his day until the issue is gone.

Bought these a few weeks ago. For, the first time. Very impressed with them. The sound is very nice.

Great tone, long life

By Gary Novak from OH on July 25, 2020 Music Background: Lo-Burn Pro, Loud

When I play, even at home, I sweat like a ***** on Coupon Night. I used to play Ernie Balls, for their tone. But I was changing strings every week or two. These Elixirs feel natural, sound amazing, and last 4 times longer than any other strings I've tried. Try 'em, you won't be sorry.

Gear

First try with the elixer optiweb strings, they perform great! My sales engineer David M is awesome, always helpful, and knows his gear, I order quite often and have never been disappointed! Sweetwater is hands down the best! Next up, now try the paradigms on the same guitar!!

After all these years...

By Emilio Conesa from Los Angeles on June 22, 2017 Music Background: years of experience

I was surprised that I would change my string preference after so many years.
I accepted to be a beta tester and was sold!
Yes that cost more than my old standby brand but well worth it because they really last long and most importantly sound and feel fantastic.

Wont stay in tune

By Nick from CT on July 26, 2019

I put these on my Tom Anderson Classic S, which comes strung with Regular Elixer Nanowebs, when you buy a new Tom Anderson guitar. Elixers are just too slippery for me, so I normally use Dadarrio NYXL 10-46 which used to stay in tune great. After having a few bad batches of NYXL strings this year ( I am not the only one if you read the current reviews) I decided to try these Elixers because they are supposed to feel like normal strings. They are a bit less slick than Nanowebs, but are still too slick for my liking, especially on the low A and E strings which feel too slick compared to the other 4 strings. The main issue of these strings is they just will not stay in tune, even after a week long break in period and some usual nut sauce lube. Looks like I will have to find the right strings for this guitar, but these just don't seem to want to play well. I am tuning more than I am playing which is not fun.
