Classy Nylon Ovation
Right out of the box, I could tell that the Ovation Legend Classical/Nylon 6-string Acoustic, was a winner. The AA Solid Cedar top lends a mellow blend to the vivid tone. I was pleasantly surprised with the OP-Pro Preamp and built-in tuner. The sound can be moulded to your pallet of treble or bass. The finish and construction are of the highest scale. It sounds and plays as good as it looks.
Back to my roots
I have been looking for a classical to use in the studio and to play out. My other classical is a 45 yr old that was my first guitar and far too precious (to me) to risk taking out. The older one also had no electronics. Since I own 2 other Ovations and have played an older Ovation classic, I decided that this was the option I was looking for. Once she arrived and I played her, I knew I had made the right decision.
Between the cedar top, and the Lyrachord back, she has just the right balance of bright and mellow, a nice even sound throughout. Thanks to Luke and Marisa, It was brought to my attention that both this guitar AND the desired payment term came available at the same time. Thanks to all the Sweetwater crew, I am falling in love with the classical guitar all over again and brining me back to where I started.
Sweet sound
Its sound is very good and if you put better quality strings on it, it sounds even better. The only problem is that it is made in China and I had the opportunity to play with the Ovations that were made in the USA and the American made ones feel of a much better build quality than this one that is made in China, but in terms of sound I don't feel any difference between the USA vs China beyond the price and that in some cases you will have to take it to your guitar tech to adjust the action and you will have an excellent guitar both for professional use or just for fun.
